B.E. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2025
3.6

Absolutely dissatisfied by infrastructure, placements are average, but faculties are helpful.
Placements: 60–70% of students get placed every year. The highest package is about 20 lpa this year, the lowest package is 3.5 lpa, and the average package is about 6 lpa. Top recruiting companies are L&T, Adani, and Zoho. 20-30% of students got internships at the college in companies such as Zoho, Technip, and BIS.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is present on college campus. The labs of college are not that good; digital classrooms are there. The library and centralized computer centre are also there. The quality of food which is available in mess is average. There is a sports event called Sfoorti. In this event number of indoor and outdoor games are there, such as chess, carrom, table tennis, khokho, cricket, football, etc.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful in nature and well qualified. Teaching quality varies according to teacher to teacher. Yes, some subjects are very helpful for making students industry-ready. Government College of Engineering Nagpur is not an autonomous college; it comes under Rastrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, so the difficulty level depends on the university, and the passout percentage is about 80 to 90%.
Other: As the fee of the government college of engineering in Nagpur is very low, which was about 12520 at my time of admission. There are mainly three types of events in this college, which are sfoorti, adhyaaya, and oranz. Sfoorty is a sports event, Adyaaya is all about technical events, and Oranz is a cultural festival. There are many kinds of scholarships available based on the caste.

B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2022

College has satisfactory facilities for the students.
Placements: College was offering good placement opportunities to the students. Around 50% of students were successfully placed in our college. The highest package offered was 15 LPA. The lowest package offered was 3 LPA. Average package offered was between 3-8 LPA. Around 75% of students get internships at our college.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure for the mechanical engineering course was good at our college. College offers all the necessary facilities to its students. Wi-Fi, labs, library, hostel, canteen, etc. were given at our college to their students. Hostels of the college were having furnished rooms and were neat and clean.
Faculty: All the teachers of our college were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable for the mechanical engineering course. Professors were properly guiding us. Course curriculum of the college was relevant. It makes the students industry ready. Semester exams in our college were not very hard or not very easy to pass.

B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2025

Below-average college as compared to other gov. colleges.
Placements: Every year, almost 90% of students appearing for placements in my course are placed, most from on-campus and others from off-campus opportunities. I'm currently in my 3rd year, and the situation of the batch of my seniors (passing out in 2024) is pretty bad because of the recession in the IT industry. The maximum package offered on campus is 5 LPA this year. The highest package offered on campus was 9 LPA by Infosys. Zoho was the only product-based company that used to come to our college, but it has not come since summer 2023 until now and probably won't now because of the recession. It also offered summer internships, being the only company that offered internships at our college through the campus. The lowest package offered was 3.4 LPA by TCS and the average package for the 2023 batch was approximately 5 LPA (2024 batch placements aren't complete yet) Top recruiting companies for CSE: TCS, Persistent, Zoho, Hexaware technologies, crave infotech, SopeoNow, infosys, etc. Internships: On-campus internships aren't available; only Zoho used to come for that, but it came last time in 2022 for internships for CSE. And when it used to come, it took 3–4 students from CSE. Talking about off-campus internships, about 20–30% of students get them, and in small companies, they are paid the bare minimum or not at all.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available throughout the whole campus; computer labs are good with fast PCs; classrooms are digital; and the library is good too. There is no canteen available yet as of 3/3/24, boys hostel has an intake of 180 students and has 6 floors; the girls hostel has intake of 100 students and has 4 floors Both hostels have lifts, and the cleanliness is good. Only 1 flaw in the boys hostel is that it currently has only 2 drinking water machines, 1 on the 2nd floor and one on the 5th floor. There are no medical facilities available, and 1 college field is available on approximately. 5 acres for sports and sports events. Gymkhana has sports kits available for some sports.
Faculty: Only 2 teachers are in the permanent faculty in CSE; 1 is our HOD, ma'am, and 1 more sir is there. Other teachers are visiting faculty. They are qualified; two permanent teachers have Ph.D.s, but their teaching skills are very poor. Some of them are helpful and some aren't; the teaching quality is below average; they don't care if students get the concepts or not; they only explain some part of each PPT's slides and try to move on to the next slides quickly. The course curriculum is relevant, but it does not make the students industry-ready, obviously (just like 90% of other Indian colleges). Semester exams are not very tough but not very easy either; they are conducted by RTMNU in other college centres. The toppers has reached to 8.7 sgpa in 4th semester of our batch. The pass percentage is 98%.
Other: I chose CSE because I love building web apps. The best thing is that computer science is a very welcoming field for newcomers and has diverse applications. Improvements for CSE in my college would be coding competitions, hackathons, more seminars and alumni meets, and CSE-specific teachfests organized by the college. Coding culture is heavily missing. Events: Annual sports event: Sfoorti (about 10 types of sports are played) Annual teach fest: Adhyaaya for 3 days (includes 5–6 types of technical competitions, 4-5 types of non-technical competitions, and 3–4 seminars) Annual cultural fest: Oranz for 3 days (includes bollywood day, cultural day and main day with dance, drama, singing, fashion show, costumes show and dj night) The campus is very small, i.e., only 12 acres. It is located in a suburb of Nagpur, i.e., in New Khapri, Nagpur. college has various clubs, including IIC (institute innovation council), GDSC, Rotaract club, music club, astronomy club, robotics club, etc. Basic scholarships offered by the Maharashtra government through the MahaDBT portals are available.

