An excellent college with almost 100% placements, the best faculty members and laboratories.

Placements: I have recently completed my 1st year in this college. Students of the batch 2019 already got placed, except one. The highest salary package offered was 8 LPA, while the lowest salary package offered was 3.5 LPA. The placement process started in October. The average salary package offered was 4 to 4.5 LPA. From the previous batch (2017-2018), I heard from my seniors and teachers that 80-90% of the students were placed. Companies like Vedanta, St Gobain Glass, TRL Krosaki, etc., visited the campu...

Gcect -the family outside house.

Placements: The placement in ceramic technology department is very good thanks to our faculty and Hod with various refractory glass whiteware companies coming for campus interview. The placement record often reaches 100% with packages ranging from 3 -8 LPA. The placement records can be viewed from the college website.

Dissatisfied with the infrastructure and faculty, but the placements are good.

Placements: From our batch of 36 students, 31 students got placed, one has opted for entrepreneurship, another for M.Tech, and the rest of the students were preparing for government jobs. The average salary package offered was 4-5 LPA. The placement scenario in the previous year was nearly the same. The highest salary package offered was 6.3 LPA, and the lowest package was 3 LPA.

It is an affordable college in Kolkata.

Placements: The college provides decent placements. Our TPO helps us a lot. Placements are really good for the ceramic department. Placements for IT and CSE are comparatively not that good. However, the college is really trying to hard to improve the situation. Right now, the placement rate for CSE and IT is around 50%.

Decent Government College for someone who can't afford expensive private colleges.

Placements: The training and placement officer tries a lot but owing to small batch size most companies invite the college for pool campusing only. The CSE and IT department have around 60 percent placement while the ceramic department has around 80 percent placement.

The college has very good infrastructure and placements. Teachers are very helpful.

Placements: Placements in our college are going very well. Only a few students were left unplaced. Already 80% of students were placed. The highest salary package offered was 7 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 3 LPA. Almost 60% of the students got internships in well-reputed companies. Last year, almost 90% of the students got placed.

If you have not got admission in IIT, NIT or Jadavpur College, you can join here.

Placements: Placements in our college are nice. About 70%-80% of the students got placed. The highest salary package offered is 7 -8 LPA. Students got placed in companies like TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, Accenture, and IBM, etc. The lowest salary package offered was around 3.3 LPA. The average package offered was 4-5 LPA. Both on-campus and off-campus drives are organised here.

The college is exactly like what a government college should be; it is an ideal example.

Placements: The placements during our batch were not good at figures because the IT industry was facing some major problems with recruitment. But till now, in fact within December, all of my batchmates got placed, and 60% of the current batch is already placed. Each of them is being offered 3 or 4 jobs at a time which is excellent.

Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology (GCECT) is a good college.

Placements: Placements are good only for the students of the ceramic technology department. The placements of the CSE and IT departments are poor. Many companies like Amazon, CTS and TCS visited the college for placements. Almost 40% of the students were offered internships. There is a placement cell. Students of our senior batch were offered good placement opportunities. Overall, the college is good and well-maintained.

The college is great to pursue B.Tech.

Placements: This college has excellent placement records in ceramic technology. Lots of companies visit the college to offer placements to the students. According to the records of the last four years, around 35-37 students out of 40 got placed in the campus placements.

Review of a Government College (which isn't JU or BESU).

Placements: The placements were good for the first 2 rounds. Then we were referred to off campus recruitment events and mass recruitment events. The companies that came on campus were Wipro, Capgemini and Veda IIT. The average salary was 3lpa. There were internship offers but from my succeeding batch.

Worth the money, being a government college, but one has to make their own way for everything else.

Placements: Placements not at all good. Only 6 students placed this year in the forest slot of placements at Wipro technologies, compared to 19 last year and 31 the year before. Capgemini and Tech Mahindra have stopped visiting. For Ceramic Technology department placements have been very good year after year. The first few companies like Saint Gobain Glass offer a package as high as 7.5LPA. Internships are zero. A student has to search on their own for Internships. There is a placement cell on pen and paper...

Good value for money, decent infrastructure and faculty members. Placement opportunities limited.

Placements: The college provides decent placement opportunities, almost 100% placement is provided in ceramic stream, for IT and CSE the placement isn't that good, selective companies come for on campus placement. Wipro selects an average of 20 students every year.

Come, live into the GCECT family.

Placements: As this is one of the first ceramic colleges of the country, we have alumni in the topmost positions and tie-ups with companies, so placements of the ceramic technology students are 100%. But, for the information technology, it's 30%, and for the CSE it's around 50%. For the ceramic students, the average package is Rs. 5 lakh of CTC while for the CSE and IT students it's Rs. 3.5 lakhs of CTC. The big names of placements here are the Vedanta, Saint-Gobain glass, Grindwell Norton insulator, JSW, H...

The college provides friendly teachers, good instructors with better placements.

Placements: Last year placement percentage of IT is about 60% The highest package is about 6.5 LPA and the lowest is 3 LPA. There are many companies which visited in our campus like TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Mahindra, Infosys and many others companies. They offered roles as freshers for engineers. About 50% of the students got the internship in reputed companies with Rs. 15,000 (avg) pm salary. They have a placement cell also, and it is very helpful to all students to get a good job in reputed companies.

A great homely place with excellent placement facility where you want to be.

Placements: I am in 3rd year, and I have seen last 3 year placements. So, I can say that Ceramic is a great stream to get a job in the industry through on-campusing. Our alumnus plays a great role in selecting candidates for a post in companies. There is a great higher education scope in this college.

Placements: The placements of the college are running successfully. The ceramic technology batch of 2017 had a 100 percent placement record. The batch of 2018 has around 60 percent of its students placed and according to our HOD, this year, the placements would be at a 100 percent mark.

Placements: The placement in ceramics department was almost 100% in the previous year the for IT and CSE. This year, the placement is running successfully, and it is almost 70%. I must say that studying in government college is much better than any private engineering college.

Placements: I am the pass out of 2017 batch. The placement is wonderful this year. About 85% students have been placed in this year till now. Few are left. but I think that the remaining will be placed within a month. Because a couple of companies have been yet to come. The highest salary offered by Vedanta Ltd. to 5 students was a package of 7.95 Lakh CTC per annum. The lowest salary offered by Rak Ceramic, India was a package of Rs. 25000/- per month (food and lodging will be provided). The companies tha...

Placements: Placement is very good. 70% students get placement from the college. 27 students were placed in Wipro. Others in CTS, Tech Mahindra and many other companies. The highest package is 7 lacs pa, and the lowest is 2.8 lacs pa. Some of the students got an internship. They got Rs. 6000 as the stipend.
