The UP Board has released the revised examination pattern on its official website.

UP Board exams 2022: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has asked all the affiliated schools to conduct the UP Board 10th and UP Board 12th half-yearly examinations this month. It is being said that the state board will be conducting the UP Board examinations in the new prescribed examination pattern from the 2022 session. UPMSP has already released the revised UP Board exam pattern. Most of the schools have already released the timetable for the upcoming half-yearly exams. Reportedly, the examinations in many schools will commence from November 11. The last date of the UP Board exam will be held on November 15, 2021.

UP Board New Exam Pattern

The state board has released the new exam pattern to conduct the examinations. Just like CBSE, the UP Board exams will be held in two phases. As per the new exam pattern, the question paper of 70 marks in the written examination has been divided into two parts. About 30% marks of the question paper i.e. the first part of 20 marks will be based on multiple-choice questions, while the second part of the question paper of 70 marks (about 70% or 50 marks) will be descriptive questions, whose answers will be given on the traditional answer sheets according to the existing system. The main objective behind this is to make the students practise taking the exam on the OMR sheets. This has been implemented under the National Education Policy 2020.

A new 50+20+30 marking formula has been developed to hold the examinations. While the 20 marks exam will be MCQ-based, the 50 marks paper will be written as per the old policy. The MCQ test of 20 marks will be conducted using the OMR sheet. However, the remaining 30 marks will be based on internal assessments.

UP Board exams 2022

The state board had released the academic calendar, as per which, the examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 will be conducted in February and March. While the theory exams are scheduled for the fourth week of March, the UP board practicals will begin in the third week of February.
