MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery - Batch of 2026

It is a very good college with great medical exposure and very helpful beforehand experience.
Placements: There are no placements in medical colleges as such. I mean it's not like engineering colleges where companies come to the campus. It is more of an individual hustle where either you can work as an MO I. e medical officer post MBBS but for that too you have to give an exam. Or you can try for post graduation and apply for residence and ofcourse for that too you have to give an exam.
Infrastructure: Hostel and infrastructure in igmc are quite typical. Sports like volleyball, football and table tennis are available in the hostel. Mess facilities are also good. There is no canteen in the hostel. There are single bedrooms for each individual in the boys hostel whereas girls have double bedrooms as they live in sharing.
Faculty: Yes teachers are very helpful. Every teacher is qualified enough to do his/her job. Teaching quality is also very good. The course is very difficult but who says it is easy to save lives. Examination standards are quite high as they are meant to make you a ready doctor.
Other: Campus is very small since the college is built on hills. So there is no place for campus. But we really enjoy our college life.

Infrastructure: Facilities are great. The infrastructure is good. Hostel facilities are also good.
Faculty: Our teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is very relevant. Semester exams are not tough.
Other: I am not satisfied with its transportation facilities.

It is a good college, with good doctors and facilities.
Placements: There were 100 students in a batch till 2018 batch, and it is 120 students from 2019 onwards. The income varies depending on whether it is a government job or private and also depends on where you are posted. Internships are provided by the college, and it is for 1 year. Overall, it is a good college.
Infrastructure: A library is available. A reading room is available 24 hours. The classrooms are big enough and have smart screens. There is a badminton court inside and an auditorium for functions. Every year, different functions are organised, and classes are taken by teachers regularly.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and are atleast MD/MS in their subject. They also work in hospitals. The course is based on both theoretical and practical. Students regularly go to the hospital to examine patients and observe different types of conditions.
Other: MBBS is a good course.

It has amazing college life and good placements.
Placements: Almost 50-60% of the students got placed via interviews in the state government-run PHCs and CHCs. The salary offered ranges from Rs. 30,000 to 40,000 per month based on the post. After passing out, students are posted as medical officers. The rest of the students either start their post-graduation, some opt for foreign medical exams, or some opt for a drop year to prepare for NEET PG and INI CET.
Infrastructure: Our college and hospital are situated 2-3 km away from the boys and girls hostel. The college contains 5 lecture theatres, an auditorium, a cafeteria, a library cum reading room, a badminton court, dissection hall, pathology lab, pharmacology lab, physiology lab, biochemistry lab, microbiology lab and forensic lab. The hospital contains various departments of their respective specialties.
Faculty: Our teachers are beyond qualified and have in-depth knowledge of their respective subjects. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students ready for real-life scenarios. The difficulty level of semester exams is above average, and the pass percentage is 80-90%.

It has been a pleasure being a part of IGMC. I would recommend it to all medical aspirants.
Placements: I am a student of MBBS Class of 2014, currently doing my internship in the same hospital and will be finishing it in December 2019. The interviews for Jobs are yet to be held. Jobs are guaranteed in the interviews based on your preference of location. Salaries vary according to the area one is placed in.
Infrastructure: The lecture halls are good, college, as well as hospital, has Wi-Fi, Library is well stocked with various medical books and journals, but the seating area is less. All the departments have adequate labs and other facilities. The hostel is a little far from the college and hospital and doesn't have any facility other than rooms and mess. The quality of mesa food is below par.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful always. They are well qualified but not all of them know how to convey the things properly. Quality is average at best, a lot of self-study is required. The curriculum is relevant, but in the end, you have to put in the hard work.
Other: I chose the course as it is a noble profession and the best one. I got to see so many things regarding various aspects of the medical field and got to know about various diseases, fields, treatments and all. MBBS should be made a bit more practical, even before the internship. The theory will not get one anywhere in this field. So practical exposure should be more. Our college didn't have many extracurricular activities. We have just one college Fest- Stimulus, where many colleges participate from all over North India. Those 5 days are the best one of the whole year, undoubtedly.

It is an excellent college in terms of faculty, infrastructure and placements.
Placements: Almost 100% of the students get placed. The highest salary offered is Rs. 97,000 per month in Army Hospital through AMC SSC. The average salary offered is Rs. 40,000 per month in primary health centres. The lowest salary offered is Rs. 25,000 per month in a government job. The top recruiting companies are of Himachal government primary health centre. The top role offered is the medical officer. The highest salary offered in our course is Rs. 97,000 per month in the army. The average salary offered in our course is Rs. 50,000 per month and the lowest salary offered in our course is Rs. 25,000 per month. A one-year internship is mandatory for everyone in the college.
Infrastructure: There is a Wi-Fi facility available in college and hostel. There are spacious classrooms and equipped with the latest projector and screens. There is a central library, and also there is e-library which has computers with LAN facility. The hostel provides good and hygienic food. There are medical facilities in the hostel. The college also encourages sports. There is also a basketball court in the hostel.
Faculty: All the teachers here are very well qualified, helpful to clear every doubt of the student. Faculty are knowledgeable with some being experts in their field. Teaching quality of teachers is excellent. The latest curriculum issues by the medical council of India is followed in the college, and it makes students industry-ready.
Other: I choose this course because I wanted to become a doctor, which is a respectful and rewarding career. The course was not this long of 5.5 years. There is an annual event known as a Stimulus in which there are many extracurricular activities with star night. The college also takes to a Goa trip in the starting of 4th year.
