Diploma in Information Technology - Batch of 2024

My experience of GPM's IT Diploma (batch 2024) .
Placements: While I was studying in GPM's IT department, I wasn't offered any placement, nor did the students get any information regarding campus placements. Although we were told about placements during admission, nothing happened. As for internships, the faculty did help a bit with finding them.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of classrooms and labs were good enough to study in. They had fast Wi-Fi and working computers. The sports facilities, canteen food, and fests were not too bad—average, I would say. I was not staying in the hostel, so I can't say anything about it.
Faculty: I would say the curriculum is outdated. It does not make you industry-ready; it only covers very basic concepts that might give a little boost but are not of much help. Teachers were not helpful during my time in college, and the quality of teaching was not the best. I would say exams were standard, like any other exam, but still not impossible to pass.

Dissatisfied because of faculty & placement, and very bad infrastructure, campus, and facilities.
Placements: The college does not provide placements for the students. They told us that they would give placements at the time of admission, but they do not. Although the students from the college are not placed in any big company, all the students of my batch are doing their degree instead of any job.
Infrastructure: The college does not have a girls' hostel; they have a boys' hostel, but it is under construction. All the courses are available in the college. Each branch has its own floor and labs, but the PCs and necessary equipment are not available in the quantity required for the students.
Faculty: The college faculty is very strict. The exams are very good because of the strict faculty and staff. The practical exams were not that good because of the available PCs and equipment, and the viva is okay. The college follows the sandwich pattern (semester pattern).
Other: The college does not have that many clubs and fests.

A very good college for those students who are poor.
Placements: In our course, about 40% of students were placed. The highest package was 55 LPA, while the average package was 15 LPA, and the lowest package was 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies include TATA, ACC, etc. About 60% of students get internships from our course. Thank you.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructures are good. There are proper classrooms and libraries for us. The hostel is good enough. The food is good. Wi-Fi is available. The canteen is clean and provides good enough food. There are good facilities for sports on multiple levels.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality was also good. With the help of workshops, they made us industry-ready. Semester exams were tough, but if you study, it will be easy. Thank you, and take admission to this college.
Other: I chose this course because I like civil engineering. In our course, the faculty was good in comparison to other courses.

Review of College campus.
Placements: At the Government Polytechnic of Mumbai, this college has a good placement. Every individual student has a better and better future because of college placement. There are lots of students who are facing problems in their studies because the college is providing them with a good placement.
Infrastructure: This college had a hostel before, but now there is no hostel in the college, so the students who are living far from a college need a hostel, so the college has some types of hostels like Churchgate, Bandra Borivali, and many more, and the college helps students to sleep.
Faculty: The college faculty is not so good; we thought they just came up with their own topics and went to the restroom. The students have doubts, but when they ask, the teacher leaves. But yes, there are some teachers who are like a family who help out to clear every single doubt and learn new things.
Other: The college fee structure depends on the caste. For open castes, there are 18000 per year.

Life at government polytechnic.
Placements: 30 percent of the students from my batch had got placements. The highest package offered was for 2.5 LPA. The lowest package offered would be around 80k to 1 LPA. The average package offered were 1.5 LPA. The top companies that were recruiting were mostly government companies like ONGC and HPCL, and some private companies like Godrej, etc. The top roles offered were mostly executive and senior executive, and some were offered for the assistant manager role.
Infrastructure: The college had good infrastructure and a good campus. It was well-equipped with facilities like Wi-Fi and internet. The classrooms were very spacious and could easily host 30–45 students. The college also provided a library. Not a variety of books were provided but the ones that are essential were. I was a local so I didn't have to opt for a hostel or mess. But the food items served in the canteen were good to go. The college didn't have any ground- or turf-like facilities. But they had a number of indoor games. They also conduct sports days annually.
Faculty: The teaching staff was well qualified and well versed in today's teaching methods. The teachers were always helpful with any doubts from students. The teachers used to go through every student to check how he was performing and how his academics were. The course curriculum was very relevant. Maybe not now but in 5–6 years, there will be a boom in this field. The teaching staff was so professional that they had made the students industry-ready well in advance. providing them with the knowledge they had gained. The difficulty level for the course is 8–8.5 on a scale of 10. The passing percentage was 35 to 40%.
Other: I chose this course because there would be a very growing demand for professionals who had studied it. The best thing about this course is that it teaches you about computer languages and programming like Java, python, C++, etc. All things were up to par, and I don't see any area for improvement. There were no events or cultural programs as it was a government college. The crowd was also decent. The connectivity of the college was also easy and hassle-free to reach.

An honest review from an honest student. Do not interfere in teachers politics.
Placements: There are rare placements. This is a diploma course, so that's why companies ignore hiring students from this college. Students here get placements, but it is not for good. A student must complete all the studies and then think about placements in my opinion.
Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi, not a good building. The food is good, but not that good. There is no point in complaining about it because nothing will happen and they will ignore your complaint. It's better to be with it and control yourself. There is no good water service as well; they have only one filter.
Faculty: The teachers were quite good at what they did. They did very well, and they deserve to get paid more. In honesty, they were really good and supportive towards their students. Always ready to help and look out for their students if they are in some kind of situation.
Other: I chose this course because I had some curiosity to learn things about computers and software. Better understanding of coding. Not much.
