Karnataka Board will not conduct an SSLC examination for the students who are staying in the containment zones, state Education Minister said.

Karnataka Education Minister S. Suresh has announced that the students who are residing in the containment zones in the state will not be allowed to appear for the class 10 exams.

The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) will be conducting state Karnataka SSLC exams from June 25 to July 4, 2020. 

“We will not conduct SSLC examinations for students residing in containment zones. They will be instead treated as fresh candidates and will be allowed to attend the exams later. Fresh sets of hall tickets and marks cards will be issued for such candidates," he said.

The Minister further clarified that the Board will be conducting the exams for these students along with the supplementary exams.

The government would be conducting the SSLC examination in 43,720 rooms in 2,879 buildings across the state. This would make sitting arrangement for about 20 students in a classroom, which would be in accordance with the norms of social distancing. Also, all the students would have to wear a mask compulsorily during the examination. 

Students who are supposed to appear for the Karnataka SSLC Board Exams 2020 can check the Karnataka SSLC Time Table 2020 on the official website of the Board i.e.kseeb.kar.nic.in.

This year 8,48,196 students will appear for Karnataka SSLC Exam 2020 with special provisions regarding examinations. The date sheet was finalized in the meeting conducted by the Education Minister of the state along with the government officials. 

Earlier, the exams were scheduled to be held from March 27 to April 9, however, due to coronavirus outbreak, it was postponed.
