IIM Ahmedabad PhD Admission 2023
At the doctoral level, IIM Ahmedabad offers a full-time PhD programme in Management across 11 specialisations. For PhD admission, candidates need to possess a valid CAT (taken in last two years)/ GMAT (for foreign national candidates) score. However, applicants can take a few other exams (as per the specialisation they select in lieu of CAT). The eligibility criteria for IIM Ahmedabad PhD admissions are enlisted below:
| Eligibility criteria: Passed a master's/ PG diploma degree of two years/ Professional qualification (CA/ ICWA/ CS) with BCom degree from a UGC-recognised university*, OR Passed a BTech degree or equivalent four-year UG degree from a UGC-recognised university with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 or equivalent aggregate** - Candidates, appearing for the final year of their previous qualifying degree and, are awaiting results can also apply. However, if selected, the admission of such candidates will be provisional, only if the candidate submits a pre-final certificate signed by competent authorities of previous institute/ university, latest by May 31, 2022. |
*The duration of PhD programme for candidates fulfilling the first eligibility criteria in the above table will be three years.
**The duration of PhD programme for candidates fulfilling the second eligibility criteria in the above table will be four years.
Selection criteria: Candidates, shortlisted based on entrance test scores, are further invited for a PI round, conducted in online mode. PGP/ PGPX/ PGP-PMP alumni of any of the IIMs are exempted from taking any of the entrance tests and are directly called for the PI round.
