Q: Is G S College of Commerce & Economics, Jabalpur good for B.Com?
A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}
Based on the reviews and feedback from current and former students, here's what you need to know:
* Teaching: The college has helpful, friendly, and well-qualified teachers who provide good guidance and support.
* Placement: Unfortunately, the college does not have a strong placement record for B.Com graduates. According to students, the college focuses more on providing theoretical knowledge rather than preparing students for the workforce. While some companies may visit the campus for recruitment, students often have to find employment opportunities on their own.
* Infrastructure: The college's infrastructure is average, with old classrooms and limited facilities. Wi-Fi connectivity is not available, making it challenging for students to access online resources.
* Facilities: The college has a decent library, laboratory facilities, and a hygienic canteen. However, the quality of these facilities varies according to students' feedback.
* Campus Life: The college campus is generally peaceful, with a mix of classroom buildings, libraries, and recreational spaces. However, some students have reported issues with attendance, lack of extracurricular activities, and poor communication regarding events and announcements.
Overall, while G S College of Commerce & Economics, Jabalpur may offer a good education in terms of teaching and academics, its limitations in terms of placement, infrastructure, and facilities might affect the overall student experience. It's essential for prospective students to weigh these factors before making a decision.

Our college is good with great campus life.
Placements: A good number of placements were offered. Many students go for higher studies in the same college. Different companies hire a great number of students from the campus. College was strict with a dedicated placement cell. A good number of placements were provided with needed facilities.
Infrastructure: Library was made separately with other lab facilities. Campus provided proper Wi-Fi system and water supply. There is a hygienic canteen with proper meal.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful, friendly, and well qualified and their way of teaching was good. Exams were conducted strictly based on the syllabus. Exams were taken with relevant questions and were helpful for the students.
Other: College was good with campus crowd.

There is a satisfying study environment and helpful teachers.
Placements: Our college offers many courses in bachelor as well as in masters. I have done a bachelor degree, so I haven't tried for placements there. However, as per our seniors, our college is very helpful in placements. It always tries to make students get the best.
Infrastructure: In our college, the environment was calm and had a good vibe as there were many departments. There were separate teachers for departments to avoid any confusion. The quality of food served in the canteen was fine, and discipline was maintained in our classrooms. Our computer lab sir was helpful and was always available to guide.
Faculty: Our college was very helpful and focused on providing practical knowledge in order to make students industry-ready. Teachers here were qualified and knowledgeable. They teach and try their best to clear all the doubts which students face. Moreover, if needed, they help outside the college to make students aware of the situation.

My three-year journey in GS College.
Placements: Campus placements are held in the college every year, mostly with technical companies, life insurance companies, and commercial companies participating. Since the majority of students opt for another institution for their master's, not many placements are accepted by the students. One thing to note is that Reliance Jio came for placements in our college last year.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility is unfortunately not available in the college. However, it consists of three buildings, which include the autonomous cell, women empowerment cell, student cell, and computer department cell (with two well-equipped and furnished computer labs), along with a whole separate building for the library. The infrastructure is well built, and there are two basketball courts too.
Faculty: Teachers are highly experienced, qualified, and friendly; they do their best to explain concepts. For all UG courses, the curriculum is almost the same. The exam pattern consists of a total of 100 marks, including a 10-mark Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) exam, a 20-mark assignment, and a 70-mark written test. If you opt for B.Com Computer Application (which I did) or BCA, then you have 200 marks for the elective subject, with 100 marks for the separate practical. Exams are not too difficult; if you study well, they are manageable.
Other: Honestly, I chose B.Com Computer Application for my love of both commerce and technology, and it was not too tough for me as I enjoy the subjects. Events like induction programs, festival celebrations, NCC, basketball, various sports, and yoga are held.

Good for Jabalpur student who can go private.
Placements: College is good. Faculty is also very supportive. Ncc is also available
Canteen facility is also there.
Huge support for sports.
classrooms are well mannered and students are studying by projectors, fee structure is also very good and middle class people can afford this.
Infrastructure: Hostel and infrastructure is also good there are various facility there like kitchen beds separate bathroom Wi-Fi water cooler etc. Middle class person can easily afford the fees but I live near by taking a room as rent because hostel is not good for proper studying student.
Faculty: Good and supportive faculty placement are good as this is not a engineering college but there are many MNCs come for recruitment of the students to provide them good package so that they can get high income and support tier family and will go for tier higher promotions.
Other: B.Com.

Dissatisfied because of placements, lack of technology and bad infrastructure.
Placements: There are no placements conducted in the college. The college provides only degrees and not placements. No company has visited the campus for placements in 3 years of my graduation. Students can get a degree from the college and try to get placed on their own. Students can not enjoy their college life here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is in very old. Classrooms are not much good. All kinds of facilities are available but are not useful. Wi-Fi, which is the most important facility required for today's students, is not available. Classrooms are old with old seating arrangements.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good and knowledgeable. But, the issue is that only 5 to 6 classes are conducted a day. Students have to self-study to pass the exam.
Other: All the functions are organised, but the students are not able to know when and where the function is being held. Lack of technology is an issue in our college.

The college is average and if you are seeking only for degree than it is best for you.
Placements: If we talk about the placement of GS then it is quite sad as GS won't focus on placement instead they focus mainly on providing the learnings and experiences on further studies. If we talk about other branches of specialisation then there's some companies who visited the college.
Infrastructure: If we talk about the infrastructure of GS college then it is not as good as the other colleges, but the basic infrastructure was there to provide you a great learning. Campus is full of class rooms, library research centre and also the playground. Sports equipment is also available to take a rest from studies.
Faculty: If we talk about the faculty of GS college then you can rely on this college as faculty members have a good experience in their academic as well as in teaching. All you have to do is to gain as much as you can if you are in GS. There is also different faculty members for different subjects so that you can explore or gain more from them.
