Value for money. Charged only Rs. 6000 for a sem and Rs. 1000 for exam fee. Under govt. of WB.

Placements: The placements are good with recruitment by leading IT companies. Wipro has a huge chunk in campus recruitment. Amazon, Oracle and Adobe organize pool campus drives for the college. Every stream has about 45-50 students out of which, 35-40 students are placed in the first semester of the final year. The college organises regular seminars and workshops to enhance the employability of the students.

Good placement and learning.

Placements: The placement is very good at my college. The placement system is very reliable. Everyone gets the opportunity to sit for the campus placement. Many reputed multi-national companies visit my college. The package for graduate engineer trainee is very good. Here, students can get the opportunity to work in his/her choice of departmental company. It is also good for those students who are interested in inorganic chemistry.

Overall, I'll give 4.5 out of 5.

Placements: In the year 2016, the overall ceramic market was too down. But our college has given over 50% placement. Not only that, 5-6 students have also cleared GATE and 2 of them are now in IIT Mumbai and 2 are IIT Kanpur. In the years 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014, there are over 100% placements.

Good for Computer Science students.

Placements: For IT and CSE departments, the placement scenario was not overwhelming but not bad either. The college participate in pool campus recruitment drives along with other government colleges. Usually around 50% of the students get placed during college placements. Wipro, Capgemini, Infosys, IBM and TCS are some of the prominent recruiters. The highest package was around 4 LPA. These companies take students for entry level software engineering roles. Internship opportunities for CS and IT students we...

We are all GCECTans. We love GCECT.

Placements: Placements are good in our college. Almost 60-70% students get jobs every year through the college campus. This year, already 9 students out of 40 got a job in our branch. The average salary package is nearly 3.5 lakhs per year. Mainly, we get a job in the marketing and production department.

Great college for technical education in West Bengal

Placements: We have placements from well known companies such as Wipro, IBM, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, SAP, etc. The placement for the ceramic batch is good as well. We had 4 students been placed in Tech Mahindra and 19 in Wipro. The average salary is about 3.5 lakhs P.A. Other companies like Oracle and Amazon India also hire from our college.

It is one of the oldest colleges in West Bengal. Now, it is an autonomous college under Makaut. The campus is really awesome. There is a playground, canteen and a common room in my college. The student welfare association is one of the major parts of this college. It organizes various cultural activities in the college. Moreover, the teachers are very cooperative to us. We pour all our problems to them and they solve them with a sweet smile on their face.

It is a great college. Faculty is very good. Environment is nice and peaceful. The college has no political affluence. It has a great scope to get selected in one of the MNCs, you have to try hard. I would recommend this college to everyone.

It is one of the best technical institutions of West Bengal. The faculty is very helpful and friendly towards students. As it is a government body (now autonomous) the expenses are very low. And last but not the least, it has a great placement cell. There are also some drawbacks of this college, i.e. the seat capacity of the labs are not adequate. It has a great campus life all along. Cultural fest (JAGRITI) and Tech fest (TECHTRONICS) are organized every year. The students enjoy both the campus...

It provides an inexpensive alternative to other private as well as semi-government colleges in Kolkata. It provides four-year B.Tech program in the discipline of Ceramic. The campus isn't hideous although just beside many chicken shops. My biggest influence when choosing this college was career potential in a government institution. The financial aid process was a hassle-free. Professors are generally accessible. I was a lateral-entry to this renowned college. Love you. Have a happy college life...

Teachers are very friendly. You can have loads of time for self-study and having fun in the college. Of late, lot of improvements in the infrastructure (as of 2015) have taken place. I really have no complaint regarding anything whatsoever. If you are studious and technically good enough, you will have no problem of getting a job. I am telling this from my very own personal experience. The college is now autonomous and so the standard of education has definitely got much better. This is a raggin...

I am a proud graduate to pass out from a renowned government college in Kolkata named GCECT, Beliaghata, Kolkata. Since 2011 the environment of the college is quite good to be honest. The faculties are friendly and very much co-operative in all facets to be honest. You would feel proud after 4 years/3 years (for lateral entry to this college) and recommend others. Since 2013 it has become a self-financing institute (autonomous body) so you would get some extra benefits now which were not there b...

Tucked in a small by-lane on Beliaghata main road, Rashmoni bajar, this college is a little hard to find. But once you enter the gates, you reach a different world. Even though my college campus is small, the spirits are really high. The best part is everyone knows everyone, and that made us into one family. Ceramics is really good- students regularly get above average packages from names that are really famous in what they do. It does not imply that CSE or IT students or faculty are any less. W...

If you don't have enough money to take admission in a private college, only then you can opt for it.

Placements: I got placed in Wipro. Some students also got placed in companies like TCS, CTS, IBM, Yodlee, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Amdocs and Accenture. The overall placements for our batch were good. Around 60% of the students got placed through campus placements. The rest of the students got placed through off-campus placements.

Placements: Nice placements. About 70 to 80 percent got placed. Salary offered was in the range of 7 to 8 LPA. Students got placed in TCS, Wipro, etc. The lowest package was around 3.5 LPA and average was 4 to 5 LPA. Here, on campus and off campus drives are organized.

Quality faculty but infrastructure not exactly upto the mark.

Placements: There are very few non industry IT companies that come here for placement. The TPO is non existent and hardly communicates well with the students. But a wide variety of Ceramic companies come to recruit all with good packages above industry standards. From Ceramic more than 70 percent get placed and with packages above 4 LPA frequent among them.
