All about our college.
Placements: To place final-year students in respectable organizations through campus recruitment. To provide industrial training to students during their course of study. To organize lectures, seminars, group discussions, mock interviews, etc., for career guidance, entrepreneurship, and personality development. To provide information and assistance to students regarding job opportunities in India and abroad, opportunities for self-employment, opportunities for higher studies in India and abroad, and competitive examinations like GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, GATE, CAT, etc.
Infrastructure: Our lab facilities are equipped with the most modern equipment, including the Strength of Materials Lab, Survey Lab, Geotechnical Engineering Lab, Transportation Engineering Lab, Concrete Lab, Environment Lab, and Computer-Aided Design and Drafting Lab, etc. The equipment functioning properly is an attractive feature of the labs, allowing students to utilize them for their project work as well. Survey camps are conducted for students outside the college premises every year to improve practical knowledge.
Faculty: Apart from the regular academic activities, our scholars are also nurtured with organizational and interpersonal skills, which enable the growth of managerial capabilities within themselves. To achieve this, a common platform is highly essential where both education and the student community can interact together as a single family, venturing into a diverse range of activities. The intercollegiate tech fest of BMCE is organized every year under unique names. The fest, in association with the six branches, includes a variety of events like auto expo, circuit debugging, paper presentation, project exhibition, and competitions for school-going students, etc., with a little emphasis on fun. The objective of the fest is to bring students of various streams from different institutes onto a common platform where they are encouraged to share knowledge and innovative ideas. It also aims to exhibit the talents and skills of aspiring engineers in both technical and non-technical ways.
Other: The Department has well-equipped laboratories with new high-end machines, sophisticated equipment, and qualified personnel. The department has 9 laboratories with provisions for research activities. It is also well-equipped with computational facilities and includes a computer-integrated manufacturing lab. The Mechanical Engineering Association of the department, MEQNZO, initiates co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for the overall development of students. Numerous initiatives have already been carried out towards the employability of students. The department has signed MoUs with CAD Centre Kollam and Kerala Electrical & Allied Engineering Co. Ltd., which provide exposure to the industry environment.

College of engineering that makes us great engineer .
Placements: The students upto 25 percent get placed. The highest package is about 1Lakh, the lowest is about 20,000. Awas, techmagi, teach Mahindra are the recruiting companies. About 30% of students got internship. This make our lives easier by heading infrastructural projects, designing easy and affordable transportation, and helping plan smart cities for better standard.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is not good at all. Library has a lot of books for each and every department's subjects. The labs are good but some of the equipments are not working. Some of the classrooms are not available with the smart classes. The college provides accommodation services for both boys and girls like for strength of 100 each. The boy's hostel is within the campus while the girl's hostel is just a stone's throw away from the campus. Facilities like Information counter and photocopying services are provided.
Faculty: The teachers takes a lot of effort to teach us. In PPT form they show us and teach us. It's very difficult to score marks but if we make a lot of effort then we can get better marks. Some aspects of the curriculum that encourage us to choose this course. The curriculum is good for odd semester and even semester is bad. Even semester takes 3 months to cover the portion, thus Yes it is of very difficult level.
Other: Because of my parents I chose this course. There are many events in our college like the teach fest, onam celebration, Christmas celebration, arts etc.

Solid Education but Weak Placement Support
Placements: Unfortunately, only about 50% of students from our course were placed through campus recruitment. The highest package offered was 6 LPA, the lowest was 2 LPA, and the average package was around 3.5 LPA, which is quite disappointing compared to industry standards. The top recruiting companies were limited to a few mid-tier like TCS, Tech Mahindra etc with a notable absence of top-tier companies. Only 40% of students managed to secure internships, mainly with smaller local firms. Companies included some startups and smaller IT firms. The roles offered were predominantly junior positions such as Trainee Developer, Junior Analyst, and Support Engineer, which did not meet the expectations of most students. Overall, the placement scenario was not very promising, with limited opportunities and subpar salary packages. The course needs significant improvement in industry connections and better internship opportunities to enhance student prospects.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for our course is below average, with unreliable Wi-Fi, outdated labs, and classrooms lacking modern teaching aids. The library's limited collection of relevant books often hampers our studies. Hostel facilities are substandard, with cramped, poorly maintained rooms and poor food quality in the mess and canteen. Additionally, medical facilities are inadequate, and there are minimal sports and recreation amenities. Overall, the facilities need significant improvement to provide a conducive learning and living environment for students.
Faculty: The teachers were somewhat helpful, but not all were equally qualified or knowledgeable. The teaching quality was inconsistent, with some professors being excellent while others lacked depth in their subject matter. The course curriculum is moderately relevant, but it requires more updates to truly make students industry-ready. Semester exams were of moderate difficulty, not overly challenging but requiring consistent study. The pass percentage hovered around 70%, indicating that while passing isn't extremely tough, it does require effort. Overall, I would rate the academic experience a 5/10.
Other: I chose Electronics and Communication Engineering because of my fascination with technology and how electronic devices function. This field blends elements of electrical engineering and telecommunications, offering numerous applications and innovations that influence daily life. It also presents strong career prospects and growth opportunities. The course is particularly beneficial due to its hands-on labs and projects, which help bridge the gap between theory and practice, and its innovative nature, as it is constantly evolving with technological advancements. However, I would appreciate improvements in areas like updating the curriculum more frequently to keep pace with technological changes, increasing industry collaboration for better internships and practical experiences, and enhancing support for extracurricular activities related to electronics, such as hackathons and tech fests. Additionally, events and fests provide valuable exposure to current trends and networking, a diverse campus crowd fosters idea sharing, good connectivity is crucial for research and communication, and a well-maintained campus environment supports both academic and personal growth. Scholarships can alleviate financial pressures and dedicated support for extracurricular activities can further complement academic learning and skill development.

Faculty members are great, and I prefer a college environment that focuses more on studies.
Placements: Baselios Mathews II College of Engineering in Shasthamkotta, Kollam, has average placements. While there are top recruiting companies, there are also several average ones. The average salary package is decent. For those seeking good placements, open placements are recommended.
Infrastructure: Established in 2004, the college has an average infrastructure. The hostel's facilities are good. As a hostel student myself, I can attest that it provides for all needs, offering good food, attached bathrooms, and support for sports activities. The college boasts large libraries, three computer labs, mechanical labs, and other essential facilities. The management supports sports and game activities.
Faculty: The teaching faculty members are proficient, supporting both studies and extracurricular activities. They are well-qualified and experienced. I recommend this college for those solely focused on their studies. Campus life experiences may vary based on your batch. Exams are challenging, but teachers are available to assist with any doubts.
Other: I am a Computer Science and Engineering student set to graduate in 2026 as part of the 22–26 batch.

It is a good college for those students who want to study and get good results.
Placements: Our college provides good placements. The placement cell is good. More than 60% of students are placed. The average salary package offered is 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, etc., visit our campus.

Satisfied with the college facilities, infrastructures, and faculty.
Placements: Above 70 percent of students were placed in my course and they were placed in the most good companies. Some of the top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, etc. The biggest package offered in your course ranges from INR 20k to INR 25k. A good percentage of students were placed in good companies.
Infrastructure: The college maintains a good infrastructure, and the labs are maintained well. The hostel is maintained with normal facilities, and the hostellers were satisfied with that. The sports area was good and mainly concentrated on volleyball, football, and badminton. The food in the mess was average.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful in the academic area. Certain curriculum-based academic activities are maintained to provide a good academic result. Pass percent was average. Certain remedial measures are used to improve academics and help improve the study. It is also useful for reducing stress associated with semester exams.
