Master in Computer Applications (MCA) - Batch of 2014
2.6
2Placements3Infrastructure3Faculty2Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Good faculty, library books, bad I.V. experience and industrial exposure, not so good placements
Placements: The placements were only for mostly those people who scored above 55-60 % in their academics. Those who have less percentage, have to look for their own job. Also, those who have above 60 % have to struggle a lot for placements. As JSPM is a group of colleges, they have 5 colleges in Pune, and most students from the Tathawade campus are selected, as their TPO has tie-ups with the companies.
Infrastructure: Labs and classrooms are nice. They have 5 labs and one library but Wi-Fi is not available. Sports facilities are almost nil, and you have don't have your own ground for the same. The canteen is shared in between the engineering, pharmacy and masters students, only one canteen is there so during the break, there is a lot of rush there. We didn't have access to lhe Library at night during the PL period of exams.
Faculty: The faculty team during our time period was nice, we had theoretical knowledge of every subject, also due to many numbers of labs, we were able to implement those in labs too. But we were never provided with an industrial visit by the college during this time period. The course was set by the university. Also, we were not provided with any internship help from the college, we had to manage everything ourselves.
Other: One liner, if you don't get admission anywhere and you seriously want to do MCA, then only do admission here, but keep trying outside for jobs and internships from the second year, don't be dependent on college for jobs and internships, try to look for the internship by yourself. Just get your basics cleared and use the library facility properly, as you will have access to all library books as long as you want. This will help you clear all the basics.

3.2

Other: College is one of the brand college in Pune, teaching staff is really good, all teachers are well qualified, and helping in nature and all teaching and non-teaching staff is very good. But area of college is too outside and not developed, in that area there are no general facilities to students, very poor restaurants in that area, ATM is too far from college, there is no hostel facility to boys. But the college is really brand Abacus.

There is no proper training and placement officer.
Placements: In Abacus Institute of Computer Application, there is no good placement, no one care about placements. The students are asked to find a job on their own outside the campus. There is no proper training and placement officer. They do not provide any opportunity for the students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. very good sitting arrangement and good computer lab in abacus institute. There is a good canteen. They are providing free Wi-Fi on the whole campus. There is good computer lab in the college. There is a good library system. In library lots of books are available. You can use the books. Monthly magazines are also available in the college.
Faculty: The faculty is not that good. They have only theoretical knowledge. They lack practical knowledge. Faculty won't give proper subject knowledge because they don't have a clear idea about the subject knowledge. One teacher is teaching two subjects.
Other: There are no events.
