Advanced NICU Resuscitation Programme at IMS and SUM Hospital

November 6, 2023: An expert group of pediatricians and neonatologists imparted hands on training to doctors and nursing officers on various aspects of Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) at the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar.

The post-graduate department of paediatrics, in collaboration with the Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP) Bhubaneswar city section, arranged a workshop that was attended by twenty-four trainees. The program's founder, Prof. (Dr.) Pusparaj Samantasinhar, Medical Superintendent of IMS and SUM Hospital, emphasised the value of physicians providing patient counselling. He stated, "Physicians have a responsibility to reassure patients in addition to treating and caring for them."

Just a decent college review .

Placements: There is no placement in the MBBS course. You get a compulsory internship in the attached hospital for one year in various departments to get hands-on experience of the job. Decent stipend of 24k per month. Good faculty members are very knowledgeable and always willing to teach and guide.

The college has very good studies with not an exceptional campus.

Placements: Well it is MBBS so at the end of the course you'd get an internship which pays around 30k for a year. The rotating internship needs you to attend the department you are assigned to. The hostel fee is to be paid by you only. As of now we hear that the internships money is going to increase in the coming years.

Absolutely satisfied with this college. Best infrastructure, best faculty, good placement.

Placements: Around 60% of students have secured placements. Final-year students are offered internships, and job roles typically include positions as staff nurses or clinical instructors. Students generally score between 50-60% in their exams.

Getting admission to the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital (IMS and SUM) for MBBS with a mere score of 300 marks in NEET would be quite difficult considering the general cut-off marks for admission to medical colleges are usually much higher than that. Of course, the exact cut-off varie
