    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Is it worth pursuing BE/BTech at Konark Institute of Science and Technology (KIST)?

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the key points:

    Placement Opportunities:
    * About 90% of students are placed in various companies, with a minimum salary package of 3.3 LPA.
    * Top recruiters include Infosys, Wipro, and others.
    * However, placement opportunities vary across branches, with Mechanical Engineering having almost 100% placement record.

    Teaching Quality:
    * Teachers are generally considered helpful, knowledgeable, and qualified.
    * However, some teachers may not be up-to-date with the latest developments in the industry.

    Curriculum:
    * The course curriculum is industry-oriented and prepares students for real-world scenarios.
    * However, some students felt that the curriculum lacks relevance to current industry trends.

    Hostel Life:
    * The hostel facility is good, with comfortable rooms, free Wi-Fi, and separate bathrooms and toilets.
    * Food quality in the canteen varies, with some students finding it satisfactory while others had mixed reviews.

    Campus Infrastructure:
    * The college has a good infrastructure, with modern air-conditioned labs, a large library, and playing grounds for sports.
    * However, some students mentioned that the classrooms could use improvements, and the Wi-Fi connectivity is sometimes unreliable.

    Events and Fests:
    * While there are limited events and fests organized on-campus, students enjoyed the ones that took place.
    * More focus could be given to organizing extracurricular activities and events.

Overall, Konark Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) seems to have its strengths and weaknesses. While it offers good placement opportunities, decent infrastructure, and supportive teachers, it may lack in terms of relevance to current industry trends and providing more extracurricular activities. Ultimately, whether or not it's worth pursuing a degree at KIST depends on individual preferences and priorities.

I am absolutely satisfied with the fee structure.
Placements: About 90% of students are placed in our course. The lowest salary package offered is 3.3 LPA. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, etc., recruit students from the CSE branch. The top role offered is software developer.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility is good as I stayed for three years. It provides free Wi-Fi, and three students are allowed to stay in one room. Every room has a separate bathroom and toilet. The food in the canteen is very good. A separate car is assigned for the hospital facility.
Faculty: Teachers are friendly. They teach well. I am satisfied. The course curriculum is industry-oriented, so it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are very tough if you do not study properly.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in the IT field. Events like Utopia and DJ Night are organised by students.

The college has good facilities and placements.
Placements: 90% of students got placed in KIST College. In mechanical engineering, almost all the students got placements. Tata Motors, Mahindra, Hero, Maruti Suzuki, etc., came here to recruit students. The average package offered is 2 to 5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The hostel is good, neat and clean. Canteen facilities are good. Sports facilities are available in college. The classrooms have Wi-Fi facilities and projectors. The college library is always open, and you can go there any time and study.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. During semester exams, they are always helpful. Teachers will clear your doubts at anytime you go to them. Semester exams are easy to score good marks. 80% is the first rank, 70% is second rank, and 60% is third rank here.
Other: Fests and many extracurricular activities are conducted here.

It is bad for placements and infrastructure, and it has poor facilities.
Placements: All the companies are of poor level. If you get placed from college, you have to pay your salary of 2 months in advance to KIST. The highest salary offered in placements is 16,000 per month. They don't provide internships as no company visited here for that. If you request them, they will bring 2-3 companies for campus placements. Mostly, they will take you to other colleges for placements.
Infrastructure: The hostel is good. The library is good for studies. Wi-Fi is available, but it doesn't work properly. Hostel rooms have attached bathrooms. They say that they clean bathrooms every week, but they will clean after 1-2 months if you request them. The hostel is on campus. It has a small cafeteria. No shop is available nearby. The food quality in the canteen is bad.
Faculty: The teaching quality is not good. There are only a few teachers. Some teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. They will not make you industry-ready. They are very strict during exams. 3-4 CCTV cameras and 3-4 guards are available in the exam hall. They are very strict. Even if you move your head, they can cancel your exam.
Other: The campus placements are poor, please don't take admission in this college. There are no fests.

I am satisfied with the developed infrastructure and facilities provided by the college.
Placements: I think about 70-80% of the students get placed. Many companies visit our college to hire students. The average salary package offered in each branch is great.
Infrastructure: The library is the most beautiful place where you can use any source, from hard copies to computerised systems. Classrooms and labs could be better than what it is now. The hostels are much better. You get a bathroom and balcony attached to each room.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful, qualified, polite and knowledgeable. They are dedicated to their responsibility and profession. The course curriculum is pretty easy, and that helps us in the examination as well. Semesters exams should be a bit easier.

The college is value for money.
Placements: About 60% of students were placed from my course. The highest and average salary package offered is 2.4 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 1.20 LPA. The top recruiting companies here are Raybiztech, Jaro Education, etc. None of the students got internships from my course. The top role offered in my course is a software developer.
Infrastructure: The lab facilities are available but not used mostly. From 1st year to 2nd year, the classrooms are conducted every day by the faculty members, but after that, all faculty members listen to only those students who don't want lectures. There are no rules for the hostel, and food is overall below average because many students give money to the mess in-charge to make chicken and other dishes in front of all students. Medical facilities are good, and for sports, only cricket is available.
Faculty: All teachers here are helpful, and they are qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is provided to students to make them industry-ready. It makes students ready for the industry, but if the industry is not good, they can't join that industry. Semester exams are very easy here. The pass percentage is 40% of marks.
Other: I am interested in technologies and their relevant things, so I chose this course. The best thing about this course is coding which I like always. I want them to teach or add only those topics that will be useful in the industry. Some events are organised like Saraswati pooja, farewell party, annual function, etc.

Faculty members of our college are very helpful. Our campus is wonderful.
Placements: Placement opportunities in our college were very good. Almost 70% of the students got placed in companies like Byju's and Tata, and other companies also visited our college to hire students. The highest salary package offered here was 4.25 LPA. Most of the students did not get placed because of a lack of knowledge.
Infrastructure: Our college is huge as it is spread around 8 acres of land. Our college has all the facilities like a canteen, sports and a library where thousands of books are available for students. There is a gymnasium for a healthy life for students. The most important thing in our college is greenery.
Faculty: Teachers here are very helpful and highly educated. Most of the teachers from IITs visited here for weekly classes. All kinds of lab materials are available for practicals, which are very helpful for students to gain knowledge about industry which will be very helpful for their entire life.
Other: Mechanical is the main branch of engineering and is an evergreen branch. So, I chose it. Practical knowledge must be provided for students to learn or understand about the industry. Every year a fest will be organised by 4th-year students, which is very enjoyable. It is the most memorable part of campus life.
