Tripura government has announced that the Class 10 and 12 Board exams have been rescheduled, which was earlier postponed due to nationwide coronavirus lockdown.

Earlier, the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) had postponed the TBSE class 12 and TBSE class 10 exams 2020. The TBSE exams scheduled to be held on March 23 and March 31 were postponed and suspended indefinitely until further notice due to coronavirus outbreak in the country and the lockdown imposed as a preventive step.

Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that "while all examinations conducted by the state education board for candidates appearing with the new syllabus in their Madhyamik exams were completed before lockdown, exams of few papers for old syllabus candidates were still left to be completed. Some papers of Higher Secondary examination were left as well."

“The Board has decided to reschedule these examinations and hold them from June 5. All these exams will start from 12 noon and continue till 3:15 p.m. ”, he informed. 27,142 candidates including 13,908 male and 13,234 females were enrolled for writing TBSE Higher Secondary exam papers this year.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has released a notification, stating that it has decided to grant permission to various boards around the country to conduct class 10 and 12 exams during the lockdown. However, it has released several guidelines for conducting the board exams like no centers in the containment zones, special buses for students, social distancing to be followed at the examination centers, face mask, etc. This all his been released keeping in mind the safety of the students.
