Review of Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration.

Placements: Very few companies visit our college for campus recruitment and only the cream layer gets recruited. Being in Kolkata, the package is not very extravagant; the median package lies somewhere between 1.8 and 3 LPA. Overall, a substantial number of students don't opt for campus recruitment .

Honest review of Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration .

Placements: My sister just passed out a year ago from this college and they had only one company for hiring, which selected none of the students. That's the condition of this college. This year, it has organized placement for the 6th semester. And companies like Big 4, Deloitte, KPMG and PWC come for hiring.

Our college provides quality education at a minimum fees.

Placements: Placement facility over here is average. So far I've seen only 3 companies and one of them is Big Fours. Only 4 to 6 students got selected out of 120 approximately. The salary package offered is quite decent. Companies like E&Y and Deloitte come to give placements. No higher posts were offered, students were hired as freshers.

The college and its infrastructure are really good.

Placements: Mostly, brilliant students from the commerce section got placed as this is an A grade college and the competition in this college is very tough. Students with the aggregate above 84%, got a chance to get placed from this college. Many popular companies visit the campus for placements. Deloitte has come to offer job opportunities to the students last year. Students are offered the roles of accountant, stock keeper, advisory and many other roles. Approximately, 15% of the students got internships.

Dissatisfied with the faculty.

Placements: The placement opportunities before my batch were not too many. Fortunately, from our batch onwards, the placement opportunities increased with 2 of the big and four audit firms worth mentioning. Approximately 30% of the students got placed across various companies.

I would not recommend this college to any topper until and unless this is the last option for them.

Placements: It is sad to say that the college does not provide its students with any placement opportunities. It is very derogatory for students more because the cut off of the college is never below 90%. After having scored well on boards, we put our faith in the college that it would provide us with a platform wherein we can try and make our lives better. Sadly, Goenka has nothing but the name .

It is a simple college with regular classes and campus fun but lacks standard crowd. But it’s still fun to be in such a reputed college. Yes, you will not have the biggest fest or other events but being involved is always fun. So, I recommend people who wish to get good grades in B.Com must try this college.

The fee structure is very low about Rs. 100 per month. So, it is affordable and the location is also good has a good brand. There are two slots for the students-morning session and afternoon session and both being co-ed but the college authorities can at times be very insensitive. In Kolkata, it has a good brand name but it lacks infrastructure. Overall, looking at the fees and brand name, I would recommend it to the ones who did not make it to St Xavier’s in Kolkata or other top 10 colleges.

Good option if you want to study from Kolkata.

Placements: Compared with other top tier colleges offering the same course, placement was below par. Only 11 out of 500+ students got placement in our batch. However the salary offered to these students was decent along with plethora of perks including option for higher education sponsored by the company itself.

Only good if you just want a degree.

Placements: 15 out of the batch of 500 got placed. 2.5 lacs to 3 lacs is the range of package offered. No internship is offered from the college. Placement is not given any importance in this college. You have to manage it on your own. Few vacancies are posted on the notice board but they are of no use as the placement cell does not take much efforts.
