10 days of revision classes will be done before examination dates: Karnataka Education Minister Suresh Kumar
The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) postponed the SSLC and the last paper for II PUC examination again. The KSEEB SSLC was scheduled to start in the month of March. However, according to the reports, the Board took the decision to postpone the examinations again due to the nationwide lockdown in the wake of the novel coronavirus outbreak in the country.
The board confirmed the news regarding the postponement of the examination by posting an official notification on its website. According to the notice, the state education board postponed the examinations that were rescheduled to be conducted from April 27 to May 9. Earlier, the board was supposed to conduct the examinations from March 27 to April 9. The postponement is notified until further notice. Fresh dates for the postponed examination will be announced later by the Board after the lockdown will be over.
While announcing the postponement of the Karnataka SSLC examinations and Karnataka II PUC board exam, the Karnataka Education Minister Suresh Kumar stated, 'Class 10th (SSLC) exams which were scheduled to be held on April 27 to May 9 has been postponed till further notice. 10 days of revision classes will be done before examination dates.'
While talking to a reputed source regarding the postponement of the exams, the minister said, 'even if the government lifts lockdown after April 14, we will not conduct SSLC exams or hold exam for the remaining one subject of II PUC in April.'
The Board also requested the students and parents not to pay attention to the rumors. The revised schedule will be declared by the board on its official website. Students who are supposed to appear for the examination are advised to follow the official web portal of KSEEB for the Karnataka SSLC examination revised schedule
and Karnataka II PUC board exam revised date.
With the further postponement of the board examinations, it is evident that the Karnataka SSLC examination result 2020 and Karnataka 2nd PUC result 2020 will be delayed as well.
Earlier, on March 23, the Karnataka education board released a notice regarding the postponement of the Karnataka board exams. The board further postponed the Karnataka class 10, 12 board examinations because of the increasing COVID-19 positive cases in the country.
Initially, the Karnataka government ordered school establishments to grant leave to students and staff suffering from cold or fever. The order was passed taking into consideration the renewed coronavirus (COVID -19) worries. Coronavirus comprises a big family of fatal viruses that have symptoms that range from the common cold to severe respiratory diseases that can be fatal. Talking about the present situation, the COVID-19 cases in India have reached 6,653. The government is taking all the possible measures to control the rapidly spreading virus. As a precautionary to combat the disease spread in the country, state governments ordered a complete lockdown in severely infected regions resulting in the closure of academic institutions, suspension of classroom lectures, postponement of exams, and more.
