Q:   Is Maharaja Surajmal Institute good for B.Ed?

    A:
    {Source: B.Ed students & alumni}

Here's a summary of the feedback from students and alumni:

    Placement and Internship
    * About 60% of students get placed, mostly due to individual efforts rather than the college's placement cell.
    * The institute offers internships in the third semester, which helps students secure jobs in reputed schools.
    * Salary ranges from INR20,000 to INR1,00,000 per month.

    Faculty and Teaching Quality
    * Faculty members are generally helpful and wise, although some may not be qualified for their positions.
    * Teaching quality is above average, with a focus on lectures.
    * Some faculty members are more approachable and supportive than others.

    Infrastructure and Facilities
    * Infrastructure is old, with classrooms being dark, non-AC, and poorly ventilated.
    * No medical facilities are available within the campus.
    * Hostel facility is unavailable, but rooms are clean and comfortable.
    * Food quality in the canteen is good and reasonably priced.

    Campus Life and Activities
    * Campus life is limited, with restrictions on student interactions.
    * Extracurricular activities are held occasionally to boost confidence and leadership skills.

    Other Concerns
    * Favouritism exists among teachers, affecting student grades and treatment.
    * Some teachers hold grudges against students and prioritize personal relationships over academic performance.
    * Limited opportunities for creative expression and self-directed learning.

In conclusion, while Maharaja Surajmal Institute has its strengths, particularly in terms of placement and internship opportunities, several concerns regarding faculty bias, infrastructure, and campus life exist. Prospective students should carefully weigh these factors before deciding whether the institute suits their needs.

Q:   Question: How is the course curriculum for B.Ed at Maharaja Surajmal Institute?

    A:
    {Source: B.Ed students & alumni}

Course Curriculum Structuring for B.Ed at Maharaja Surajmal Institute

Based on the reviews provided, here's an overview of how the course curriculum is structured for B.Ed at Maharaja Surajmal Institute:

    * Lecture-based approach: According to one student, "Lecture method is used in teaching."
    * Topic-wise allocation: Students mentioned that teachers allocate topics to students according to roll numbers.
    * Self-study and presentations: In some cases, students are expected to cover the syllabus independently or listen to others' presentations throughout the semesters.

Note that these comments indicate a relatively traditional lecture-style approach with some emphasis on individual self-study and group work. However, the overall structure may benefit from more interactive and student-centric approaches.

Keep in mind that these findings are based on limited reviews and may not represent the entire student body's experience.

Very restricted College life. Placement not great. Academics is fine but not great.
Placements: 60% of the students get placed, but only 5% placements are due to the college's efforts. It's the students who go about applying at different places and get themselves jobs. Hardly any great options are facilitated by the college. Placement committee is a scam.
Infrastructure: No hostel availability. Canteen is average. Classrooms are dark, non-AC (for B.Ed Students) and poorly ventilated. No medical facilities are there as such. The students aren't even allowed to sit in the campus. They are either asked to take classes or go home. No college life, since they're trying to run it just like a school, with timings like 7:50am to 2:30pm. Sports activities are also very basic and not enough.
Faculty: Faculty for English, Social Science and Science is good. Other pedagogies - not so much. Teaching quality is above average. Course curriculum is okay, but not enough to qualify CTET. Semester exams are fine, they just need you to fill the pages that's all. Pass percentage is 35% but everybody passes the exams- thanks to hiking of marks done by the authorities.
Other: I chose B.Ed. To become a teacher. Class discussions were the best part. The authorities are too much focused on discipline and sending the children away. Lack of activities, and not letting children hang out is a big blow in the face of people who are looking for a good college experience.

