Important WBCHSE Preparation Tips for Chemistry
The students preparing for the WBCHSE Chemistry exam need to understand the basic concepts to score well. Here are some of the key tips to prepare for West Bengal Board 12th Chemistry exam.
- The syllabus of Chemistry is divided into two parts — Organic Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry. The students need to know the syllabus to get an idea of all the topics. After getting the knowledge about the syllabus, the students can easily devise a schedule to cover all the topics on time.
- Besides the chemical formulae, Chemistry also has reactions that have to be practised thoroughly and revised regularly to secure high scores. The students should focus on understanding the basic concepts of various reactions such as Hoffmann Bromamide, Clemmensen Reduction Reaction, Williamson Synthesis, Kolbe’s Reaction, Aldol Condensation, etc.
- Inorganic Chemistry involves several numerical questions. The students need to understand and practise these questions regularly to enhance speed and accuracy.
- Practise previous year's question papers as this will help students in understanding the question paper format along with the high-weightage topics to prepare for the exam accordingly.
- Learn and write all the important formulae and chemical equations in a separate notebook and revise them daily. This will help in quick revision of the basic concepts.
- After completing the syllabus, solve as many mock tests as possible to get an idea of the exam pattern. Also, the students should solve these mock tests with a stopwatch and try to complete the same in the prescribed time. This will improve their speed and manage time properly.
- During the exam, write a short introduction of the concepts, highlight keywords and ensure important points are covered while writing long answers. Practise this concept in mock tests as well so that the same pattern can be implemented in the board exam as well.
- The students should not compare their method of learning or the course covered with others. Every student has a different style of learning. Hence, the students must focus on their preparation method instead of looking at the preparation of others.
- During the preparation, cover the difficult topics earlier so that the time can be managed more effectively.
- Stay calm during the preparation as well as in the exam. Focus on practising daily to boost confidence and prevent repeated mistakes
