* Pros:
+ Well-structured course with a focus on providing in-depth knowledge in the subject area.
+ Great internship opportunities, although not always leading to placements.
+ Knowledgeable faculty members with expertise in their fields.
+ Holistic approach to education, preparing students for both academics and industries.
+ Located in a prime area of Kolkata, offering a good campus life.
* Cons:
+ Placements are not great, mainly due to the fact that many students pursue higher studies instead.

Review of JD Birla Institute, Kolkata.
Placements: The college offers placement opportunities to students from the 4th year. Companies like Deloitte, Godrej, Pepper Fry, EY, PWC, etc., are invited to the college for providing placement opportunities. The highest package offered is 7 LPA, and the lowest package is 3 LPA. Most of the students come from business backgrounds, and therefore they tend to join their businesses after graduation.
Infrastructure: The college uses technology everywhere. For example, the ID card that the college provides has a separate barcode for each student, which is used for entry and exit in the library. All classrooms are fully air-conditioned, with water coolers on each floor. The college lacks in the field of sports.
Faculty: The faculty members of JDBI are some of the most understanding and knowledgeable. Their experience is top-notch, and the guidance they provide before the exams is very helpful. We students don't hesitate to ask our teachers any doubts or questions that we have, even if they are out of the syllabus. The semester exams are not that tough if you listen to the teachers' advice in class.
Other: The main reason for me to choose this college was that my hometown is 200 km from Kolkata, and JDBI is one of the best design colleges in West Bengal with the best faculty. The college organizes an annual function and a freshmen's party for its students every year.

Opportunities and resources are very limited.
Placements: The placement opportunities in campus is not very good. You get great internship opportunities however placements not well supported since many students also go for higher studies after their B.Sc. Some companies like ITC foods, and some hospitals do recruit but the rate is extremely low.
Infrastructure: The course is well structured and provides deep information about the subject. It is probably one of the best in the country. The infrastructure of college is very mediocre as the campus is very limited with resources. Wi-Fi, library and a recreational room is available. There are no hostels associated with the college, one needs to find accommodation on their own. However many good pgs are available in the area.
Faculty: The teaching staff is knowledgeable for sure. All of them come from an UGC background and have good resources on the subject. The course curriculum is very relevant and makes the students industry ready. We are sent for mandatory internships and the course is very relevant as per that. There are 1 end sem exam every semester and in between there are 1 set of internal exams. All of these are pretty manageable.
Other: The college does not provide much event or campus crowd opportunities. Scholarship is available for students who do top in the exam. There is a badminton court where students can play sometimes. We hope the placement facilities get better since many students require some job experience after graduation for applying to higher studies.

Best place for nutrition enthusiasts.
Placements: The placement for B.Sc. students is not that great, since most opt for higher studies in the field. However, if you want to get placed them the placement cell is well-equipped with connections and gives you a holistic approach to the industry. You can opt for better placement after completing your Masters.
Infrastructure: The building is located in the main area of Kolkata, so the campus life is great. It is well-equipped with libraries, Wi-Fi etc. The classrooms are equipped with AC, and there is a nutrition clinic within the college itself to provide the students a better exposure in the Industry. The labs have modern equipments. The physiology lab is used for blood test etc. There is also culinary lab, microbiology lab etc.
Faculty: The course gives it's students a holistic approach to the industry, and makes them well trained individuals. The faculty is very knowledgeable, and is ready to extend knowledge not just academically but career wise as well. They are all well trained individuals with high levels of professionalism in the field. The semester exams are good if you study your subject well. The online exams have 3 hour paper with 5 questions, each of 20 marks.
Other: It is the best place for nutrition enthusiasts. The college hosts several fests throughout the year. The placements could be better, however, overall great if you have a passion for nutrition.

An excellent college as we get both studies and extracurricular activities.
Placements: Our college provides 100% placements to all the students who opt for it. Taj Groups, Nestle, and Birla companies recruit students. But not all students sit for placements as they want to complete their higher studies. The college provides high opportunities, and it is up to you how you grab it.
Infrastructure: There are many labs and a library too. The college is located in a very peaceful and lush green environment. There is a badminton court too. Classrooms are air-conditioned and the labs too. Proper sports facilities, Wi-Fi, and books are available.
Faculty: The teachers here are highly qualified and have expertise. Their lectures include creativity, interest, knowledge, and they guide us at any point required. The teaching quality is excellent, and the materials they provide are helpful. The college also provides internships which are beneficial.
Other: The fee structure of our college is a little high as per the other colleges in Kolkata, but according to the price, the faculty here are excellent. The study load is a little high but manageable. Scholarships are available on a merit basis, which is the best part.

It provides a student with a good future.
Placements: The college provides an internship to every student in companies which makes each student brilliant in their chosen field. There are about 150 students in each department. The total fee of our course is 4,00,000, and the total fee of the M.Sc course is 2,00,000.
Infrastructure: Our college has 5 departments, and each department has facilities for students. It offers departments like interior, textile science, food and science and human development. The college provides separate drawing room, labs and classrooms. The canteen is quite good, but the food served doesn't taste properly.
Faculty: Some teachers have good teaching skills. Some have less experience in the subject. The course and the internship provided by the college make the students ready to fight the real job world. It is not easy to get an internship, but the college makes sure every student gets it and do it with full interest.

Dissatisfied with faculty strength, experienced faculty are very helpful. An average course.
Placements: Through college placement, 15% of students were placed in 2018 pass out batch. Highest salary offered was 25,000 and the lowest was 6,000. The top recruiting company for our course was Note. Our course has a compulsory internship period of 1.5 months for all students.
Infrastructure: We get facilities like Wi-Fi, computer rooms, library, recreational area and drawing labs. The infrastructure is not huge and facilities like canteen food and medical provided, are of basic level. Small game events take place regularly. We celebrate sports day.
Faculty: Experienced teachers were very helpful and knowledgeable. Fresh teachers were not able to handle classes well. The faculty strength was weak. The course curriculum is relevant to the industry however, few subjects are not very helpful. Students, however, are not brought face to face with real site experiences.
