Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for MBBS students at ESI-PGIMSR Medical College and Hospital, Joka?

    A:
    {Source: MBBS students & alumni}

Success Rate of Placement Cell for MBBS Students

Unfortunately, there is no direct mention of the success rate of the placement cell in securing jobs for MBBS students at ESI-PGIMSR Medical College and Hospital, Joka. However, we can infer some general information about the college's efforts to place its graduates.

    * No specific information: None of the student reviews or testimonials mentioned specifically about the placement cell or its success rate.
    * Focus on infrastructure and facilities: Most of the descriptions focused on the college's infrastructure, such as the presence of a central library, well-equipped laboratories, and modern amenities like Wi-Fi and air-conditioning.
    * Emphasis on student life: Reviews highlighted the comfortable hostel accommodations, good mess facilities, and availability of indoor and outdoor games, indicating that the college prioritizes student welfare and comfort.

While this lack of information makes it difficult to assess the placement cell's effectiveness, it appears that the college focuses more on providing a conducive environment for students' personal growth and development rather than explicitly highlighting their career prospects. Therefore, it is essential for prospective students to research further and gather more detailed information about the college's placement record before making an informed decision.

It is one of the best government medical colleges.
Placements: There are 125 students in our batch. After completing 4-years of MBBS all the students have to do 1-year compulsory internship. The stipend is around Rs.25,000 per month. After 1 year of internship, there is a bond of 1 year in which ESI can place you in any ESIC Hospital or College. The salary offered ranges from Rs.80,000 per month to Rs.90,000 per month. Every student pursuing MBBS from ESIC gets internships and is obliged to serve one year of the bond period.
Infrastructure: Our college has best infrastructure. Our campus environment is good. Hostel infrastructure is excellent. Classrooms and laboratories are well-equipped. There is a central library. The food served in the mess is average.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-qualified and passionate about their profession. Apart from the theory classes, we also have clinical case studies. The patient load is not huge but sufficient to give opportunities to every student.

    Really good hostel life.
Placements: I am a student of this college of batch 2020. We have to complete a 4.5 year course and a compulsory internship of 1 year in the same college. For the 12 month internship students need to pay about 26k per month. After that (for ESIC quota students) students have to serve a bond period of 1 year with 80k per month.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the campus is awesome. The facilities available here are library, canteen, gym, football ground, badminton court, table tennis court etc. Wi-Fi facilities are available in the library and mess. Single room hostel facilities are provided for both boys and girls. Mess food is also appreciable.
Faculty: The faculty members of the college are helpful. The teachers are well qualified and are very helpful. Separate departments and classes are provided for doubt clearance. Here we are following the curriculum provided by NMC. Exams are conducted by WBUHS. This institution has got a high pass percentage in the past years.

I am not satisfied because of its faculty members.
Placements: Internships are part of this course. Students have to do a year of paid internships in our college before they are given the degree. After passing, students are bound to serve under ESIC at any hospital across India for 1 year at the central government pay scale.
Infrastructure: This college has multiple lecture theatres, well-equipped laboratories for each department, and discussion rooms. Central air-conditioning systems and Wi-Fi facilities are available in the academic buildings. Every department has its departmental library. It contains published books on the subject. It also provides a central library, and several books, journals, and magazines are available. Huge reading halls and computer laboratories are available. Students are provided with single rooms in the hostel at a minimal cost. Indoor and outdoor games facilities are provided. A gym is also available. Mess is good and serves lunch and dinner. A canteen is provided on campus. Medical facilities are free for students in the hospital. The emergency is open round the clock. There is a pharmacy on campus as well.
Faculty: Our faculty members are highly qualified and helpful. Each department has sufficient faculty members to teach and look after student's needs. Both theory and practical classes are held regularly. NMC guidelines are strict. CBME is being followed from the 2019 batch onwards. Internal assessments are held regularly for every batch, and at the end of the academic session, students have to appear for university examinations based on which promotion is given.
Other: There is sufficient patient turnover and competency for a professional career at the hospital. Cultural and sports events are held throughout the year. An annual fest is organised by this college administration every year with negligible disturbances. This college is situated on Diamond Harbour Road, and it is well connected via buses and autos. Joka-BBD bag metro is also about to start services improving the connectivity manifold. The only disadvantage is that the fee is considerably higher than the state government colleges of West Bengal.

At the rank of 4,70,000 it is not possible to pursue MBBS in ESI JOKA as in India. Seats are very less as compared to the appearing candidates and the competition is too high.

My advice is to reattempt the NEET exam for 2025.
