Commonly asked questions
On Admissions

Q:   Does Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College accept NEET score?

A:

Yes, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), like all other medical colleges in India, accepts NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) scores for admissions into its MBBS program. NEET is the national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate medical courses in various government and private medical colleges across India, including JNMC.

NEET is the primary eligibility criteria for admission to MBBS programs in India. Candidates aspiring to pursue MBBS at JNMC or any other medical college need to appear for NEET and obtain a qualifying score as mandated by the college and the government regulations.

The NEET exam assesses candidates' knowledge in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). Students who meet the NEET score cutoff set by JNMC and fulfill other eligibility criteria as specified by the college can apply for admission to the MBBS programme at JNMC.

Q:   What is the seat intake for MBBS at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College?

A:

Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), affiliated with Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), typically has a certain number of seats available for the MBBS program. However, the exact seat intake or the number of seats for the MBBS programme at JNMC can vary from year to year and is subject to change based on government regulations, policies, and approval.

The number of seats for MBBS at JNMC is determined by regulatory bodies such as the Medical Council of India (MCI), now replaced by the National Medical Commission (NMC), and might be influenced by factors like infrastructure, faculty availability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The seat intake for the MBBS programme at JNMC, along with details regarding seat reservations for different categories (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD, etc.), is usually mentioned in the official notification or prospectus released by JNMC or AMU during the admission cycle.

Q:   Can I join Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College directly?

A:

No, typically, candidates cannot join Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) directly without following the prescribed admission process. JNMC, like other medical colleges in India, has a specific admission procedure that must be followed for entry into its MBBS program.

Admission to JNMC for the MBBS course is primarily through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), which is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Candidates aspiring to study MBBS at JNMC need to appear for NEET and obtain a qualifying score as per the cutoff set by the college and the government regulations.

After clearing NEET, candidates must participate in the counseling process conducted by the concerned authorities. Admissions to JNMC or any other medical college are based on the NEET score, merit ranking, availability of seats, and fulfillment of other eligibility criteria as specified by the college and government regulations.

Additionally, keep an eye on official notifications, admission announcements, or press releases from JNMC or AMU regarding the admission process, application availability, and important dates for the current academic year.

JNMC: The college of my dreams .
Placements: In MBBS there isn't a concept of placement but yes, for PG almost all the students get a seat in JNMC or other colleges because of the 50% internal seat quota. Many students have cleared USMLE as well and are well settled. The passing rate for NEET PG and INI CET is quite high.
Infrastructure: The campus is small but beautiful. It is connected to JNMCH through a long corridors. The labs are well-equipped. The book bank is quite well-equipped with ample of books. The hostel is good with decent mess food. We have 2 canteens which also provide affordable and good food.
Faculty: The teaching quality is awesome. The teachers are well educated and put in a lot of effort to teach the students. The practical knowledge is inculcated from the first year itself. The exams are quite hard to pass if we don't study properly but it is worth it.
Other: MBBS is a prestigious degree but comes with a loy of responsibility. We have to keep a balance from the start.

Infrastructure of college is good.
Placements: There were 150 students until this year, but there is a proposal to increase the number of seats. The average salary package offered was about 12 LPA in hand after MBBS from this college as a junior resident. There are almost 100% of internships as it is compulsory in MBBS. Top role is offered after this course depending on PG branch.
Infrastructure: A Wi-Fi facility is available. Library is very good, which includes the issuing of medical books for a year. Classrooms are good and air-conditioned. Canteen is very bad and unhygienic; even the mess and food quality are not so good, especially for vegetarians. There is no computer lab.
Faculty: Teachers are very well qualified with very good teaching skills, especially in the clinical branch and have very good clinical exposure. The exams are quite tough, but the intention of most of teachers is that students should pass the examination. Pass percentage is about 80%-90%.

It has good clinical exposure. Our college and hostel life is better.
Placements: I have never seen any students getting a degree from here unemployed or having a less pay scale. Most students opt for post-graduation, and the majority of them get a seat in any specialization. Although very few candidates search for work in a private setup after MBBS and they also get a decent amount.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good, and students can feel the beauty of nature. Classrooms are air-conditioned, practical laboratories are fine, and demonstration rooms are better because 20-30 students are taught there at a time. The hostel infrastructure is good with a big playground, average canteen, fine dining, and rooms are good.
Faculty: Faculty members are very supportive. The curriculum is common in all colleges as it is decided by the government. Students do not get much supply in their exams as compared to other colleges in the state. Teachers especially try to improve those students who are lagging in their studies.

It has good infrastructure, well-qualified teachers, beautiful campus, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Placements: A good number of MBBS pass-outs clear the very difficult PG entrance exam called NEET PG INI and CET for admission in post-graduate courses in prestigious colleges like AIIMS and other best colleges. All the students tend to do internships after their final year.
Infrastructure: Our campus has good and Wi-Fi enabled. The whole university has Wi-Fi. The labs in our college are fully-equipped with the instruments required, and all the lab assistants are eager to help. The lecture theaters are spacious enough with a seating capacity of around 200 people, well-furnished and well-conditioned with enough air conditioners. The library is very spacious where a maximum of 200 students can study at a time. It is a very well place with zero disturbance with air-conditioners. The hostel environment is very friendly. Seniors are very helpful. Food is like our home food. Sports are given special importance. All the competitions are regularly held.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. As the teachers are very well-qualified, they try to share the best of their knowledge. The exams here are really difficult to pass. A majority of students pass the exams with a percentage of 90%.
Other: The main purpose of joining this course is that I wanted to serve needy people directly. The best thing about my course is it gives eternal peace when the patient smiles after he recovers.

It is one of the best medical colleges in terms of education but not so much for extra-curriculars.
Placements: The college offers excellent placement opportunities. All students get a mandatory internship of 1 year in the associated hospital with clinical rotations of various durations in all departments. Students from this college have repeatedly achieved great ranks in the NEET PG entrance test and INI CET exams.
Infrastructure: The Infrastructure of this prestigious institute is one of the best that a medical college can offer. Since the university is a central government-aided university, it receives monetary grants for educational and various co-curricular developments. The facilities provided are at par with the best medical colleges in the country.
Faculty: The teaching faculty members are some of the best in the country in terms of their knowledge. They use modern teaching pedagogies and various teaching aids to teach the various clinical aspects of the curriculum. Regular tests are conducted to keep the preparation of students in check.

Most underrated medical college.
Placements: I don't think placement matters in Med schools. I'm giving a five-star rating in this column because of the Internal PG reservation. This college provides you with a quota of 50% to pursue a PG. Almost everyone gets some of the other courses in Post Graduation.
Infrastructure: The college has a good infrastructure but the first-year lecture hall doesn't have an air conditioner. So in summers, it becomes quite difficult. The boys' hostel is super cool. Has almost more than 500 rooms but you may not end up getting a room in the first year as most of the rooms are occupied by 9th - 10th grade students that's a sad part.
Faculty: In Med school, you have to study everything on your own. Most of the professors come, show their slides, and go away but few try their best to bring out good lectures. The examination system is good, exams happen very frequently and paper standards are also good.
Other: Aligarh Muslim University as a campus is good but Aligarh as a city is not so good. So you may not end up having a great social life as very few fests are conducted. However, you can join a few Music clubs, Drama, Debate, Film, etc., and improve your skills.
