HPCET 2025 official dates are expected to be announced soon. To participate in the entrance exam and admission process, the candidates will have to fill out and submit the HPCET 2025 application form before the final date, which will be announced soon. The authorities will conduct HPCET 2025 as a pen-and-paper-based test. The HPCET 2025 question paper will consist of 150 objective multiple-choice questions. While reporting to the exam centre, the candidates will have to present their HPCET 2025 admit card. Through the HPCET 2025 result, the candidates will be able to check their obtained scores and ranks. Qualified candidates will be eligible for admissions through HPCET 2025 counselling. However, the authorities will also consider 12th-standard qualifying examination scores for admission. Q:   What are the eligibility criteria for HPCET?

Eligibility Criteria for the HPCET exam: Bachelor of Technology (Direct): The student must have passed class 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognised Board or University with Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry Biotechnology, Biology Technical Vocational subjects securing at least 45 percent marks for the general category and 40 percent in case of student belonging to reserved category. Basic admission criteria for Bachelor of Technology programs: In case the seats remain vacant after exhausting the merit of the Joint Entrance Examination Main and Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test, the remaining seats will be filled up on the basis of merit of the 12th standard examination conducted by a recognised Board or University. What is HPCET?

Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) is organized by Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) to provide BTech/BPharm/BHMCT & BSc/MTech/MPharm/MSc/MBA/BBA/MCA/BCA admissions into the participating institutes of the state. HPCET is held offline i.e., as a pen-and-paper-based test at various exam centres. BTech admissions are also offered based on JEE Main and 12th standard qualifying examination scores.

HPCET 2025 Application Form

HPCET 2025 application form will be released online for all eligible candidates. No other mode of application will be accepted. While filling out the application form, the candidates will have to provide the required personal, academic and contact details. Next, the candidates will have to select their exam centres in the order of preference, upload scanned documents and pay the application fee. The candidates will have to pay the HPCET 2025 application fee online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card/UPI. After the HPCET 2025 application form last date, no requests for registration will be accepted.

HPCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can take a look at the eligibility criteria required for admission to BTech programmes through HPCET. Before HPCET 2025 registration, the candidates are advised to check the official eligibility criteria carefully. Those candidates who fail to meet the eligibility criteria will not be considered for admission into the participating institutes.

BTech (Direct): The candidate must have passed class 12th or its equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects securing at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.

Basic admission criteria for BTech programmes:

  • In case the seats remain vacant after exhausting the merit of JEE (Main) and HPCET, the remaining seats will be filled up based on the merit of the 12th standard examination conducted by a recognized Board or University.
  • The number of seats remaining vacant after taking admission based on each test/examination will be shifted and filled based on the next text/examination in continuous order.

Note: The % indicates the marks obtained by the candidate in the entrance test/10+2 examination out of the total marks assigned to the entrance test/examination.

Q:   What is the application fee of HPCET?

A:

While filling out the HPCET application form, the candidates will have to pay the fee to be registered for the examination and admission process. Candidates will be able to make the fee payment online i.e., through net banking/debit card/credit card/UPI. SC/ST/BPL category candidates have to pay INR 800 as the HPCET application fee, while other category candidates will have to pay INR 1,600. If the candidates are not able to pay the fee, then the application will not be accepted.

Q:   How can I register for HPCET?

A:

Candidates will be able to register for HPCET online at the official website. During the registration process, the candidates will have to provide their basic details. A password also has to be generated for future login. After the registration is done, the candidates will have to log in and fill out the application form with the required personal, academic and contact details. Next, the candidates will have to upload their scanned photograph and signature, as per the official specifications. Finally, the application fee has to be paid online.

Q:   Will HPCET be held online?

No. HPCET will be held offline i.e., as a pen-and-paper-based test. Candidates will have to report to their allotted centre and attempt the examination in offline mode. HPCET consists of multiple-choice questions that have to be attempted in 3 hours 15 minutes. All of the answers have to be marked in OMR sheets. The entrance examination will not be held in any other mode.

HPCET 2025 Admit Card

The official HPCET 2025 admit card date has not been released yet. Registered candidates will be able to access the HPCET admit card 2025 online by logging in using the required credentials. Through the admit card of HPCET 2025, the candidates will be able to check their allotted exam centre, date, timings, guidelines and more. At the HPCET 2025 exam centre, the candidates will have to present their admit card and valid identity proof. Without the HPCET 2025 hall ticket, the candidates will not be allowed to attempt the exam.

HPCET 2025 Result

HPCET 2025 result will be released online at himtu.ac.in. The scores and ranks obtained in the entrance examination will be available in the HPCET result 2025. No other mode will be used to announce the HPCET 2025 scores. The merit list for admission will be prepared based on the performance of the candidates in the entrance examination/qualifying examination. The authorities will not accept requests to review the obtained scores.

Q:   Is there a tie-breaking rule for HPCET result?

A:

Yes, the authorities do prepare tie-breaking rules in case two or more candidates secure the same marks in HPCET or the qualifying exam. In such situations, firstly, the candidates who have a higher HPCET score in Physics will be ranked higher, followed by Chemistry. In case the tie still remains, then the qualifying examination marks will be taken into consideration for allotment of ranks. Finally, if the tie does not break, then the candidates who are older in age will be allotted the higher rank.
