MVJCE Graduate Aashritha Becomes Country’s First Female Flight Test Engineer

May 24, 2021: Aashritha, who is from Kollegal and graduated from M.V.J. College of Engineering - MVJCE in Bengaluru becomes the country’s first female flight test engineer. She was a member of the Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment's 43rd Flight Test Course (ASTE)

She recently graduated from the Air Force Test Pilots School (AFTPS), which is part of the Air Force Test Pilots School (ASTE), the Indian Air Force's premier institution (IAF).

The AFTPS is one of only a few Test Pilot Schools in the world that produces Test Pilots and Flight Test Engineers that go on to excel in a variety of testing programs.

According to Aashritha's family, only roughly 275 graduates have ever passed this school since its beginning in 1973, and she is the first female officer in the history of the Indian Air Force to pass it after arduous training.

MVJCE Hosts Swayam 2020 Online Amid Global Pandemic

July 4, 2020: The global pandemic due to Coronavirus has given a new normal to all the sectors including Education. The education sector has moved to the virtual world and so its related events. Bangalore based Engineering institute, M.V.J. College of Engineering - MVJCE initiated a new trend. The institute hosted its annual National level Inter-Collegiate Cultural Fest, Swayam-2020, virtually. This year the theme of the event was ‘10ERA’ as the institute completes its 10 years of existence. The event was held on June 12.

The event witnessed the active participation of over 400 engineering students across 40 institutions from all over the country who enthusiastically participated in over 21 cultural competitions such as Best Manager, Mono Act, Poetry Writing, Sketching, Dance and Singing. Winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. The event was a successful result of the joint efforts of both faculty and students who worked relentlessly to make the event a grand success. The institute also invited the industry professionals who evaluated the events of their interests after considering the parameters relevant to that event.

MVJCE Hosts Annual Technical Fest ‘VerTechX 10.0’

April 28, 2020: Bengaluru-based engineering college, M.V.J. College of Engineering - MVJCE hosted two-day annual tech festival VerTechX 10.0 on March 9-10. The event aimed at facilitating an opportunity to young budding engineers across the country to showcase their talent. Over 1,500 students from 40 colleges showed active participation in the event. Participants had the opportunity to win the prize money worth Rs 4 lakh by participating various events such as Airborne, Drone GP, Paper plane, Fighter bot, Soccer bot, Biped race (manual controlled robots race), Death race, Innochallenge, CAD venture, Transportation 2020, Crypt and code, Junkyard and Hackathon. There were both individual and group tasks.

All technical events were followed by cultural performances. The two-day tech festival was an informative event where a lot of students showcased their abilities and got the opportunity to join the network of like-minded people.

College Hosts a Talk on ‘World Engineering Day’

March 11, 2020: On the occasion of World Engineering Day, Departments of Civil Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering, M.V.J. College of Engineering - MVJCE, organised a session on ‘Contribution of Engineers for the Sustainable Development of the Country’ on March 4. The event was witnessed by active participation of over 200 students, faculty and non-teaching staff Civil Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. The session aimed to encourage participants to learn about the value of engineering skills and their roles in the field of technical development, to foster the culture of working with advanced technology and to raise awareness of each engineer's contribution to global development.

Institute Organises Industrial Visit to CSIR Fourth Paradigm Institute

February 19, 2020: Department of Information Science and Engineering organised an industrial visit for fourth-semester ISE students to CSIR Fourth Paradigm Institute as a part of their curriculum. The visit was organised on February 10. Senior Scientist Prabhu at Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) also delivered a guest lecture to students explaining the topics related to supercomputers such as their revolution, characteristics and architecture, applications of high-performance computing, data centre features and their institution functionalities, operations and various divisions. Post lecture, students experienced live functioning of supercomputers and its facility.

The visit aimed at giving students practical exposure to corporate world.

Placements: As far as placements are concerned, MVJ College has a decent placement rate. Nearly 75% of students get placed, provided they don't have backlogs! The highest package offered for my branch (ECE) was 20LPA and the lowest ranged up to 3LPA, with an average package of 5LPA. Review of M.V.J. College of Engineering.

Placements: Here, around 70% of students got selected. The highest package we got is 10 LPA, and the lowest package is 3 LPA. Full sack developed. Here, students got placement because of online placements from our college. We didn't get any placements; only a few got placements from the college side.

The campus is really nice and the people are very welcoming.

Placements: 60 percent of students were placed. The highest package offered was 12 LPA, the average was 5.5 LPA, and the lowest was 2 LPA. Top recruiting companies that came were TCS, Cognizant, Sagility, and Mercedes, etc. 60-75% of students got internships at Sagility and NTT, etc. The jobs offered were for data analysts, coders, test engineers, and marketing.
