Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.) - Batch of 2024

Our college is the best and the cheapest in the field of fisheries.
Placements: Nearly 85%–90% of students get placed. The highest salary is recorded at 45 lacs per annum and an average salary is about 10 lacs per annum. Companies like Godrej Agrovet, IBM, and Biostadt come to recruit students. During Masters, students get an INR 30,000 per year scholarship and internships are different. Roles like campus ambassador, etc. are offered.
Infrastructure: Our campus is not so big but very well organized. We have smart classrooms and up-to-date chemical labs are there as well. Our library has thousands of books and some of them are very rare to get. Hostels are spacious and airy. Wi-Fi facility is available in the hostel. For sports, we have a big playground, a tennis court, and a volleyball court. For medical facilities, we have a doctor's chamber on campus as well.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and very helpful. They help us in the classroom as well as in the laboratory. They are extremely knowledgeable. This course is very futuristic and has a good scope. Semester exams are moderately tough to pass. The passing percentage is 50%.
Other: I learned about the course from my friends. And I am lucky to get that. I think laboratories should be developed more. Events like the All India Agri-University Fest and the All India Sports Meet are arranged by them as well. Scholarships, like SVMCM and university scholarships, are provided to the students.

Our college is the best in the field of fisheries.
Placements: Our college provides a very good placement in the government fishery sector. There is also the opportunity to go into the private sector at various levels. Generally, about 60–70% of students got placed in various companies. About 20–30% of students got the chance to do higher studies in other states and other countries as well. It's our pride.
Infrastructure: As our course is authorized by ICAR, it has a broad scope worldwide. The 4-year bachelor's course will give you a brief knowledge of fisheries. And the hostels are in very good condition with proper security. And there is a good bond between seniors and juniors.
Faculty: In this course, there are 8 semesters, which will cover the course in 4 years. There are educational tours, student-ready programs, and training as well. The teachers are very efficient in their departments. Semester exams are not so tough. If students read and learn from classes properly throughout the year, there will be no chance of low scores.
Other: The college campus is beautiful, with green nature and a soothing environment. There, the students are involved in various sports, cultural activities, NSS programs, and special day celebrations in a big auditorium or on college grounds. I am very satisfied, as I chose this college to complete my favorite course. This is a professional course through which I can grow professionally in my field. And the best thing is that this course is very helpful to becoming an entrepreneur.

Satisfied and feel proud to say I'm a student at the Faculty of Fisheries Sciences, WBUAFS.
Placements: Our course is basically fishery-related; this is the only college in West Bengal. Only 44 students get the chance every year in this course through counseling based on their 12th board exam. Once you get admission, after 4 years, several companies like Godrej, Agrovet and MPEDA come for student campusing. Not only that, every year, about 20–30 students get internships in these above-mentioned companies and the package is about INR 15-20 lacs per annum; hence, this course is a good opportunity for B.F.Sc. students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the faculty is outstanding. Because this is only one fishery campus in West Bengal, the lab infrastructure, Wi-Fi facility, classroom, hatchery management, wet lab, hostel facility, and canteen are all excellent. A medical facility is also there, and an indoor hospital is also available. Hygiene, healthy and good quality are being provided. Indoor and outdoor game facilities are available. Moreover, tournaments and annual sports are also held every year.
Faculty: There are a total of nine departments, which we have to learn for four years. The course teachers are very knowledgeable and they are from different states, country and top universities. Doubt clearing class is also there twice a week. This course is fully curriculum-related, which not only provides knowledge but also enhances our curriculum and helps in developing personalities, which makes students ready for any company or industry in the future. If we talk about semester exams, there are a total of two exams in a semester, one internal and another external; class tests are also there. Semester exams are quite hard; the questions are very standard in nature and the pass percentage is 50%.
Other: The best things about the course are it's uniqueness and future opportunities, which attract me more to get admission. The surroundings are too good; scholarships are also provided; fest, and college programs are also held in order to make students' lives enjoyable.

