Q:   Can I get IIMC, Kottayam, PG Diploma with a 86 percentile in IIMC Entrance Exam?

A:

Getting an 86 percentile in the IIMC Entrance Exam may not guarantee you a seat in the IIMC, Kottayam, PG Diploma program. The admission to the PG Diploma course in Journalism at IIMC Kottayam is based on the scores of students in the IIMC entrance test conducted by the institute. The first merit list for the PG Diploma Course in Journalism for Malayalam was released by IIMC, and the candidates whose names appeared on the merit list were required to complete the admission formalities, including depositing the application fee. While an 86 percentile may be considered a good score, it is essential to keep in mind that the cutoff scores and merit lists are determined by the institute, and there is no guarantee that an 86 percentile will result in admission to the PG Diploma program. It is advisable to check the official IIMC website for the latest information on the cutoff scores and merit lists. In case you do not get selected for the PG Diploma program, you can consider other participating colleges in the IIMC 2023.  However, it is essential to research and verify the eligibility, admission process, and cutoff scores for each college before applying.

PG Diploma in Digital Media - Batch of 2017

Great place to study Journalism.
Placements: In my batch at IIMC, 75% of students were placed. 100% of students secured internships, including opportunities with companies like the Times of India for roles such as reporters.
Infrastructure: At IIMC, our course was held in modern classrooms, though there was no Wi-Fi. The library was small, and there were only a few computers. The hostels were clean and provided essential amenities. The mess and canteen served decent food, but there were no medical facilities, and no sports like basketball, cricket, or a gym were available.
Faculty: The IIMC faculty were experienced, knowledgeable, and supportive. The curriculum was relevant and industry-focused, preparing students well for media and communication roles. Semester exams were moderately challenging, with a high pass percentage of around 95%.