Review of Government College of Engineering Nagpur.
Placements: The placement are quite good. The other average package is about 5.5 LPA, and the highest package is about 21 LPA. The placement percentage is 80–90% for ME, CE and 90–92% for CSE, EE, etc. As compared to other colleges in Nagpur, the placement and internship offers are great.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is also impressive. The campus area is small but well maintained. All the labs and workshops are maintained properly. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus and has good speed. Hostel rooms are also good, but there is only one boy and one girl hostel, which is given on a merit basis.
Faculty: Faculty are good in their respective domains and subjects; they have great knowledge, which they give. Exams are on time; there were 2 CTs conducted last semester. The course is designed as per industry requirements and is good for practical knowledge.

Good value for money and good environment .
Placements: The main thing that ought to catch my eye about this college is the placements. It was above average if we compare it to other colleges in Nagpur. If I talk about 2023 placements, the average was about 5.6 LPA, with the highest being 21 LPA, which is way above average for any college in Nagpur. Of course, excluding VNIT.
Infrastructure: It is not the biggest campus; it is the size of a school campus or a bit bigger than that. I don't live in a hostel so I don't know much about that, but my friends say its fun living there. We have two buildings, one for mechanical and civil departments and the other for computer science, electrical and electronics departments. We have a large ground.
Faculty: Some faculty here are very good and energetic, while others fall short in terms of student interaction, but I had a good experience in terms of faculty interaction. In terms of curriculum, this college follows the RTM Nagpur University curriculum and exam pattern.
Other: You will find a lot of great, talented, and supportive people at this college. I am enjoying my time here right now so yes, I like it.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the faculty, college and the infrastructure.
Placements: Almost 60 percent of the students were placed after the 1st round only. The students got an average package of 7 LPA. Companies like L&T, Adani, Tata, Mahindra etc. are always open for placements from our college. As the college is a government college, the tag itself makes an impact on the companies.
Infrastructure: College is completely new and is still under development. Complete campus is yet to be constructed, the college lacks proper facilities and has the worst management. Hostel life is good but the hostel mess is yet to be managed properly and most of the work is done by the students themselves.
Faculty: Teachers aren't understanding or helpful. They are qualified according to their degrees on paper but actually lack the ability to teach. I would rate their teaching quality 2 out of 10. The course curriculum is set by RTMNU which itself is one of the worst universities. Semester exams are easy but exams checking by RTMNU is never done properly.
