Q:   Is DBS Post Graduate College good for B.A.?

    A:
    {Source: B.A. students & alumni}

    * Infrastructure: The college's infrastructure is decent, with amenities such as a library, labs, classrooms, and a canteen. However, there are issues with cleanliness and maintenance.
    * Teaching Quality: Teachers are generally well-qualified and knowledgeable in their subjects. However, some students feel that they could benefit from more practical experience and guidance.
    * Curriculum: The course curriculum is relevant to the field of humanities and social sciences, but some students feel that it could be updated to include more modern concepts and practices.
    * Placement: Unfortunately, the college does not have a strong record of placing its graduates. While some students have reported getting internships, none have secured full-time employment through the college's efforts.
    * Overall Experience: Despite these limitations, students seem to enjoy their time at the college, with many participating in extracurricular activities such as sports, NCC, and NSS.

In conclusion, while DBS Post Graduate College may have some shortcomings, it appears to be a good option for those interested in pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Humanities and Social Sciences. However, prospective students should be aware of the challenges mentioned above and consider whether the college aligns with their career goals.

Absolutely a good college with the minimum fees, but some of things needs improvement..
Placements: I think around 40% of students in my batch are placed. I don't know about the package. I think 20 % to 30% of students got internship either by the company or an organisation. But I think college needs to improve their placement and internship facility. Top roles offered by my course is it gives you enhancement for the geographical occupation like surveyor, planner etc.
Infrastructure: Library, classrooms, reading room, labs, wi-fi, sports equipment, parking lot, CCTV etc. are available. Canteen is above average, sports equipment are good and medical facilities is average. College is now improving by making new things and digitalizing the college faculty.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are well qualified and well educated and they have enough knowledge to teach students. Yes it's very relevant from humanitarian perspective and knowing about the earth. Semester exams are of medium level and the passing percentage is 35% and syllabus is also enough for every semester.
Other: Because of the dynamic nature and for the understanding of earth Science. I think something that needs to improve is to make the course more practical oriented. Yes, some events and other activities are held in college during the period of the course.

Review of DBS Post Graduate College.
Placements: Our college has no placements. Top recruiting companies do not visit our campus. Our college is a government college that offers courses at very affordable prices but doesn't provide placements.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of our college are not good. Our classrooms don't have projectors, smart boards, or Wi-Fi. Our college has average infrastructure. Our classrooms and benches are damaged. The library is good, but the books are outdated. The hostel facilities are not available.
Faculty: Our teachers are not helpful. They are qualified. Most of them are Ph.D. holders. The teaching quality is good. They only try to cover the syllabus. The course curriculum is not relevant. We are so backward in this demanding society that we have no exposure to the practical world. Semester exams are easy. The pass percentage is 100%.
Other: I chose this course because I liked geography and landforms. The curriculum should be changed. The course is outdated. Some practical knowledge is required.

Not the best, but DBS PG college is better than most of the other colleges.
Placements: There is no such guarantee for the placements in this college but there are very good teachers and faculty who provide a lot of educational stuff and help the students. Every year, approximately 1500+ students take admission in this college. The seniors are also very helpful.
Infrastructure: As it is a government college, there is no hostel available in the campus. Students either live in PG or rent a room. Library is available. There are labs available for different departments, and the classrooms are fine. There is a canteen provided for the students and the teachers. A lot of sports and games are held once a year in the college and everyone enjoys it. There are so many events taking place in the college such as holi and new year events along with a fest which is held once a year for 1 week. The infrastructure of the college is decent and fine and the study environment is very good.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and excellent having a lot of knowledge in their respective subjects and they teach so well. The exams are also not very tough, you just have to see some PYQs to score passing marks. The passing percentage is 33/100 for this college.
Other: DBS PG college is a very small college in Dehradun but it provides very good education and I took B.A. because I want to go in the teaching profession and would like to do my M.A. from same college as well. So many activities take place in this college. NCC and NSS clubs are also available in the college. New events take place every year and students have lots of fun.

DBS Post Graduate College is a home college.
Placements: About 70% of students from our college got placed. There's no such thing as the lowest or the highest salary package. The average salary package offered is 2 LPA. They always change, no top companies visit the campus for placements. About 80% of students got internships. Social scientist, defense journalist, analyst, geologist, and various other jobs related to science and social science fields are offered.
Infrastructure: E- classes, good ample classrooms, libraries, and various other facilities like laboratory, museum, etc., are available on campus. The canteen is tender based. Our college has very good sports and games. I personally do boxing, kickboxing, and mixed martial arts (MMA) in college.
Faculty: The teachers and professors in our college are very helpful and intelligent in their particular fields and majors. The curriculum is indeed very relevant but it depends upon a particular student. They are easy but in some cases very difficult. It totally depends upon a particular student.

It is a good college, but only a few facilities are available.
Placements: There are no placements since it is a degree college, and students have to prepare for various exams while studying here. There are no top recruiters as there are no placements. None of the students for my or any batch has ever been placed from here. It is best if you prepare for government exams from here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very poor. There is no proper Wi-Fi or classrooms here. Classrooms are very dirty and are not cleaned properly. The furniture is very bad. The classrooms are not hygienic at all. There is no hostel facility here. Students have to avail PG or rooms on rent as the college doesn't provide hostel facilities.
Faculty: The teaching quality is good. The teachers are well-qualified. You'll have to struggle to find classrooms and teachers because there is no proper classroom. They teach anywhere they want without informing beforehand. So, this might be a struggle. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate, and you can easily pass if you've studied a little bit. 90% is the pass percentage.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in learning geography, and the best thing about my course is that it gives in-depth knowledge of geography and makes students understand the demography and geography of our earth. The only thing that I wish to be better in this course is proper guidance and mentoring, which is lacking in this college. We don't have proper study materials, so we have to do everything on our own. There are many political events in this college, and no other events. Connectivity is good. It is situated in the midst of the most popular area of Dehradun. The crowd is not that good as you don't see many people around here. There are some extracurricular activities like NCC and NSS.

The campus is great. The college has a playground and a Library for recreation.
Placements: 0% were placed from my course. No placement, so no data on the highest, the lowest or average package offered in my course. No top companies as no recruitment offered. No recruitment, no internship, no data on percentage of students who go placement. Only information is offered.
Infrastructure: There is a library, there is a nice playground for recreation and all. Wi-Fi is not available. Classrooms are decent. Library is decent. The teaching faculty on sociology is excellent. Very supportive and excellent professor. The DBS PG college is excellent for sports as well.
Faculty: Yes the teachers were helpful, few were not. Every teacher is qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is excellent. The curriculum is not really relevant. No, it absolute does not make the student industry ready. The exams are moderately easy. The pass percentage is around 40%.
Other: Sports events are held regularly.
