Tamil Nadu School Education Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan stated that the Tamil Nadu Board SSLC exams are not cancelled and will definitely take place.

Tamil Nadu School Education Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan stated that the Tamil Nadu Board SSLC exams are not cancelled and will definitely take place. However, he further revealed that a decision regarding the schedule will be taken after the lockdown ends i.e. on May 3.

According to the reports, the state education minister said, “Only after May 3, the schedule will be announced officially by the School Education Department. This is the first time we are faced with such a situation. So we might be forced to accommodate it in May which is usually the time for summer holidays.”

The minister further added that the Tamilnadu class 10 students might have to write their exams in a tighter schedule. The officials are exploring all the options. The decision regarding the Tamilnadu 10th board exam dates for pending papers will come after the lockdown.

While talking about following precautionary in order to control the COVID-19 spread during exams, Mr Sengottaiyan said that students were already sitting with adequate space in exam halls.

The minister also talked about the Tamilnadu 12th students who could not appear for the last exam and stated, “After the lockdown ends, a schedule for the evaluation of Class 12 papers will also be announced. As the Chief Minister had announced, students who had missed out on writing their last Class 12 exam due to the restrictions in place for COVID-19 will be given a chance to write the exam again.” However, the minister has not commented yet on the release dates of Tamilnadu 10th result 2020 and Tamilnadu 12th result 2020

Meanwhile, the minister already instructed the private schools of the state to stop forcing parents to pay the school fees during the lockdown. The minister made this clear that the authorities will take strict actions if any complaints are made about schools forcing parents to pay.