So one line for fishery - Grow fish and grow with the fish.
Placements: 1. 99% of students are placed in different sectors. Also, government posts like fishery extension officers can be done with this degree. 2. The highest package is INR 1 lakh, and the lowest is INR 35 thousand. 3. Godrej is the largest recruiting company. 4. 30% student get internships in Godrej company. 5. Scientists, assistant professors, etc. are the top roles offered.
Infrastructure: 1. All departments provide a free Wi-Fi system, and all departments have two 3 labs for doing practical work; classrooms have AC and a projector for seminar purposes; and our library contains a variety of books and journals that provide data all over the world. 2. The hostel is very good and the foods that are provided are like those of our home; they are perfectly made. For medical facilities, there is always a doctor in the faculty, and the students of our faculty are really good at football, cricket, and table tennis. There is also a table tennis playing area and a basketball ball area in the faculty and the playground for football and cricket is also very big. There are three sports tournaments, and a special annual sports event happens in the faculty.
Faculty: 1. All the professors are very well educated and their knowledge is so vast. The main thing is how they taught us the theory and practicals, which are excellent. We really quickly understood all the problems. 2. Yes, this course makes the students ready for other fields and for industry. 3. Difficult means if you study well, it is really easy and will help in your future studies, and anyone who is not studying should know what to say. The percentage for passing is 50%, both for theory and practical.
Other: 1. I chose this course because I have an interest in fish so after high school I chose this course through the ICAR AIEEA entrance exam. The best thing in this course for me as a Bengali student is to know more about fish and nutritive value, as well as different anatomical and behavioral studies. 2. In this course, everything is good, but nothing can be improved. Only all universities that provide B.F.Sc. degree programs should provide good practical fieldwork for mainly undergraduate students; this should be maintained. 3. Events like all Bengal events, Teachers Day, Environment Day, Fisheries Day, etc. are happening. Events like the annual festival, annual sports, freshmen welcome, and farewell program happen. Saraswathi Puja also happens. There are not many people on campus. It is okay. The surroundings are really good; the locality is near a market, a metro station, and a railway station. For students in West Bengal, Swami Vivekananda Cum Merit Scholarships are given by the CM. Also, for those who get any scholarship, the university provides a scholarship. Icar students from other states get national scholarships.

A table of fishery Sciences by Ankush .
Placements: Nearly 100% of students get placed but college is not arranging that, you've to do it on your own Average salary for a fresher range from 25 to 30k per month. Companies like IFB Agro, Godrej Agrovet, Virbac, CP, Avanti, Growell etc. Internships are not provided by the companies, it's provided by the university and ICAR FEO, Feed Technician, Buisness offices etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi only in library and departments, classrooms are average, projector, AC are there. Library is full of essential books. Labs are not well, various instruments, equipments are missing. Food is good, mostly tasty food, canteen is not there, food is provided in students mess 2 times. Medical doctors both homoeopathy and allopathy is there. Sports and games are good but needs improvement.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and most of them are helpful not all. Teaching quality is good but not in all teachers. This course curriculum is vast. They taught you extra than what you actually need in the field or industry. Student Ready Programs are there to make you industry ready. The semesters are not that difficult but bare minimum study is needed.
Other: I chose this course for the comparatively less competition and job aspects. The best thing about that course is that you get many chances to travel country. The curriculum needs improvement. 10 courses per semester is too much. Many events such as unmesh, Agomoni, throughout year. University merit scholarship is there.

Best college in West Bengal for fisheries.
Placements: After 10+2, you can join this college on the basis of your scores through an online application. After completion of the degree, you can easily get jobs, at least for INR 25k–30k in the beginning, and moreover, you can get a government job as an FEO in blocks. You can join the fish companies; every year, many of the students go for these jobs.
Infrastructure: Everything is available. The food provided by the mess is very good and at a very low price. And no extra charges are applied for hostel rent and that is the minimum that is included with the semester. Most students get into the hostel and experience a very new and good environment. There are also facilities for indoor and outdoor gaming.
Faculty: There are a total of 8 semesters. In every semester, you will learn new things about fish and fisheries and how to grow fish. And every little thing will be taught by the faculty members that will make you future-ready. Exams are not that hard if you attend all the classes of the class teachers properly and there is not much pressure.
