B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2015
Offered by KC Institute of Engineering and Technology, KC Group of Institutions
1.8

Not satisfied because there were no placements.
Placements: No one got placed from my batch. I have done mechanical engineering from this college in 2015, and I got 65% at that time. Not even one company visited the college for placements, but for electronics, only Micromax came from Uttarakhand. They took students at the worker level, no one got placed in the professional line.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college is okay. The Wi-Fi facility is provided for hostlers only, and the rooms are good in hostel including A/C facility. The labs and classrooms are good, but there was a shortage of lecturers. The canteen food was not good at my time. The staff of the college is not cooperative, they take a lot of fine on late payment of fee and for shortage of attendance.
Faculty: Faculty of the college is okay. They do not have good teachers for B.Tech, but for pharmacy and diploma, the faculty is good. There are many courses available like BCA, BBA, MBA, etc., but you can't apply for M.Tech in diploma (Polytechnic) and degree (B.Tech). You can also do electric and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, civil and computer engineering.
Other: Events and fests do happen several times in the college. Competitions are also held between the students. If you want a scholarship, then you may apply here.

A review on the poor condition of KC college.
Placements: There are no placements in my class. I never heard of good placements in any big company. This college is only a money machine. Zero percent placement is provided to my batch and my seniors batch. No placements are provided for the civil department in my batch as well as the senior batch. People make fun of students because there are no placements.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is not good. There is no playground. We faced water problems several times. The hostel food is of poor quality. The lab's condition is very poor. There are old books in the library and no arrangement of new books. The hostel rooms are small and water quality is poor, no RO and water purifier are present. The medical facilities are average.
Faculty: The engineering department is in very bad hands. There are no experienced teachers. No practicals are performed. There are knowledgeable teachers and inexperienced teachers. They have poor teaching quality. The teachers only depend on books, no practical knowledge. The teachers never help their students. The teachers always use books for teaching, never want to go with students in practical knowledge. The field visits with students are very low, and they never take quick action on demands of students.
Other: Wi-Fi connectivity is poor. The engineering department is not fully filled. A fest was celebrated only once in last 6 years. There is a good scholarship program. There are no events and poor in extracurricular activities.

I do not recommend anyone to join this college unless he just needs a degree.
Placements: There are simply zero placements. On the name of placement, they call fake companies and advertise that in newspapers. Or otherwise, in very rare case, they will place you in some assembly line company on contract for like Rs. 6-7,000 per month, where you will find yourself working with labour class.
Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi is accessible for students. Toilets are even the worst than public toilets in old railway stations. The classroom condition is a pity. There is nothing in the name of games, and playing a cricket match once in a year is not sports. The labs and canteen are a joke. They are just making buildings and not even painting them, and there is nothing inside that buildings.
Faculty: The faculty have their own back logs. They are B.Tech graduates (that also with backlogs) and are teaching B.Tech students. They are unprofessional, with an unnecessary attitude, and are just doing time pass. There is zero exposure of outside world to students. Rather than investing 5-6-7 Lacs here, start some business and do some other graduation side by side.
Other: They placed us (hypothetically) in one of the top IT firms (TechMahindra, I will name it), but after B.Tech, when I approached them, they said it is a fake offer letter. My photo was there in the newspapers for getting placed out of this college, but in reality, I was jobless for quite a long time after B.Tech. Trust me, I was one of the top performers in this college.

Other: Best thing about this college is its location. It is situated between the mountains. Climate here remains very good. The college is backed by the government of Uttarakhand. It offers B.Tech in 4 streams. Faculty here is good and cooperative. Campus is also good with free Wi-Fi. College is not completely ragging free.
Placement of this college is almost nil. Industry exposure is also very less. This college is still in growing phase and is not established yet.

Other: It is a government college set up in a collaboration with a mini ratna PSU (THDC INDIA Ltd.). But the role of the PSU is limited to providing funding for college's infrastructure. The campus is spread in an area of about 20 acres.
It has a well-equipped workshop and two computer labs with high speed internet facility. The placements are almost zero and not a single company visits the campus for mechanical engineering department.

Other: Crowd is not that good. But teachers here are quite helpful. You can get in touch any time to understand or to find a solution to any problem. If we talk about co-curricular activities: you can be a part of sports, youth festivals that takes place in other colleges.
