March 26, 2020: The management of JIS College of Engineering has rolled out the notice of suspension of regular cases of ongoing batches amid this pandemic situation of COVID -19. The classes were suspended on March 6, but considering the importance of learning and need to continue the curriculum, the college has moved from traditional classroom teaching model to Virtual classroom teaching. Students will continue with all of their trainings remotely, including participating in projects, co-curricular and extra-curricular experiences.
The College is also trying hard to facilitate the option of e-library to students.
‘Team Yaan’ Makes it to the Finale of Smart India Hackathon 2020
February 28, 2020: The Team Yaan from the second year of Computer Science and Engineering department of JIS College of Engineering participated in the software edition of Smart India Hackathon 2020. College and universities across the country participate in this event in large numbers. With all the efforts, the team could possibly make it to the final round which is to be held on July 18-19. The event provides students with a platform to address some of the pressing challenges faced by us in our everyday lives, Smart India Hackathon 2020 offers an underlying philosophy of product creation and a conceptual approach to solving problems. More than five lakh students from various colleges gathered in the last version of the hackathon at more than 65 locations
The event also gives students a platform to work on real-life challenges faced by various departments, industries, PSUs and NGOs to come up with best possible solutions for them. Hence, enhancing their employability skills.
