Apeejay Institute Of Mass Communication Organises An Interactive Orientation Session For Its First-Year Students

August 31, 2022: AIMC gave the students a preview of their PGD and PGDM journeys in an interesting Orientation programme. The institute also presented the students to various business executives who discussed their insightful experiences, which further heightened their interest. One of them was Dr Annurag Batra, creator of Exchange4Media and chairman and editor-in-chief of BW Businessworld, who spoke about the fundamental business principles that guided his success as an entrepreneur. He also discussed the several lucrative prospects provided by the media.

Through a PowerPoint presentation and linked films, Sam Rufus, founder director & learning person-creativity & innovation, Enriching People in Creativity (EPIC), led a thought-provoking workshop on the concept of creativity in the advertising profession.

"I am happy and delighted to have joined AIMC, I can say that with certainty. It takes a lot of faith to believe in a group of people or a group of institutions, but with this big start, I can only image how grand it will be in the upcoming year. My batchmates and I are not the only ones who are looking forward to the trip ahead; they all had wonderful experiences at the Orientation ceremony” said Lakshita Kandpal, a PGD Corporate Communications & Events Management student.

Gowher, a PGD student in Television & Radio Journalism/Production, was understandably wary of acclimating to a brand-new setting. The manner the students were welcomed on campus, though, "enthralled" her. "The entire setting was really alluring, and I could already picture my bright future with the prestigious Institute's forward-thinking leaders. Being a part of Apeejay makes me grateful, the student stated.

Punya, a PGD in mass communication, continued, "The orientation was superb. I am very interested in whatever I will learn at AIMC.

At the conclusion of the session, other members of the core faculty, including Professor Pijush Dutta, Professor Naveen Gautam, and Director of the AIMC, Professor Sajal Mukherjee, talked with the students and offered guidance.

It is a growing experience, both personally and professionally.

Placements: Placements in our college were extremely easy to get into. There are ample opportunities for students interested in creating an impact. Companies were interested in hiring students with hard skills and talent to complete work. Many companies are arriving in the campus during the placement season. I was offered multiple internships. As part of my project, I got a chance to work with interesting photographers and video teams now working with huge brands.

Good Placement ratio but low salary package.

Placements: Apeejay is one of the finest institutes for journalism with a good placement ratio. Almost all the students got placed in good companies. Although initially, the packages offered are quite low. Minimum package offered was around 1 lac, while the average package was around 2.5 to 3 lacs, the students then move forward as per their capabilities.

Life at Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication.

Placements: According to the institute, only 40% of students are placed yet they claim to have 100% placement. Overall, not more than 2.4 LPA was offered. The top companies are Densu and Hawas, but none showed up this year. Limited students got internships at companies like Blue Stone, Adfactor, FCB Ulka, and M Wizard. The top role offered is client servicing.

I am satisfied with the faculty, good placements in 2018, very good infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: Almost 100% of the students were placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is 4 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA. Top companies, like Edelman, concept PR, Weber Shandwick, etc., visited the campus. Roles offered are related to the press release, event management, etc.
