The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education will release the class 10th board examination results post lockdown, confirms State Education Minister.

West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee has said that the state board will decide the date for releasing the class 10th examination result once the lockdown is lifted and the situation returns to normal.

While talking to a media house, the minister said, West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) is waiting for the lockdown to get over before declaring the WBBSE Class 10 results 2020.

The sorting and evaluation process for the answer sheets is done at a rapid speed. Once it is over, the rest of the process will not take much time, he added.

Commenting on West Bengal Class 12th examinations, he said that the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) will conduct the remaining two papers after June 10. The Board will be conducting the examination on a priority basis. After the completion of the examination WBCHSE class 12 results 2020 will be announced, he added.

West Bengal has two different boards - West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) for 9th and 10th, and West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) for 11th and 12th.

In response to the academic calendar, he said, the academic calendar of different state universities and affiliated colleges will be decided by the universities in consultation with the higher education department.

Meanwhile, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has released academic calendar and exam guidelines yesterday. The calendar and guidelines are only suggestive in nature and universities can decide when and how to conduct exams and classes as per the infrastructure available to them, while ensuring that all students are treated fairly.
