General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) - Batch of 2024

For now, more improvement is required.
Placements: Recruitment and placement offers are not great, but for junior batches, it's improving. You will also get some freedom as a student, which might be good or bad depending on how you use it. You must work independently here; most of the staff aren't very helpful.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average at best and can be improved. Very poor Wi-Fi and food in the boys' hostel can be a bit bad, with no privacy as security is too tight. It's good, but some freedom must be given since students are not kids. Some rules are necessary, but they should be reasonable.
Faculty: Some teachers are good, while others are not very helpful. In the third year, you need to study on your own and succeed; nobody will teach you personally. You need to go to the library and study by yourself. Only some teachers might be helpful.
Other: Not good, average at best.

Really Good Infrastructure and Facilities
Placements: Basically, there were more than 130 students in my batch. For this GNM course, eligibility requires you to pass out with any arts or humanities stream with a minimum of 50-60%. This college will accept students who meet these criteria. The highest package offered was not specified, but I came with a scholarship from my state government, so it was not that costly. For private students, the course fees per year might be 80,000 to 1 lakh, but it decreases over the years. The lowest fee was 65,000. I didn't get recruitment from any office. My seniors completed their degree at this college and are now working in their hometowns. I find this college is a really good choice for this course. Internships are provided by the college, but we can also arrange them ourselves. Overall, it is a great choice to do this course with better staff and faculty facilities.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is really good as the college is situated near the road area, close to every requirement. There are large classrooms with projectors, and presentations and demonstrations are held. Separate libraries, an OBG lab, a community lab, and well-maintained washrooms with 24/7 water facilities are available. Regarding the hostel, I was a scholarship student, so I only stayed for one year as my brother was staying in an apartment. I moved out in the second year, but the facilities include Wi-Fi, 24/7 water, and daily cleaning. The quality of food is average, as it mainly consists of typical South Indian food, but it's okay. You can also use a small gas stove to cook. For medical facilities, there are many hospitals and pharmacy shops nearby. For sports, there is a ground for playing football and a basketball arena on the college campus, though not near the hostel.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified and have a lot of experience. They are always keen to help, and every teacher is really good at their subject. Their communication skills are excellent, and they are friendly. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant as it includes many postings to hospitals where you will learn practical skills. After completion, you can be ready to work in a hospital. Semester exams are not too difficult if you prepare and study properly, as regular classes are held, and teachers provide demonstrations and notes that are very helpful for preparation.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to be in the medical field. However, due to my earlier decision to choose arts instead of science, I found this diploma course after completing my 12th grade. It helps me to be in the medical field and help others. Everything in my course is good. There are many events throughout the year, and different festivals are celebrated. The campus surroundings are pleasant, with canteens and many sports functions as well.
