    BA Course Review:

Based on reviews from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons of choosing B.A. at Burdwan Raj College:

    Pros:

    * Helpful and well-qualified teachers who make students industry-ready
    * Moderate semester exams with a good pass percentage
    * Strong infrastructure, including modern classrooms, libraries, and hostel facilities
    * Good campus environment with recreational spaces and Wi-Fi availability
    * Opportunities for extracurricular activities and cultural events
    * Availability of scholarships and financial assistance
    * Convenient location with proximity to public transportation

    Cons:

    * Limited placement opportunities, especially for traditional B.A. streams
    * Course structure may not prepare students adequately for industry demands
    * Poor faculty-student ratio, leading to limited personal attention
    * Limited access to resources, particularly outdated lab equipment and textbooks
    * Campus maintenance issues, including a lack of cleanliness and waste management
    * Limited industrial exposure and internships
    * Conflicting interests between academic priorities and administrative decisions

    Placement Scenario:
    * While the college has made efforts to improve placements, the reality remains that limited placements are available for traditional B.A. streams.
    * The highest salary package offered was Rs. 60,000 per month, while the average salary ranged from Rs. 8,000 to 30,000 per month.
    * Internship opportunities exist, but these are often limited and dependent on individual initiative.

    Course Feedback:
    * Teachers are generally helpful and knowledgeable, but may not always provide sufficient guidance.
    * The course curriculum could benefit from updates to reflect industry demands.
    * Lab facilities and equipment require improvement.
    * Project work and practical applications are limited, although some students reported positive experiences with projects.

Overall, while B.A. at Burdwan Raj College has its strengths, students seeking guaranteed placements or intense industrial exposure might find themselves disappointed. However, those willing to adapt and make the most of their educational experience may still find value in the program.

    On Curriculum

Q:   Question: How is the course curriculum for B.A. at Burdwan Raj College?

    A:
    {Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Based on the provided information, here's how the course curriculum at Burdwan Raj College is structured for B.A:

Course Duration: The course duration is 6 months, divided into semesters.

Teaching Methodology: Teachers teach students carefully and efficiently, covering a significant portion of the syllabus on time. Some students mention that their teachers are helpful and knowledgeable.

Syllabus Coverage: Due to the CBSC system, teachers often struggle to cover the entire syllabus on time. This might affect students' preparation for examinations.

Examinations: Two exams are held in a year, and the results take some time to come out.

Industry Exposure: Unfortunately, most students did not receive industry exposure during their course.

Career Opportunities: While some students found employment after graduating, others struggled to find relevant jobs. Companies like Tata, ITC, Balaji, and others visited the campus for recruitment.

Placement Statistics: According to students, approximately 30% of students got placed in their respective courses, while another 40% secured internships.

Scholarship Opportunities: Merit students received scholarships like SVMCM, Sitaram Jindal, Aikyashree, and Minority scholarships.

In summary, the course curriculum at Burdwan Raj College for B.A seems to follow a traditional approach, with a focus on theoretical learning. While some students appreciate their teachers' efforts, others lament the lack of industry exposure and limited job opportunities after graduation.

Our college provides good facilities so I would recommend other students to take admission to it.
Placements: Around 80% of students got placed in our course. The average salary offered ranges from Rs 8,000 per month - Rs 30,000 per month. Our college is government aided so there are no private companies. Almost 57% of students got internships in top companies like Tata, ITC, Balaji, etc.
Infrastructure: Our college has a lot of facilities for students. There is a Wi-Fi system, and our campus has advanced technology. Hostel facilities are better. Mess is also average.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. They always try to help us with our doubts. The course curriculum is good. Everyone should read this review and students will know about old subjects. Semester exams are not very easy, and the pass percentage is 78%.
Other: I chose political science because it will help students to learn about the judicial system, the Indian Government, the political system, etc. The best thing about this course is that we can cover a lot of general knowledge. This course will improve our life. Every year, cultural programs like social, freshers, etc., are conducted. They also organised NCC camps and blood donation camps. Scholarships like SVMCM, Sitaram Jindal, Aikyashree, Minority, etc., are provided to merit students. It is a very good college for students. Every year, many students participate in annual sports and win exciting awards.

A very good college with friendly and qualified teachers. One of the best colleges in Burdwan.
Placements: In our batch, only 25% students have gotten placement after pursuing BA (hons.) In Bengali. Among them some students have gotten a package of 60000/month (which is the highest) and some students have gotten 120000 per annum (which is the lowest package). There are many recruiters mentioned on the college website, but in our batch I have seen very few companies like Vi, Sunsilk, bata, private schools, etc. recruiting students in special roles. Many students have gotten internship also after pursuing B.A (general ) in Bengali in companies like anandabazar, news 24 as a junior reporter. In B.A hons course, there are a very few jobs like salesman, data typist, etc. and companies like vi, bata have recruited students for data typing as well as salesperson.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are cleaned daily and the labs are really good. You will get all types of equipments needed for your project. The college offers free Wi-Fi facility, but its speed is very slow and you need to ask the administration for using it. If you want to stay in hostels there are very good rooms available for both boys and girls. Canteen's food is good to keep you fit all day. If you want to play sports then you can play with your friends in the playground. There is a medicine center in the college where you can get medicines free of cost.
Faculty: It is one of the oldest colleges in Burdwan. It has very good, qualified and helpful teachers. The teach us very clearly and friendly. If you want to get a job in corporate office then it may be relevant to you but it will not make you industry ready. The exams in the college are difficult a little bit but if you study hard then the exams will be very easy. Almost 89% students clear in every semester in this college.
Other: I chose B.A. (hons ) in Bengali because I like this subject. It has good level of arts skill so I chose it. If the class time gets extended then it would be better because we only get 1 hour for each subject. Many events like milon mela, freshers party and many events are organised by seniors. Students get good connectivity also as the railway station is very close to this college. The college is decorated with lots of trees, flowers, and statues. Students get many scholarships like Swami Vivekananda scholarship, etc. from this college. The college organises an awareness programme about road safety every month. Overall, it is a good college in Burdwan.

I am satisfied with the college because it's awesome in every aspect, from studies to fun.
Placements: 30% of total students in our college enrolled for my course. From my course, many students got government jobs. More than 40% of students got internships, and they are doing well. Overall, it is a well-decorated college I have ever seen.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in our college. There are several labs. The classrooms are well facilitated. Projectors are used to teach us. There are well-trained faculty members. Our college has a the most enriched library in the Purba Bardhaman district. There are 2 boys hostels and 1 ladies hostel. Annual sports, annual function, and a greeting to the newcomers are conducted once a year.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful. In terms of teaching, they are very good. From this course, our stock of words has been increased so well. We are very much benefited from this course and our faculty members. Semester and internal exams are very difficult. A minimum of 65% is required to qualify the exams.
Other: To make myself better in English, I chose this course. The best thing about this course is the variety of words one can learn from this course. I think the texts should slightly be changed in this course. Our college is the best.
