Life of a hotel management student at IHM Lucknow.
Placements: So, I am a student of the batch 2022-2025, with a total strength of 300 students. The highest package offered is around 9 Lacs rupees CTC yearly by the retail brands and around 5 Lacs rupees CTC yearly by the hotel brands. Since our college comes under the top 5 colleges according to the placements, we have major brands in hospitality as well as retail across India, including the Taj, The Oberoi, ITC, The Leela, and all the known brands of hospitality across India. Internship is compulsory for the students of B.Sc. as well as Diploma to complete their course, and you have opportunities to work all over India in any brand you want, depending on your capability. The stipend for internships varies from company to company. Currently, many companies pay around 5000 per month as stipend. The top roles offered in the course include the OCLD programme, which is the management training programme by the Oberoi group that gives you the role of Assistant Manager after one and a half years.
Infrastructure: Our infrastructure is significantly very good. We have practical labs, well-equipped with the necessary equipment. We also have theory labs, separate for 1st year, 2nd year, and 3rd year. The labs are divided accordingly, and they are well connected with both the old and new buildings. Additionally, we have brainwata hunting systems, solar panels, our own table, as well as a water tanker. We also have generators all over the campus for a smooth flow of electricity 24/7.
Faculty: Since the last 2 years, the curriculum has changed a lot, and currently, it is according to the current needs of the hospitality industry and the last part of IGNOU. My curriculum is a little bit laid back, but the curriculum introduced by Jawaharlal Nehru University is quite well, and it matches the current scenarios of the hospitality industry. Our curriculum is balanced in both practical and theoretical aspects, which is the best part of our course and makes it different from other courses.
Other: I want to say that if you are passionate about the hospitality industry and want to pursue a career in this industry, I definitely recommend you join IHM Lucknow, which is one of the best colleges for hotel management across India. It provides you with the best opportunities, and you learn under the best professionals and teachers across India, which helps you develop more professionally compared to other institutes of hotel management or private institutes. The fees are quite high, but it is worth it according to the course.

One of the best colleges for hotel management .
Placements: Almost more than 90% of students were placed in our course. Reliance, Taj, Hyatt, Oberoi, Pantaloons, and Pullman are top recruiting companies in our course. 100% students got internships in our college in top 5-star hotels like ITC, Taj, Hyatt, JW Marriott, etc.
Infrastructure: We have a lot of classrooms for lectures and a lot of labs for practical classes of every subject and each and every year students. The hostel is also very good and the quality of food available in the mess and canteen is very good. They provide food according to their two-cyclic menu.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. They are amazing. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant and it makes the students industry-ready. A total of 6 semesters are there, and each semester has 2 written exams of each subject and 1 practical exam of each subject.
Other: This college is listed in the Top 5 hotel management colleges in India. There are a lot of extracurricular activities, events and fests organized. The biggest yearly event is Concordia.

The reality of hospitality course.
Placements: About 30% of students got placed in the course. The highest salary package offered in the course is 6 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies like HCL, Oberoi, ITC, Hyatt, Aditya Birla, etc., visit the college for placements. All students from our course got internships in popular companies like Taj, Oberoi, Hyatt, Leela, Accor, etc. The top roles offered in my course include assistant manager in any department or sous chef.
Infrastructure: The college is divided into two parts, the old building and the new building. Facilities and the infrastructure in the old building are very run down, and nothing is renovated in the old building. The new building is meant for the starting semesters. Wi-Fi is not available for students. Labs are not fully equipped, and the library has limited books. Facilities in the hostel are average. The quality of food in the mess is not good. Medical facilities are only there for emergencies.
Faculty: Not all the teachers are knowledgeable. The teaching quality is only good with a few. The course curriculum does need some amendments in order to make students industry-ready. Semester exams in this college are very easy and the pass percentage is above 40%.
Other: I chose this course because I want to explore the culinary department and want to learn new skills. The best thing about this course is that they offer industrial training for 4 months. A big change in the facilities is required and new equipment can make the course better. Everything happens in this college except studies. For every one or two days an event is scheduled. The crowd is filled with vulgar people.

