Good college and better infrastructure available.
Placements: Approximately 70 percent of students were placed, and more than 15 percent of students got internships. The highest salary package offered is 11 lakhs per annum, and the lowest salary package offered is 3.5 lakhs per annum. Many companies visit our college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is excellent, and good facilities are available, such as Wi-Fi with unlimited access, a library with research papers and articles, and separate departments. Hostel facilities include food, electricity, and Wi-Fi. Medical facilities are also available, and sports and events are conducted.
Faculty: Lecturers are very kind, well-qualified, and have good knowledge of teaching. They have completed higher education, such as PhDs. Our course is not curriculum-relevant. Semester exams are quite difficult, and we have to work hard to get marks. The passing percentage is around 45 percent.

A really good supportive and liberal institute to get into the design field.
Placements: KSID has placed around 97 percent of the students who attended the course. As a design student, I have been able to get placements on internships for courses design-based, along with other media and visual courses of the students choice. Top recruiting companies include Royal Enfield, Mercedes Benz, Rather energy, Mirali clothing studio, Milan Design, Aesthetic Kunj Amma, Rockstar games, Unreal Engine, etc. The B. Des degree offers roles like product designer, interior designer, fashion designer, industrial designer, graphic designer, art director, furniture designer, illustrator, digital artist, animator and visual designer.
Infrastructure: The institution has a product lab providing a plastic and mental prototyping workshop, a woodworking and bamboo workshop, an IT lab for interface and media design, computer-aided industrial design, a textile lab and an apparel design workshop. The campus is well-equipped with 24-hour Wi-Fi-equipped classrooms, a fully stocked computerised library and an e-library. An amphitheater for events and sports. Hostels are available for both men and women separately, with a common room for both male and female students to work together and a hygienic bathroom and toilets specifically for both hostels. Mess is situated right in the hostel area, providing hygienic seating and high-quality food. The common room provides medical aid facilities too. There is also a fab lab to be constructed with the help of the Kerala Startup Mission and the WDC (World Design Council).
Faculty: The faculty members are really encouraging and helpful; they are qualified in different design fields, worked in major design companies, and are qualified Design professional degree holders from National Design Institutes like NID, NIFT, IIT, IDS, etc. The communication between the teachers and students, along with the bond created, is also of high value, according to me and my fellow collegemates. The semester exams are at an intermediate level. As design is a course with practical and creative knowledge, a bit of practice, confidence and effort can help anyone pass the exams.
Other: I chose B. Des as I have had a passion for animated movies and graphic design since childhood. Creating visual design that can bring joy and satisfaction to people and those around me was my passion. The best thing about B.Des is that you learn a lot of things in the creative and marketing business and world, all through learning what is already known and learning things from different perspectives. The course has a really good way of learning, exploring and understanding aspects. Improvements, such as more workshops in collaboration with industrial designers, can be appreciated. A lot of workshops, festivals, and events are conducted throughout the 4-year academic year. Collaborations with a lot of industry-based companies, institutions, studios, design entrepreneurs and professionals are conducted.

The overall seats available across all courses offered by Kerala State Institute of Design is up to 30. Good thing to know is that Kerala State Institute of Design has courses which are approved by prominent Government bodies like AICTE.
