B.Sc. in Cognitive Science - Batch of 2024

A great college for exploring cognitive science at the bachelor's level.
Placements: Dayalbagh Educational Institute in Agra teaches cognitive science, an emerging and exciting field in India. Although there are few bachelor's level placement possibilities. The curriculum prepares students for research assistant roles and advanced study at top universities like IITs and CBCS Allahabad. About 70-80% of students land internships in research labs or cognitive science-oriented initiatives. Therefore acquiring invaluable practical experience. Research assistantships are among the top positions. Many graduates advance to master's programs at prestigious cognitive science institutions. This program creates a strong basis for advanced academic and research careers.
Infrastructure: Dayalbagh Educational Institutes B.Sc. cognitive science department is well-equipped with modern labs such as an EEG lab, an eye tracker lab, Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms, and a small library for cognitive science and interdisciplinary research. Hostel facilities offer clean and spacious rooms with regular maintenance. The food quality in the mess is good, hygienic, and nutritious. The campus also has excellent medical and sports facilities. It ensures a balanced and comfortable student life.
Faculty: Faculty members for B.Sc. cognitive science at DEI are a mix as the course is relatively new. While 2-3 professors are highly knowledgeable and helpful. Others lack the same level of expertise. However, the program encourages self-driven research. It allows students to explore their interests independently. The curriculum is well-structured and semester-based. We have 2 internal exams. They are conducted for 40 marks each. Overall internal assessment is held for 150 marks. External exams are conducted for 50 marks. This course is mainly research-oriented and doesn't directly prepare students for industry roles. It provides a strong foundation for academics and research careers.
Other: I chose B.Sc. cognitive science because I've always been fascinated by the human mind and wanted to explore how the brain and mind work. This interdisciplinary course offers a unique blend of subjects like neuroscience, AI, philosophy, human behavior, anthropology, and linguistics, which is one of its best features as we can learn them together. Most of my batchmates are not entirely sure why they picked this course, but I have a clear vision and a genuine interest in the field. While the course structure is well-designed, I feel it could benefit from more practical application and additional expert faculty to enhance the learning experience. On the brighter side, the institution fosters creativity with events like the annual day celebration, where students showcase their projects and creative works in exhibitions. Campus life is lively with a diverse crowd. The institute provides opportunities for extracurricular and co-curricular activities. Overall, it is a great place for students who want to study mind, brain, and artificial intelligence as well.

College is too overrated, but now it has to be improved.
Placements: The percentage of students placed was around 10–15 students out of 100. The lowest package was INR 2 LPA, and the highest was around INR 8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Ind Hydro, Mother Dairy, and Dhanuka Seeds. Around 35 students out of 100 have gone on internships. The recruiting companies are Ind Hydro, Dhanuka Seeds, Kamadgiri, and IVRI Bareilly. The top roles offered are agronomist, researcher, sales manager, etc.
Infrastructure: Hostels are outdated and far from the main campus. WiFi support is not there. Our library is good. It is a digital library, and along with it, medical facilities are also good. The quality of the food is medium. The labs are well maintained and up-to-date; every necessary piece of equipment is used, and professional lab assistants are there.
Faculty: The teachers and staff are also very experienced and knowledgeable. The curriculum structure is good. The difficulty of the exams is moderate; passing them is not too tough. The syllabus of our course is very relevant. Our teachers are well qualified and trained.
Other: The college provides scholarships to the required students. Classrooms should be improved, and practically speaking, more classes should be included.

Don't come here! The only positive is a substantial education in less amount!
Placements: The college has the worst placement record. There are no proper companies hiring, and under the name of placements, they offer jobs with salaries of 20,000 per month in expensive cities like Bangalore. The placement percentage is very low. For the past five years, there have been no proper companies for our course especially.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is okay. The Wi-Fi, labs, and library are alright. But the number of students is very high, and the classrooms cannot accommodate that many. The quality of food is very poor. The college does not support any sports.
Faculty: The faculty is very qualified and experienced. The exams conducted by the college are alright, but the course curriculum is very poor. The professors cover a fraction of the syllabus but leave out a major chunk, which is important and will be a problem for us in the future.
Other: I chose this college due to the low fees. My family couldn't afford high fees, so I chose it.

It is the best college in Agra.
Placements: There are no placements for B.Sc. Our college provides placements for job-oriented courses like BBA Polytechnic, B.Tech, etc.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are very spacious and clean. The library and labs are good. Wi-Fi is not available to students. The hostel facility is available for outer students at a very minimal charge. Our college provides good transportation facilities. Students can easily attend college regularly by public transport.
Faculty: Our college has very good and qualified faculty members. They are recruited through a very high standard selection procedure. They are Ph.D. holders and NET-qualified. Professors are from Central University. Exams are moderate.
Other: If you don't want to go outside of Agra for your studies, you must join our college.

Our college provides average placements and good infrastructure.
Placements: In our batch, approximately 25% of students got placed in our course. Concentrix, TCS, and Pixel Truth were the top recruiting companies. Around 10-15% of students got internships in companies like Cadence, Byjus, etc. Top role offered was senior tech developer in Techshefz.
Infrastructure: Our college is very good because it has its production area. There was dairy farming in which milk and cakes and other stuff were made. Our campus was clean. At that time DEI secures the 5 ranks in the entire UP to have a clean university. Mobile phones were not allowed on campus. Only Ph.D. scholars can use mobile phones. Laboratories were good and many computers were available. There were two big halls for the computer center. Around 2 laboratories were available for mechanics. There was 1 laboratory for optics and one laboratory for the personal experiment that was conducted by one of our senior professors.
Faculty: Our course curriculum was good. All teachers were well qualified in their particular field. Our course curriculum was formed in a way that the students can easily clear the JAM or GATE exams. Semester exams were not difficult. We get a question bank from our teachers, and it consists 100 questions from all 5 units. There were 5 questions that come during exams and it was under QB.
Other: Our campus life was not good. Students cannot use mobile phones on campus. Most of the students take rooms outside the campus hostel. The fee structure ranges between Rs.3,000 - Rs.35,000, and monthly expenses were Rs 10,000. For engineering, the fee was Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 per semester. Extracurricular activities like robotics, AI laboratory, etc., were good. Regular competitions were also conducted in our college.

Absolutely satisfied with the college .
Placements: For almost 40–45 students in the class, the average package placement offered by the company in the course was 2–3 lacs per year. Top companies were not recruiting for this course because the value increased after the PG and internship programs were held by the college during summer vacation for everyone who's interested in participating and working with teachers .
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facilities are available in campus and inside the classroom, as well as 3–4 labs for Computer Science students to practice and do work in. There is also a library on whole campus. All types of books are available for students of any course they need, and you can issue the books for home study. Classrooms are maintained in good condition and areas or classes are also broad and have projectors for teachers to display their screens for students. A canteen, sports room, medical facility, etc. are available.
Faculty: All teachers are highly qualified from big institute and universities (IIT, NIIT, etc.). Almost all teachers were experienced for 10–15 years in teaching line and their way of teaching were good to describe single sentences, and exam patterns and class test arrangements were also good according to timetable .
Other: Good campus for boys and girls .
