Alliance School of Law - Justice N Santosh Hegde National Moot Court Competition, 2023

Feb 23, 2023: The School of Law of Alliance University is all set to host the Justice N Santosh Hegde National Moot Court Competition from 25th to 26th February 2023. This annual competition aims to provide a platform for law students from different parts of the country to showcase their advocacy skills and compete with each other in a simulated courtroom environment.

The former Supreme Court of India judge Justice N Santosh Hegde, who is also the event's chief guest, is honoured by having the competition bear his name. Judge Hegde has had a distinguished career as a judge and is renowned for his moral character and dedication to the rule of law. A total of 38 teams from top law schools across India will be participating in this two-day event, including teams from West Bengal, Kerala, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana. The teams will be competing against each other in a preliminary round where they will represent both sides, petitioner and respondent. The top teams will then move on to compete in the knockout rounds - quarterfinals, semi-finals, and final rounds. All the teams would arrive to the Alliance University Central Campus in Bengaluru on 24th February 2023 for research exam before the inaugural that is scheduled at 9:30 am on 25th February 2023. The inaugural event would be live telecasted on the YouTube channel of Alliance University (https://www.youtube.com/@AllianceUniOfcl).

The preliminary rounds are being judged by the esteemed alumni of Alliance School of Law; over 25 professionals working in reputed law firms, MNCs, and academics. The semi-final rounds will be presided over by an esteemed panel of judges, including Mr. Priyesh Sharma, Assistant Vice-President, Nucleus Office Parks (Blackstone Commercial Entity); Mr. Gaurav Sahay, Partner, LinkLegal; Dr. Sujith Surendran, Associate Dean, PES University; and Dr. Sunil George, Principal, IFIM Law school.

Justice Michael D'Cunha, former Judge of the Karnataka High Court and Ms. Roopa Prasad Doraswamy, Founder of Flywork.io and General Counsel of Microland, have consented to be judges in the final round. These judges are highly respected in the legal profession and bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help ensure that the competition is fair and just.

The competition is being organized by a team of thirty student members and seven faculty members from the Alliance School of Law. They are being aided by over 50 volunteers who are also students of the school. The organizing team has been working tirelessly to ensure that the event runs smoothly and that all the participants and judges have a great experience.

Justice N Santosh Hegde National Moot Court Competition 2023 promises to be an exciting and challenging event for all the participants. It provides an excellent opportunity for law students to hone their skills and gain valuable experience that will help them in their future legal careers. With such an impressive line-up of judges and participants from across the country, this year's competition is sure to be a grand success.

Placements: 85-90% of student gets placed in the campus placement. Those who sit for the interview. The highest package offered is around 11 LPA Average is 3-4 LPA There are many legal and consultancy companies. Who come to our college provides internships also CAN office deals with the placement and internships.

It is a good university in Bengaluru.

Placements: 85-95% of students got placed in Alliance University. The highest package offered is 6 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 2 LPA. Recruiting companies are Amazon, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, Microsoft etc. 85% of them got internships in the top recruiting companies mentioned above. Top roles offered in BBA LL.B. are legal advisors, financial advisory, financial analyst etc.

Placements: About 80% of students get placed. The college has a corporate mentorship program where a mentor from the corporate world guides us through the process. The CAN office provides assistance to students who need help finding an internship.

Good infrastructure and campus life.

Placements: The placement was pretty good, almost everyone who tried was placed. Students just have to utilize the resources. There are various opportunities for students from the college for internships and placements. Even the professors help out students with internships.

It is one of the best colleges in Bangalore for law.

Placements: Placements seem to be good here. The current year batch is the first batch that is graduating, hence, we should see how placements take place. Internships are mandatory and the college will arrange for internships if you can not get a good lawyer or firm. For the business school, the placements are good and hope the same continues for the law school as well.

It is one of the best law universities in Bangalore.

Placements: Around 75% of students from our department get placed. Many multinational companies visit the college to recruit students. The salary packages offered to the students for our senior batch ranges from 5-10 LPA. The placement department keeps the students notified of all the companies that visit the college.
