IIFD Kolkata Welcomed Students with an Orientation
July 31, 2024: IIFD Kolkata organised an orientation to welcome the students. This orientation was meant to introduce students to the Fashion world. The atmosphere on the campus on the orientation day was quite good. There was a buzz of conversation and the exchange of several excited glances among the new classmates.
The orientation event began with a welcome address by the Director of IIFD Kolkata. The speech highlighted the importance of innovation, creativity, and dedication in the Fashion industry. Afterward, the faculty members introduced themselves. The faculty shared some insights about their experience, passion for teaching, and others. Students were also given an overview of the curriculum and the workshops, internships, projects, and other activities that will be organised for them in the coming months. In the end, students were given a complete tour of the campus. The orientation was more than just a formal event. It marked the beginning of a transformative journey in student's lives where future fashion leaders are born and dreams take shape.
IIFD Kolkata Makes a Bold Statement: Fostering Future Fashion Stars
May 30, 2024: An emerging talent was seen at the recently finished Times Lifestyle Fashion Week in Gurugram (May 18–19, 2024). the Indian Institute of Fashion and Design (IIFD), Chandigarh. By collaborating as a Powered By sponsor, IIFD gave its gifted students a stage on which to demonstrate their design abilities next to well-known figures in the fashion industry. For IIFD, May 19 proved to be an especially significant day. The audience was captivated by the innovative and technically proficient collection that the institute's young designers showcased.
The student showcase came to an end with an incredible finale. Renowned actress Tejassvi Prakash donned the stunning centerpiece dress, created by an IIFD student, lending a dash of glitz and celebrity recognition to the occasion. At this year's Times Lifestyle Fashion Week, the Chandigarh campus was the center of attention, but the IIFD Kolkata campus is giddy with anticipation for more initiatives along these lines.
For IIFD students on all campuses—not just in Chandigarh—the Times Lifestyle Fashion Week provided an unmatched chance to obtain experience in a demanding setting. From creating a unified collection to getting clothes ready and working with models, the students learned so much about the different aspects of a fashion show.
