Q: Congratulations on your result! How was your reaction after seeing the results?
A: Thank you so much. I didn’t believe it at first, I was just hoping to get a 100 in Biology as that is my favorite subject, so my eyes went straight to that subject but when I saw great scores in other subjects too, I started jumping up with happiness.
Q: What is the last month preparation strategy to score over 90 percent in ISC 12th board exams 2025?
To score over 90 percent in ISC 12th board exams 2025, you should finish your syllabus by December 2024. Know the exam pattern well and start solving the previous years' question papers and sample papers too. Here are some tips to help you score over 90 in ISC exams:
Assess and Prioritize
Divide subjects into 'high priority' (weak areas), 'medium priority' (moderately understood concepts), and 'low priority' (in which you are confident). Analyze past years' question papers to identify recurring themes, question formats, and weightage given to different topics. Assess your strengths and weaknesses, identify time management issues, and get comfortable with the exam format.
Focus on high-priority topics
Refer to NCERT textbooks, concise study materials, and teacher's notes for clear understanding. Solve ISC Class 12 previous year's questions, ICSE Class 12 sample papers, and numerical problems related to high-priority topics. Condense key concepts, formulas, and diagrams into concise, visually appealing notes for quick revision.
Dedicate time to medium-priority topics
Use your understanding of high-priority concepts to build connections and simplify learning. Analyze your ISC sample papers to identify areas needing improvement and revise accordingly. Don't repeat the same mistakes!
Note important points
Briefly revise low-priority topics to ensure you don't miss easy marks. Focus on understanding key points and remembering crucial formulas. Solve ISC Past Year Papers from each subject to familiarize yourself with question types and improve speed and accuracy.
Sharpen Your Skills
Create mind maps to visualize connections between concepts and strengthen your understanding. Use acronyms, rhymes, or stories to remember key facts and formulas.
With hard work, a focused approach, and determination, you can achieve 95% in the 12th board exams. Remember, the journey to success is paved with hard work and perseverance.
Q: Did you score what you expected?
A: I had expected a little over 95%, but nowhere near 99.25. I was in denial for the first day, but it started to sink in after receiving people’s wishes and giving interviews.

Q: Please tell us something about your family background.
A: My mother Seema Goel and father Amil Kumar Goel are Chartered Accountants. They had been doing corporate jobs for many years and started a start-up in 2020; a tech-ed company that aims at women empowerment and online education. My sister (Akshara Goel) is in the 9th grade.
Q: What are the challenges you faced during ISC preparation?
A: Alongside ISC, I was also preparing for my medical entrance exam: NEET during 11th and 12th, so that had been my main focus and I didn’t dedicate separate time after coming home from school for my boards. Hence, I worried that time would be too short for me to cover up the syllabus according to a subjective paper as NEET was MCQ.
Q: What was your ISC preparation strategy to score above 95%?
A: I made sure that I paid 100% attention in class because that was the only time when I was studying for boards. I cleared all my doubts in class with the teachers as I wasn’t taking tuition. I also tried to make learning fun for myself and develop an interest in the topics being taught as that would ensure a better understanding and memory. I used to plan the month’s goal of which chapters to complete and then every night plan out the next day’s routine in an Excel sheet and tick it as I completed it.
Q: Which stream did you choose? How did you choose your stream? Did your ICSE score play any role in choosing the stream, or you were always clear about the same?
A: I chose Science (PCMB). I always had a love for science, especially biology. I was unsure between choosing PCMB or PCB but our school offered only the former, so I went ahead with that. I scored 99% in ICSE but that did not play a role in choosing my stream as I was clear that I was going to take science from the very start.
Q: Did you appear for any entrance exam, or preparing to appear in any?
A: Yes. In 11th and 12th I was preparing for NEET UG which is a medical exam with over 25 lakh people who appeared this year. That was my main focus. The exam was one day before the ISC results came out.
Q: What was your ISC board exam preparation Routine?
A: Throughout the year, the school conducted multiple exams like Terms or Unit tests. We used to receive our timetable a week in advance, so I used to type out the chapters that would come for the test and make a plan to study them. Over time, due to multiple tests, I had already gone through the syllabus many times. Towards the end, I practiced diagrams and past year papers.
Q: What are your plans? Which career path are you aiming for?
A: I am aiming to become a doctor. I haven’t yet decided which field to choose specifically but something which involves the use of accessible technology and machines instead of medicines for treatment.
Q: What is your favorite subject?
A: My favorite subject has always been Biology, specifically Zoology as I can always relate or understand things best when we are learning about the human body and even be fascinated by the similarities we possess with other animals.
Q: What is your dream college/institute?
A: My dream college would be AIIMS: All India Institute of Medical Science, Delhi.
Q: What was your strategy to prepare for the subjects you didn’t like the most?
A: I did not like Chemistry as much, because it involved a lot of byhearting information, so I tried to see ‘one shot’ videos which are videos that summarise the whole chapter shortly and effectively, this made summarising topics easier and I started to like the subject when I was able to answer more questions. Also, I had friends whose favorite subject was Chemistry so I told myself that if they could love this subject, there must be something in it which I can like too.
Q: Please share some tips for students prepping to appear in ISC Board Exams 2025
A: My main advice would be to find ways in which you can make yourself calm. This is because, often, many students who have studied the syllabus still fail to perform in the final exams because of stress. You will be at your best if you let go of your worries. Also, for studying, you are not required to read multiple books and see multiple papers from different schools. Choose one book recommended to you by your school teachers and do past year papers of ISC, as the board sets similar questions throughout the years.
Q: Can you share some tips for students deciding streams for higher studies?
A: Choose something that you love. Do not choose something because it is easy or because someone says that it will be rewarding later on. Nothing in life comes easy, and neither should we take up something because of future benefits as we do not know what the future holds for us. Lastly, don’t take a stream because of peer pressure or because your friends chose it, as sooner or later you are going to have to part ways with them when you go to college, and there is also a joy in making new friends.
