HPCET 2025: Exam Date (OUT), Application Form, Eligibility, Pattern, Syllabus, Admission Process

Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) is organized by Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) to provide BTech/BPharm/BHMCT & BSc/MTech/MPharm/MSc/MBA/BBA/MCA/BCA admissions into the participating institutes of the state. HPCET is held offline i.e., as a pen-and-paper-based test at various exam centres. BTech admissions are also offered based on JEE Main and 12th standard qualifying examination scores.

The important highlights of HPCET 2025 can be checked from the table given below. 

HPCET 2025 application form will be released online for all eligible candidates. No other mode of application will be accepted. While filling out the application form, the candidates will have to provide the required personal, academic and contact details. Next, the candidates will have to select their exam centres in the order of preference, upload scanned documents and pay the application fee. The candidates will have to pay the HPCET 2025 application fee online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card/UPI. After the HPCET 2025 application form last date, no requests for registration will be accepted.

HPCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can take a look at the eligibility criteria required for admission to BTech programmes through HPCET. Before HPCET 2025 registration, the candidates are advised to check the official eligibility criteria carefully. Those candidates who fail to meet the eligibility criteria will not be considered for admission into the participating institutes.

BTech (Direct): The candidate must have passed class 12th or its equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects securing at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.

Basic admission criteria for BTech programmes:

• In case the seats remain vacant after exhausting the merit of JEE (Main) and HPCET, the remaining seats will be filled up based on the merit of the 12th standard examination conducted by a recognized Board or University.
• The number of seats remaining vacant after taking admission based on each test/examination will be shifted and filled based on the next text/examination in continuous order.

Note: The % indicates the marks obtained by the candidate in the entrance test/10+2 examination out of the total marks assigned to the entrance test/examination.

HPCET 2025 syllabus will be released online. The list of subjects, units and topics to be studied for the entrance examination can be checked through the HPCET syllabus 2025. While preparing for the exam, the candidates are advised to carefully check the HPCET syllabus so that they can prepare their study strategy. As per the syllabus of HPCET 2025, the subjects to be studied for the entrance exam are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

The authorities will release the HPCET 2025 exam pattern soon. Through the HPCET exam pattern 2025, the candidates will be able to check the details of how the entrance examination will be conducted. Some of the important information available through the HPCET exam pattern are the examination mode, duration, sections, type of questions, marking scheme and more. By being familiar with the exam pattern beforehand, the candidates will have a better understanding of what to expect in the examination and how to accordingly prepare for it.

To perform well in the entrance examination, the candidates are encouraged to follow certain preparation tips of HPCET 2025. Listed below are some of the preparation tips for the upcoming entrance exam. 

• Check Syllabus and Exam Pattern - One of the first preparation steps is to check the official syllabus and exam pattern of HPCET 2025. By knowing the syllabus and pattern in detail, the candidates will be able to come up with an effective preparation plan to score well in the exam. 
• Personalized Timetable - Next, the candidates should create a personalized timetable so that they can make sure that the syllabus is equally distributed to be studied. A personalized timetable will also ensure that the candidates can study as per their capabilities.
• Solve Mock Tests - During the preparation period, the candidates are advised to regularly solve mock tests as it will help them to assess their progress. Mock tests will also help the candidates understand how the entrance exam will be held.
• Revision - Candidates should revise regularly to ensure that they do not forget anything that they have studied so far. 

The official HPCET 2025 admit card date has not been released yet. Registered candidates will be able to access the HPCET admit card 2025 online by logging in using the required credentials. Through the admit card of HPCET 2025, the candidates will be able to check their allotted exam centre, date, timings, guidelines and more. At the HPCET 2025 exam centre, the candidates will have to present their admit card and valid identity proof. Without the HPCET 2025 hall ticket, the candidates will not be allowed to attempt the exam.

HPCET 2025 result will be released online at himtu.ac.in. The scores and ranks obtained in the entrance examination will be available in the HPCET result 2025. No other mode will be used to announce the HPCET 2025 scores. The merit list for admission will be prepared based on the performance of the candidates in the entrance examination/qualifying examination. The authorities will not accept requests to review the obtained scores.

Qualified candidates will have to participate in the HPCET 2025 counselling. During the HPCET counselling process, the candidates will have to provide their personal and academic information. Candidates will also have to upload their scanned documents. The authorities will release the HPCET 2025 seat allotment dates, which will be held offline at the counselling venue. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's merit, preferences, category and seat availability. The authorities will also accept admissions based on 12th standard qualifying marks. The allotted candidates will have to confirm their admission at their respective institute by paying the required fee and verifying their documents.
