IIM Shortlist 2025 - The 21 Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) campuses will start the shortlisting of candidates for PGP/MBA admission 2025 from the first week of January 2025. The IIM PI shortlist will be released online and candidates will be able to apply through login. The WAT-PI round will be held in March and April for all IIMs. All the IIMs will complete the final selection process by the end of May 2024. Candidates will be informed about their selection via email. They can also check their admission status by logging on to official websites of IIM institutes. The IIM shortlisting of candidates is based on their CAT score. The qualifyig CAT 2024 cut offs were released by several IIMs and they are between 80-90 percentile (General category). The final CAT 2024 cut offs were much higher as always.

IIMs Shortlist 2025 Status
The IIM shortlisting process includes online application submission by candidates for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) and selection of candidates for the same based on their CAT 2024 result and academic record. Candidates have to fill the shortlist forms to participate in WAT-PI using their CAT login IDs. The WAT-PI round will be conducted in March-April. Q: How much percentile is a good score in CAT exam?
The CAT (Common Admission Test) is a highly competitive entrance exam for admission to various management programs offered by top business schools in India. The percentile score in CAT exam is based on the relative performance of the test taker compared to all the other test takers.
The cutoff percentile for admission to top business schools varies from year to year and also depends on factors such as the number of candidates, difficulty level of the exam, and the number of available seats. In general, a percentile score of 90 or above is considered a good score and can help you secure admission to some of the top business schools in India. However, to increase your chances of admission to the top-tier business schools, a percentile score of 95 or above is preferred.
Q: What is sectional cutoff in CAT exam?
Sectional cut off in CAT exam refers to the section wise percentiles required by the candidate for making it to the Personal Interview round of the IIMs or other top MBA colleges. Q: How much CAT score is required for MBA at IIM Ahmedabad?
IIM Ahmedabad considered two kinds of CAT scores for MBA admission - Qualifying and Final score. Qualifying CAT score is the minimum sectional and overall CAT score used to shortlist students for the Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. Candidates above minimum cutoffs in the sectional percentile ranks, the overall percentile rank and having a positive (greater than zero) raw score in all sections of CAT are considered for the next stage. Final CAT score is cutoffs are the basis of which the candidates are called for final selection after the AWT and PI rounds are over. The overall CAT qualifying cutoff for 2022 admission at IIM-A stood at 80 for General category candidates while the final cutoff is considered to stand between 99 and 100 percentile. Once the CAT result is announced, the candidates are asked to apply for WAT/GD-PI round by each IIM on its official website basis their CAT score vs CAT cut offs.
Stage 2: Screening of candidates for WAT-GD-PI
In the second stage, the institute shortlists the candidates who applied for WAT-GD-PI on the basis of their CAT score and academic record, and send then WAT-GD-PI invite.

Q: Are Class 12 marks important for IIM Indore?
The weightage given to Class 12 marks while shortlisting candidates for the personal interview round is 40%, which is the highest among other factors. However, while preparing the final merit list after PI round for admission offers, the weightage of class 12 marks comes down to 10%. Hence, it can be concluded that having a good score in Class 12 is an advantage for candidates seeking admission to IIM Indore MBA.

In the third stage, the composite score of each candidate is calculated on the basis of parameters such as CAT score, WAT-PI performance, academic history, work experience, diversity, etc. to finalise their selection.
