B.Com. in Taxation and Finance - Batch of 2028

I am dissatisfied with some rules of the college. It has good placements.
Placements: I am currently studying in my first year. As per my seniors, the college provides placement with a salary package that ranges from 4-8 LPA. HSIL Limited is one company hiring students studying B.Com from the college. ICICI Bank also provides placements with salary packages to our college students.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi in the college but the access is still unknown. Labs are well-maintained, but classes lack in quality. Especially the classes on the top floor are much faster which makes students comfortable for learning and teachers feel comfortable for teaching. There are only a few bathrooms in the college for such a vast amount of students. The canteen provides full vegetarian food only. Not many sports are taking place in the college.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified with five to ten years of experience. Some teachers are friendly and helpful for studies. The course curriculum contains some unwanted subjects to learn for the opening semesters, but other than that there are not many flaws in the curriculum.
Other: The college is good, but the fee is a bit high for such a course. The college should improve its facilities like washrooms, classes, etc. Many events are organised in the college, but they are not popular as the other colleges.

Review by a First Year Student.
Placements: Placements here at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham are quite good. Maximum students get placed in different companies with good salaries. The highest package someone has got as a fresher is 17 Lacs per annum. The lowest is 5 Lacs per annum. The top recruiting companies are Google, Intel, Nokia, Microsoft, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided by the college are good. We have separate Wi-Fi connections for students and faculty members. We have smart classrooms with good facilities. There are two canteens, but both are vegetarian because the college promotes spirituality. There aren't any sports facilities here.
Faculty: The faculty members here at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham are excellent and have years of field experience. They are very kind and helpful. There are subjects like Life Skills that train students to improve their communication skills while attending interviews.
Other: The main reason I chose this college is because I heard that the college provides good placements and the course affordability is less expensive than other colleges. There are no special events except for departmental exhibitions organized by the students themselves.

Good for students who are looking just to study and have no college life.
Placements: B.Des (H) in Communication Design is a new course which has started only since 2022; therefore, there is none who have completed the course yet. The college promises to provide an internship in the 3rd year, but till now, there is no data on it. The college overall has a placement rate of 80-92% as per the data.
Infrastructure: The college has fewer buildings compared to other colleges. The campus is small but well-equipped with facilities. The library is big and the labs are well-equipped. Wi-Fi is not available for students. Classrooms are not the best. Some buildings are old hospitals converted into classrooms, thus giving a hospital vibe. The hostel is only available for girls and it is very strict about everything, from going out to what you are wearing. The quality of food in the mess is pretty okay. There are no sports activities or anything related to it that happens on this campus.
Faculty: Some faculty members are strict and rude, but there are a lot of good faculty members too. The faculty members are well-qualified, but some do feel a little less experienced with the topics. In the Visual Media department, the classes taken are fewer compared to other courses here. The course is not much relevant as we have a lot of off-topic things to study. The semester exams are pretty good and based on your skills. The pass percentage is calculated as half of the toppers in that particular subject. If 100 is the top mark, 50 is the pass mark.
Other: Amrita has a certificate value, hence I chose this course here. This course here offers a lot of opportunities to experience things based on the course. In the Visual Media department, there are a lot of events to experience, making it enjoyable for the students. It would have been better if the faculty members taught the topics well and came to all classes. Most of the days just go by without any classes. There are no events or extracurricular activities that happen here. Other than the art-based field of studies, everything is boring.

Review by a first-year student.
Placements: College provides the best placements for students from different companies. Faculty members try their best to train students to get placed in big companies. Curriculum contains a specific subject to train students for placements and job interviews.
Infrastructure: College facilities and infrastructure are well occupied. They are well managed by the authorities. College provides separate Wi-Fi for students and faculty members. College provides labs for each course. Students opting for B.Des in Communication Design have their own design labs.
Faculty: As design student, I am pleased with how the faculty members try their best to help students understand concepts. Curriculum is updated. Semester exams are not very tough, but that doesn't mean they are easy. Students should work hard to get good marks in each semester for placements.
Other: Courses offered here are less expensive compared to other colleges. Being a deemed university, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi conducts events in a well-organised manner. Overall events are organised by the students themselves. I wish the college had provided more events like auto shows.

Good college to be honest but less enjoyment.
Placements: Amrita College, Kochi, has an excellent placement record, particularly for technology-oriented courses like BCA (Hons.). The placement cell actively engages with top recruiters from the IT and tech industry, such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, and more. Students are provided with pre-placement training, mock interviews, and technical skill workshops, which boost their chances of getting placed. The average package ranges between 3-6 LPA, while top students have secured higher offers depending on their skills and internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the BCA program is well-suited for a hands-on learning experience.
Labs: The college provides state-of-the-art computer labs with updated software and a fast internet connection. Students have access to the required tools, programming software, and other resources needed for coding and project development.
Classrooms: Spacious, well-ventilated, and equipped with smart boards and audio-visual aids.
Library: A comprehensive library with books, journals, and digital resources for students to explore beyond the curriculum.
Hostel: Hostels are clean and well-maintained, offering both AC and non-AC rooms. Basic facilities like Wi-Fi, 24/7 security, mess with hygienic food, and laundry services are available. Hostel life is strictly disciplined, making it comfortable yet focused for students.
Faculty: The faculty for the BCA (Hons.) program is highly experienced and supportive. Professors are well-qualified, with most holding PhDs and industry experience. The teaching style focuses on both theoretical concepts and practical applications, ensuring students have a strong foundation in the IT field. Guest lectures and workshops by industry experts are also organized regularly, bridging the gap between academics and real-world requirements. Faculty members are approachable and guide students for projects, research work, and placements.

Good placements in 2024. Good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Around 15 students are placed in our course. The highest salary offered is Rs. 50,000.The lowest salary offered is Rs. 30,000 and the lowest salary offered is Rs. 20,000. Companies offerinf placements include E-Way and Deloitte. About 60% of students got placed in E-Way. Top roles include auditor, finance manager, and teacher (related to B.Com finance and tax).
Infrastructure: Labs are good and have facilities to study programs and many subjects. Library is available to refer to books related to subjects. Classrooms are fine and have fans. Medical facilities are good. In case of emergency, we can get bandages and tablets.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, especially when we ask doubts. Teaching quality is good and we can understand properly. It makes students industry-ready with various ideas. Semester exams are difficult as sometimes the question paper is tough. Pass percentage is based on mid-term marks and internal assessments.
Other: This course offers job opportunities and is a very interesting subject. To improve sports-related activities in college, programs should be introduced to make it more encouraging.
