I am not satisfied with teachers and infrastructure, but all-over good college life experience.
Placements: In MITS, there are 40 seats available for the architecture course. As such, there are no placements offered by the institute, but one has to search for architecture firms for internships. Students are interns in good firms. Usually, students start as interns but most make it to the junior architect in 2 years.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is old as the college was built in the 19th century with the architecture department in 1985. The department is clean and colorful with full ventilation and sunlight. Wi-Fi is available with smart classes, canteen, medical aid, NCC, and sports.
Faculty: Teachers are not very helpful in online classes, but they are useful in offline ones. Teachers are knowledgeable, qualified provide average teaching quality. The curriculum is relevant, and it does not make students industry-ready. The pass percentage is 40%.

B.Arch has very good faculty, bad curriculum, 0 placements, average infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: There are no campus placements for B.Arch. Students have to search for jobs on their own. The college doesn't help for placements, nor internships too. Students have to do 2 internships of 5 months each, and they have to search and apply for them along with the studies. The training and placement cell is non-existent.
Infrastructure: It is a sort of a heritage building, constructed almost 80 years ago. Maintenance is very poor, though, being a government institute. Food in the canteen is okay. Labs and classrooms are on the lower side of the scale. The girls' hostel has been built recently, so it is good, but the condition of the boys' hostel is very poor.
Faculty: Faculty members are really good with most of the senior professors being PhD holders and gold medalists from renowned institutions. Teaching methods are very mediocre, no modern techniques are used. The student to faculty ratio is almost 30:1, which is very low with respect to this branch. Industry exposure is almost nill as very few trips and site visits are organised. Seminars and interactive sessions with architects and other students are very low in number, less than once a year.
Other: Events and fests are tough to plan as very low financial support is provided by the college and also the lack of any student council makes it very hard to manage such activities. Scholarships are provided but only to the reserved sections of the society on the basis of their last name rather than their family income.

The faculties are good in our department; no extra facilities available and average infrastructure.
Placements: There is no placement cell for architecture students in our college. We have to struggle on our own for our placements. The highest stipend in our passing out batch was INR 15,000. The roles offered in today's industry for our course include assistant architect, interior designer, and draftsman.
Infrastructure: The classrooms and studios are not up to the mark. There is no regular maintenance, no Wi-Fi facility available, and the digital support does not match recent trends. Additionally, there are no extra facilities like clubs or co-curricular activities available for students.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and supportive, but they are few. They are well qualified, with some faculty members having received master's degrees from SPA. The course curriculum is decent, well-maintained, and detailed; however, site visits are not frequent, and if we want to go for a site visit, we have to pay for our own experience. The semester exams are above average, and the pass percentage is 33%.

Worse and threatening environment of the college campus after 5 PM due to the hostelers.
Placements: As we all know there are no placements in architecture field but only internships are done, and you are judged and questioned by juniors in your last year. It is all based on your type of internship/work done under that particular firm. If further, your work is way better than others, the firm will call you and hire you. As we talk about internships, they are always good as some go for abroad, one or two under Hafeez in Mumbai and Doshi in Gujarat, some in top locations like Ahmedabad, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Chennai, Chandigarh, etc. These are some common locations that our seniors always go. Others go for GATE preparations.
Infrastructure: The MITS has all the facilities that are required for a student, i.e. peaceful environment, gathering spaces, always helping faculty members and caring staff. There is a small CAD lab since the college is little old, but it always works for us. We have a separate library than the college library for architecture books, and it is also said it is the best architecture library since it has many books. There are 5 studios with one for masters in urban planning. The canteen is not good and hygienic at all, but the college has a small Amul parlour, a cafe, a Puralite dairy, and a soda hut. A stationery is also inside the college campus. All the classrooms have their own projector facilities. There is a sick bay near Amul parlour. There are two new hostel buildings constructed 1 month ago. Since the college is old, so the architecture is not that good, but still, it seems to create a good environment for students as a college.
Faculty: The teachers are always helpful and taking all the chances to teach us. The education level is good here, and it depends on the student that he can take it from the teacher or not. Mostly everything is explained practically with making models, group activities, games, direct interactions with faculty members, debates, presentations, seminars and what not. Every individual is asked, and nobody is left out since the intake is 40. In second year or third year, we get the chance to visit some places in India to learn culture, traditions and the type of architecture in that particular area. The course curriculum, if studied properly, will lead you to be a very good architect.
Other: Raashtray, Querencia, Mitsvah are the main events that the college hosts every year for students of the whole city. Raashtray is a community of students who spread awareness by doing nukkad naataks in college, other colleges and in the city. There is Iste too which is a technical academic chapter for students to revive their school education and favourite subjects through interesting quizzes and games.

In a country of thousands of college, MITS is more than a mediocre.
Placements: Since I'm a student of architecture, there is no placement cell in it. Our seniors have directly applied for the internship in the architectural firms. This year, the director of the college have assured us for bringing architectural firms in the college.
Infrastructure: The college has recently celebrated its 60 years of excellence in technology, is a more than a half-decade old. The infrastructure of the college is beautiful, recently a lot of renovation took place in the campus which made it more beautiful. The college has its own library, canteen and another food parlour like Nescafe and Amul. The quality of food provided is good. The water cooler is present in different areas of the college. The boy's hostel is an old building, but the girl's hostel is newly built and has a good infrastructure.
Faculty: Being in architecture department, we have 5 head professors who are well-qualified and knowledgeable and 8 ad-hoc who are equally qualified, but I feel there should have been more head professor in the department because one head professor is many times busy with his/her own works.
Other: The college is autonomous and one of the best in the state. Being a government college, it mostly follows all its rules and regulation and provides a good environment to the students. The only disadvantage I find in the college is the clash between hostlers and day scholars.

    Satisfactory with the progressive nature.
Placements: There are no placements for the architecture branch. There should be guidance and programme made available for the students for further guidance related to internships and future opportunities. Engineering students do have placements, and they are good with respect to intake by companies and salary offered.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is satisfactory. The Wi-Fi facility is available. Sports needs encouragement and advancements. There should be introductory sessions related to sports activities for the students. It needs high enthusiasm as it lacks participation from students side as well as lack of encouragement from the institution. The notification is only available on ERP dashboard. It should be published in campus so that it can reach a higher mass of students. Architecture classrooms are average. Engineering infrastructure is above average. The quality of the canteen is degradable. Girls hostel and the quality of food offered was excellent whereas this is opposite in the boy's hostel. The security is appropriate. The infrastructure is getting upgraded, and the changes can see in the recent years, and they are positive.
Faculty: Senior faculty for the architecture is good, but their interaction with the student is limited. They are highly knowledgeable and qualified. On the other side, the assistant faculty is under qualified as sometimes they are the fresh graduates. The teaching methods require more practical approach along with more frequent site visits. In the past few years, there were outside city tours along with faculty which has been included in the curriculum which is highly appreciated. The industry exposure is limited. Involvements of the other colleges and participation in competitions and other activities can be seen all around the year which creates an interacting atmosphere amongst the students and the faculty.
Other: The atmosphere in the college sometimes generate a sense of fatigue, and this lack of enthusiasm is because there is a need for extracurricular activities and Tech fest. Around the year, there are many competitions self-organised by students along with heavy participation not only from the institution itself but from other institutes too. The college magazine is an important element which lacks. The security of the college is appropriate. Other branches infrastructure needs up-gradation like the biotechnology. The green atmosphere of the college is well-maintained. A number of good initiatives have been part of this institution like the biking race or the smart city, seminars, etc. Overall, the college is progressing day by day. Some more good initiatives would definitely land on to a very good outcome.
