College of Engineering Cherthala Review.
Placements: About half of the students from a batch are placed yearly in companies like Infosys, Wipro, and Suntech, etc., which are not product-based companies, but rather service-based. So, viewing from the perspective of placements, not a lot of good companies are there for recruiting. Even though the placement process is hard, there is a placement cell which prepares students for recruitment.
Infrastructure: I would say the infrastructure is somewhat okay for an institution, and it contains necessary facilities like a library, canteen, toilets for both men and women, sick rooms, labs, classrooms with projectors, Wi-Fi, playground, etc. As the hostel is near the college, students can use the canteen for food and the library to study.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified, and knowledgeable and know how to teach, but the student-to-teacher ratio is about 1:65, so it might create some issues for attention. The course, is relevant, but as the duration of the course is much less per semester, the students must focus on the subject with exams in mind, which reduces their knowledge to master that paper.
Other: I chose this course as I liked computer science from my childhood and wanted to understand it from a low-level perspective. If I were to improve the course, I would like to implement project-based learning and evaluation rather than exams, which don't evaluate a student throughout.

The college has a pass percentage above 95%.
Placements: About 95% of students from this batch were placed in different companies. Companies like Razorpay, Technologies, 6D Technology, etc. hire during this year. I also think the students placed in these companies are offered good packages. I think the starting salary was somewhere like 50–70k.
Infrastructure: There are different hostels for each year's students. The food in some hostels is provided by the hotels near them. The boys from the hostel play football almost daily on college grounds. There are like 4 or 5 hostels. They are close to the college. The Wi-Fi is bad .
Faculty: The staff is great and the teachers actually know what they are doing, except for some. I don't really think the students are industry-ready until the 3rd year, though. I felt like only the 5th semester was a bit tough. There are some teachers who care about us.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in it. There aren't many events going on. Most of the events are conducted by the students themselves.

Don't get trapped by the look's
Placements: In my course, 65% of students received placement offers. The highest package offered was 8 LPA, the lowest ranged between 1-2 LPA, and the average package was 3-4 LPA. Top recruiting companies included TCS, which was the main company. Regarding internships, 15% of students secured positions, primarily with TCS. The top roles offered in the course were predominantly Software Engineer positions.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for my course include well-equipped labs, spacious classrooms, a comprehensive library, and campus-wide Wi-Fi (though it's below average). The hostel is conveniently located near. The girls' hostel is far so transportation is provided. The hostel quality is decent with basic amenities, but Wi-Fi could be improved. The mess offers a variety of food options, although the quality can be inconsistent. Medical facilities are available out side the campus, and there are provisions for sports and games to ensure a balanced student life.
Faculty: The faculty for my course are generally helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is average, with some professors excelling in their fields. The curriculum is fairly relevant and designed to make students industry-ready, covering both theoretical and practical aspects. Semester exams are moderately challenging and conducted in a series over 2-3 days. The pass percentage is relatively high, indicating that most students can clear their exams with consistent effort.

An average college has low academic standards and placement.
Placements: There is an average placement, but salary packages are low; the average salary per year is about 2–3 LPA. The major companies are TCS Teachers Book, etc. There are almost 30 percent of students who will get placement. The highest package in college history is 16 LPA by rapzazor company in 2020. placement sometimes goes to 7 LPA also.
Infrastructure: The main positive of this college is that it has good infrastructure. There are lot of computer labs with high facilities, as well as a mechanical lab, electrical lab, electronics lab, etc. Lab facilities are very standard. The faculty members are also nice. The academic structure is bit tough. There is a hostel facility provided by our college. Every year, there are separate hostels. The hostel food is not upto to par; it is below average. Sport facilities are very good.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified. They are willing to help in any condition. But due to the tight schedule, some are unable to cover the topics. The course has a maximum 4 months of classes per semester and 1 month for exams. The semester exam is not that difficult for getting a pass mark, but for high marks, you need to study hard.
Other: I chose this college because for my KEAM rank, it is the best college. The college has higher academic facilities, and the sports facilities are also good. Very nice friendly enjoyable college campus. There are lot of events that occur, such as college day, arts festival, sports festivals, game competitions, etc.

A calm and quite atmosphere to learn and get good placements.
Placements: Above 65% of students got placed with good packages. Major companies were TCS, Cognizant, Wipro and many more. The highest package offered was 6 LPA, the lowest package offered was 2.8 LPA, and the average package was 3.4 LPA.
Infrastructure: All the classrooms are smart classrooms and Wi-Fi is there all over the college. There are several labs consisting new systems. Availability of boys hostel is difficult. Also there is a good canteen in the campus. Library consists of various technical books of different streams.
Faculty: All the teachers are highly qualified. The atmosphere is also good. Teachers will conduct extra classes for each subject. All the semester exams are conducted by following the guidelines of KTU and the valuation is also conducted by KTU.
Other: There will be several cultural and technical fests organized for students.

Life in this college is average and it is not that good or bad. Not that much stress.
Placements: In this college, about 40% of the students got placed each year. Some of the top recruiters visiting our college are TCS, Global Quest, IBS, and Impaqive. The top roles are full stack developer, and software developer positions on placements. The lowest package is 2.4 LPA. The highest package is 16 LPA. 1–2% of students got internships.
Infrastructure: Everyone have access to Wi-Fi. We have advanced computer labs. The classrooms have projectors. The canteen is small and below average. There are very few medical facilities. The library contains all the books related to academics. The sports are conducted once a year and are less encouraging.
Faculty: Most of the teaching staff are average but some are exceptionally good. The management and all the staff are very friendly and understanding. The curriculum doesn't prepare you for industry; it will only give us a basic idea about it. The exams are slightly above medium difficulty. It's manageable.
Other: I chose this course because of the wide range of opportunities and future scope it provide. The course teaches us the foundation of coding and prepares us for stressful conditions. To improve the course, there should be more hands-on experience. The college conducts sports and arts every year and a Techfest every 4 years.