It is the best college for a B.Ed course in GGSIPU.
Placements: Placements are average in our course. They provide internships in the 3rd semester in different reputed schools that help a lot in getting placed in good schools as a teacher. Many students got a job in government schools and international schools in the 4th semester.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is decent. The campus is spread over a total area of 7-8 acres with a football and cricket ground, which are not full size, but they are maintained beautifully. There are 2 badminton courts, but they are not good. There are 2 basketball courts, which are the worst. For the CSE branch, the computer lab is very good, where 60 computers are available anytime to do experiments. The library is in average condition with many foreign writer's books. There is no Wi-Fi facility for students, and there is no hostel facility also.
Faculty: Faculty members here are very helpful, good and wise also. They always try to give their best to students, but some of them are not qualified like core subjects teachers. However, 80% of the teachers of our college are PhD holders, so you can get teaching experience.
Other: Many extracurricular activities are conducted here to boost your confidence and prepare you to be a leader.

I would not recommend joining this college.
Placements: Nothing good is offered at our college. Department is corrupted.
Infrastructure: The college building is small. There are fans which are 100 miles above the head, and air does not reach to students. Nails are poking out of the desks everywhere, and students' clothes get torn. Even washrooms are not good. Girls are always complaining about the unhygienic situation of washrooms. The atmosphere is utterly negative and inappropriate for any growth or learning.
Faculty: Teachers are not qualified for an A-accredited college. They all were teaching D.Ed earlier at Surajmal and got promoted as B.Ed teachers when the course was introduced. They need materials to teach anything, and there is no scope for students creativity. Teachers are involved in personal and professional politics all the time. They don't care about the welfare of students. It is such a pathetic experience of doing B.Ed from Maharaja Surajmal Institute, which is known as a top college of GGSIPU. The qualification of most of the teachers is fake. Casteism is at a peak, and all the teachers are selected on the basis of their caste. Some are husband-wife as well. So it's not a good college. There are no moral ethics or quality education. Teachers are simply allotting the entire syllabus topic wise to students, according to roll numbers. Throughout the semesters, you are either given a presentation for covering up the syllabus by yourself or listening to others' presentations. Teachers are taking free salaries, and they do nothing.
Other: The B.Ed department is totally biased, and they like students who are good at good with them. If you become their favourite, you can get good marks throughout the course and no matter what you write. Students who are irregular are penalised, and they never give you good marks in practicals. You can clearly understand this once you are provided with the central GGSIPU with papers at the end of the semester where your marks would be better. They can even be better than the topper of the class. Students get low marks in internals due to favouritism. Teachers are brilliant at holding grudges, and they fill you up with negativity once you join this department. You have no freedom, and there is no campus life. They bring up ideas to forcefully implement to appear strict, but they keep on making films of themselves all the time.

Faculty members were satisfying, and placements were good.
Placements: About 70% of the students in the course were placed. The salary offered starts from Rs. 20,000 per month to Rs. 1,00,000 per month. The best schools in Delhi NCR offer placements. Teaching and many more roles were offered to the students. The salary offered for our course ranged between Rs. 20,000-30,000 per month. Almost 80% of the students got internships.
Infrastructure: The college is well ventilated. The Wi-Fi and other facilities provided were very good. The food served in the mess was fresh and hot. The library provides all the required books. The college provides sports facilities.
Faculty: Faculty members of the college were very helpful and friendly. Their teaching was very helpful and understanding. I got exposure to schools because of this college. Students were ready to go to different schools and showcase their skills.
Other: I wanted to be a teacher, and this course provided me with the best of all the ability. The fest is the best part of this college.

    Satisfied and faculty is good.
Placements: No placements for our batch and senior batches. As they don't provide any placements in college but they do have placements for other departments. But we are given a school internship every semester that we call school duty and it is for a specific period.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is old. Classrooms are good. Medical facilities they don't provide as they have room but None Sits there. The food quality in the canteen is good and reasonable. Yes, they have hostel itself in college and room conditions are good. But the washroom is not cleaned from time to time.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is also good. Lecture method is used in teaching. Student-faculty ratio is fine. No, I don't get industry exposure. Yes, the course curriculum is useful to me and is enhancing my skills.
