Review of IHM Chandigarh - Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management Catering & Nutrition.

Placements: According to the fee, the salary package offered is very low, and the fee hike is more.

Dissatisfied because of the poor and biased faculty, and low grade campus life.

Placements: Placements depend solely on your communication skills and personality for the other three departments except for kitchen where you need to be desperately passionate towards the field to get yourself skilful enough to get a job. Packages aren't very good, it would be around Rs. 15,000 per month to Rs. 20,000 per month on an average.

Average institute with good placements.

Placements: Good placements hut obviously not hundred percent. If you have good communication skills its easy for you to get a job and get paid around 25-30k if you are hired as an MT ( Management trainee) it is the best job a hotel management student can get into. You get a great increase in salary. The lowest salary you can get upto 12-15k per month from companies like OYO etc.

Good placements in past years and infrastructure.

Placements: Placements are good here. Packages offered is quite good. The companies come for different positions like supervisory, basic posts and also for manager trainee program. All the good hotel brands come here for the recruitment. Almost all the students have at least one job in their hand at the end of the final year. The students are also sent for internships at the leading hotel groups.

I have mixed reviews for this college. Firstly, this is a Central Government College and a well reputed Institute of Hotel Management. The Faculty Members are brilliant and have good knowledge about their subjects and its practical application. The Placements are excellent but the salary package in the Hotel Industry is relatively very low as compared to B.Tech or MBA. They provide lunch to students, which is also excellent. Negative things are, no sport facilities, no Wi-Fi, and you have to be...
