The college is good but when it comes to internship they don't have any exposure to that and the same is the case with placements.

The faculty members are very good. Every year conferences are held for students.
Placements: I'm pursuing a B.Com. in accounting with honours. My session is 2021–2024. So, I don't know about placement. But placements are done by the college in many companies. As far as I know, the salary package is satisfactory. Now a days, for bachelor's degree students to get jobs is very tough. But this college offers campusing.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel facility. WIFI is available in the library. The library is good, and various types of books are available there. We can take books from there to take the books, students have to make a library card, for which they have to give INR 200, which is refundable.
Faculty: The faculty members are very helpful. They teach in a very simple way. They not only take question-answer classes but also doubt-clearing classes. Most of the faculty members have completed their Ph.D. The laboratory subjects, like information technology, are held regularly. There is a shortage of computers.
Other: I chose B.Com Honours in Accountancy .

I am satisfied with this college in academic terms.
Placements: Almost 20% of students got placed in our course. Summer and winter placement programs were also offered. The top recruiting companies were TCS and Telegraph but we need to find jobs on our own.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities were not available. The infrastructure was good. Classrooms were well-equipped. The sitting arrangements were also better. It also provided a decent library and several books were available. Laboratory was well-equipped with computers and necessary gadgets.
Faculty: Faculty members were helpful. The teaching quality was better. They conducted our classes very well. They had a very distinct approach toward the students, and the studies were approached under the rules of Calcutta University. Semester exams were easy to cope with the subjects with the help of teachers.
Other: Our college was disciplined and cooperative. It also helped students in attaining various scholarships that were ongoing under the government scheme. Events and annual programs were not conducted in this college.

Absolutely satisfied because of the low fee.
Placements: Good college for taking an honors course. The IT department is very bad. Mostly, there are those students who got 98% to 65% in the higher secondary exam. There is no criteria for dividing students into sections. An IT cell accountant job role is offered to us. Top recruiting company is The Times of India.
Infrastructure: There are no hostel premises in the college; there is no Wi-Fi; there are no hostels; a small canteen is provided but not open all days of the week. The classrooms were so big, like in the British period. The labs are temporary for us.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, but there is a little bit difficulty we have to face in exams. Union is everywhere on campus. There is a little library there, but cost of library membership card is a little bit high. Every subject is not taught specifically. 4:30 to 8:50 p.m. is the college running time.
Other: No events or fests are organized.

I am not satisfied because of the infrastructure.
Placements: In our college, almost 15% to 20% of students are placed. Summer and winter internships are provided to students from the beginning of the course. Summer placements are offered to 2nd-semester students for the role of sales. The average stipend is Rs.5,000 for 2 months. Campus placements are offered to final-year students only. Top recruiting companies like TCS and IBM visit our campus.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not excellent but there is a library with lots of books that students can borrow or read books in the library itself. There is no hostel available for the students but there is a canteen with very affordable and quality food.
Faculty: Faculty members are good for students who know Bengali because most teachers start speaking Bengali between teaching lessons in English. The teaching quality is somewhat good. Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. The first-semester exam is rarely discussed because it is entirely based on the 11th and 12th syllabi.

It is a good college and worth the fee paid.
Placements: The salary packages offered at our college are good. Many students get placed in MNCs like IBM. Our college offers various internships. Around 2 internships are offered since 2021, and one of them is in the Times of India.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are not provided in our college. It is big as it is sufficient for hundreds of students. There is a smart room and s library where students can borrow books by getting registered. Classrooms are big enough to accommodate 100 students. Wi-Fi is not available but the canteen serves food at a reasonable price.
Faculty: Around 2 to 3 teachers out of 10 have the talent to make interesting subjects boring. Most of them are very helpful and friendly except a few. The difficulty of exams depends on students' preparation. If students study well, they can easily pass. The pass percentage is high.
Other: Students who fulfill certain criteria get the opportunity to apply for various scholarship programs.

Good and fun college life experince guaranteed.
Placements: I currently do not have much information about the placements. But according to the information I have gathered around half of the students were able to get good placements after graduating from this college. The top recruiting companies were Axis Bank,EY and IBM Concentrix. They usually get roles like Company Secretary,Sales Analyst etc. The package ranges around 10000-15000 per month.
Infrastructure: There was a canteen which offers good and healthy snacks to eat.The library is also excellent and offers goods service. We can borrow books whenever we want and it is spaceous enough to fit a lots of students who want to read some book or gather important study material. The staff are also helpful.
Faculty: I found most of the teachers teach very well and had excellent knowledge on the subjects they teach. They focus to teach us in a way which will not only help us to score good marks but also to gain the right knowledge. Though the course is slightly based on old methods which is not useful these days.
Other: I chose this course because I want to do M.com or MBA in future. So it was mandatory to take admission in this course. I wish this course used more newer and modern methods of problem solving in it's subjects (especially Accounts) instead of outdated methods. Here we sometimes get various events like sports events or events on occassions like Holi, Saraswati Puja etc.

    Admission FAQs

Q:   Is City College of Commerce and Business Administration good for B.Com?

    A:
    {Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Here's a summary of the key points:

    * Teaching Quality: Faculty members are generally helpful and knowledgeable, with most having PhD degrees. Classes are simple and interactive, with a focus on clearing doubts.
    * Placement Records: While the placement records vary, around 15-20% of students typically get placed, with salaries ranging from INR3-INR6 Lacs per annum. Recruiters include top companies like TCS, IBM, and Axis Bank.
    * Infrastructure: The college has a decent library, computer lab, and smart rooms. However, the infrastructure needs improvement, with issues like outdated equipment, lack of Wi-Fi, and limited seating capacity.
    * Campus Life: The college has a relaxed atmosphere, with no hostel facility available. The canteen food is considered affordable, but the quality is not always consistent.
    * Course Curriculum: The BCom course covers relevant topics, including accounting, finance, and economics. Some students find the coursework challenging, while others consider it manageable.
    * Student Support: The college has a dedicated placement cell and offers internships to students. However, some students report struggling to connect with teachers due to language barriers (Bengali being widely spoken).
    * Scholarships: The college offers scholarships, but these are limited and competitive. Additionally, some students receive external scholarships like Aikyashree, Swami Vivekanand Merit Cum Means Scholarship, and Kanyashree Prakalpa.

Overall, City College of Commerce and Business Administration appears to offer a solid foundation in BCom, with strengths in its faculty, location, and relatively affordable fees. However, improvements are needed in terms of infrastructure and student engagement. Prospective students should weigh these factors carefully when making their decision.