Very good college. It is a government college.
Placements: There are 299 students. The highest package is 50 lakh annum and the lowest package is 20 lakh per annum. Top recruiters are Taj, Oberoi, Hyatt, JW Marriot, etc. About 80 percent of students got internships. The college and staff are good and they are very helpful.
Infrastructure: There is a food production lab, a front office lab, a food and beverage lab, a housekeeping lab, and a library, in addition to hostels and college food. There is a wifi kitchen, lab , basement, office , hostel , mess, and ground , and there are many activities done by the college for improvement.
Faculty: Very good infrastructure and development of the college is done regularly for students for their future and the staff &b lab, housekeeping lab and college food are good. One of the best college for Hotel Management.
Placements: Over 90% of students from my course were placed, with a minimum salary of 2 lakhs per annum and a maximum salary of 5-6 lakhs per annum. The top recruiting companies are Reliance Retail, Aditya Birla, Oberoi, Taj, etc. Over 95% of students got internships, and the top roles offered in my course are managerial positions.
Infrastructure: There were lots of classrooms for lectures, and two practical labs for each subject for each year's students. The quality of the hostel food was good, although they only provided vegetarian food, including eggs. The hostel also had a common play area for students in both the boys' and girls' hostels.
Faculty: The teachers at this college are well qualified and very helpful. Their teaching methods are amazing. The curriculum includes practical classes and training that prepares students for industry work. The passing percentage is 40% in theory exams and 50% in practical exams.
Other: Concordia is an annual fest that showcases the college's talent in dance, sports, singing, and other fun activities and competitions. The college also holds various other activities and food fests on campus throughout the year.

Central Government Hotel Management College in Lucknow - IHM Lucknow.
Placements: Percent of students placed last year: 84%. The highest average package offered: 12 LPA, the lowest: 3.4 LPA. Talking about top recruiting companies: TAJ, Oberoi, Hilton, ITC, etc. Internships offered from JW Marriott, Pullman, Roseate, and other hotel brands. Students can opt for walking as well as internships offered by the college itself. Speaking of my experience, I have done my training at JW Marriott Aerocity, New Delhi.
Infrastructure: Talking about facilities, infrastructure for the course or department, Wi-Fi is available all the time for history processes. There are labs, or we can say practical labs, for all the classes like front office, housekeeping, and FNB culinary. The library is present and open from Monday to Friday. The library timings are from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Talking about hostel facilities, in hostel rooms, there are not as many facilities, but you will get a bed, study table, and wardrobe. The hostel mess is there, and you will get meals there daily. The mess timings are from 7:30 to 8:30 in the morning and 7 to 8 in the evening.
Faculty: All the faculty members or teachers in the college are very helpful for the students, and what I like the most about the teachers is that they never say no to any students when they ask any question. Teachers are well educated about all the subjects they are teaching. Overall, I can say that the teaching quality is good at the institute. You will get practical knowledge as well as theoretical knowledge for your course.
Other: I did the course at this college because I want to build my career in the hospitality industry. The best thing about my course is that students have to do Industrial Exposure Training (IET), which lasts about four months and is compulsory for all students. During IET, all students get exposure to all core departments of the hotel. I think improvement somewhere in the college is important, like toilets not being well cleaned all the time. It is important to maintain hygiene and clean the toilets regularly for better hygiene purposes. Talking about events at the college, every year the college organizes an event named Concordia. In this event, there are four teams, each with a president—one for ladies and one for gents. The president selection is held on campus, and all the students participate in it. In Concordia, students interested in sports or any extracurricular activities can participate. Concordia offers sports activities like cricket, football, tennis, etc. Not only sports, but there are also competitions like singing competitions, dancing competitions, quiz competitions, etc.
