Malda Medical College - A Short Review on the MBBS Course.
Placements: Malda Medical College is a government medical college where we are provided with the MBBS course, which has a duration of 5.5 years. It includes a total of 4.5 years of academics and 1 year of mandatory internship. There are 9 semester exams and 4 professional university exams conducted by WBUHS (West Bengal University of Health and Science). During the mandatory internship, we are given around 30,000/month.
Infrastructure: We have 19 departments in our college, such as the Department of Anatomy, Physiology, Psychiatry, Radiology, Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Biochemistry, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Paediatrics. Adequate lab facilities, Wi-Fi, lecture theatres, and a central library containing a plethora of books are available. The hostel is good, accommodating 2 to 3 persons per room, and we are provided with a bed, mattress, study table, chair, and almirah.
Faculty: The faculties are well-qualified and very friendly. They always correlate theoretical studies with practical exposure. This course follows a CBME-based curriculum (Competency-Based Medical Education), which is a smart study idea and relevant in this era. The difficulty level is moderate, with a passing percentage of around 80%.
Other: Please visit a hospital before choosing MBBS. If you are determined strongly, go for it. Better healthy food and a greater number of faculty should be provided.

Absolutely satisfied because of studentfriendly environment, faculty, infrastructure.
Placements: In this field and in this course near about two-third people get a chance to do house staff in the same college and rest others try in anoth colleges. Package was not fixed in MBBS. Meny of us continue their currier in big hospital like Apollo, Sonoscan, fortis etc.
Infrastructure: Government. Hostels are allowed for ever MBBS student. 2 stude in a room. Big A. C. lecture theates are present in our college. Wi-Fi is available in the hostels. Labs and library IES are quite good. 2 canteens are available in the college campus and their survices are cheap and best.
Faculty: Teachers in medical college are not permanent. They are circulatin all over the state after a certain period of time. But all teachers are very much qualified and they are actually doctors. Actually they teaches student and give practical knowledge also.
Other: In Malda Medical College patient loads is very high and this is the positive thing for every student. When a student get practical knowledge properly then he become a good doctor and students have a big chance of that as the patient loads is very much high.

I am satisfied with college and surroundings.
Placements: This is a government medical college, so West bengal government hires us. Students get 1 year internship with Rs.28,000 to 30,000. Around 90 seats are available for 125 students which is good. The permanent government job pay scale is around Rs.80,000 per month. Every student got internships under WBUHS. General physicians role is offered.
Infrastructure: Everything is not up to date but the lecture theater, practical lab, and library is well-equipped, Wi-Fi in a hostel, and the 1st-year hostel is separate where we have to buy drinking water. Hostel is mainly regulated by seniors but they are helpful and are available 24x7. Multiple canteens are available. Silver nest serves good food. It is a medical college so medical faculty is always available. Football and cricket are played every day. Other games are played seasonally or occasionally.
Faculty: Teachers are good but aren't always student-friendly because they have to manage wards and clinical sections too. More faculty are needed. Semester exams are syllabus oriented and are moderate. Around 50% is the pass percentage.
Other: I chose MBBS because it is well-paying and want to be a surgeon in the future. The best thing about this course is we never stop learning and have to sharpen our skills every day. Faculty and some cleanliness on campus should be provided. We get freshers within 4-5 months of admission than we get fests every year. Cultural programs like Saraswati pooja are celebrated.

The infrastructure is good, and the facilities are awesome.
Placements: All the students got placed. As this is a medical course, the chances of getting a government job are significantly higher during these covid times. The highest package offered is above 70,000, and the lowest salary is about 50,000, and the average salary is about 60,000. Being an MBBS student, I can definitely say that the course is tough, but the job satisfaction is immense.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are big enough to occupy our batch, and even two batches can easily fit in our classroom. Labs are well conditioned with few malfunctions. The library is awesome, and lots of books are there. The quality of food in the mess is average, and it needs improvement. The staff are good.
Faculty: The teachers are awesome and well-qualified to teach us. Their way of teaching is fabulous. We are blessed to have teachers like that in our college. The course curriculum is absolutely relevant and will eventually help us become good doctors. Semester exams are moderately tough, but it can be managed considering that most students pass them with flying colours.

I am satisfied with the faculty members.
Placements: All the students got jobs at decent hospitals, and many students prefer to go for private practice. The salary offered will range from a maximum of 3 lacs per month to Rs. 40,000 per month for those students who went for PG studies. Doctors can go for hospitals like Appolo and other very premium hospitals as well as private practice. Every student gets internships, and most of them will get in the same college or hospital, and some other students go to other colleges as well.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college was good. Trauma center will be open here soon. The college has a capacity to supply oxygen for 22 days if the world's oxygen gets depleted. The annual college fee is Rs. 9,000 and the hostel fee is Rs.12,000. The college has an awesome library with all kind of required books. The hostel has a table tennis board for sports.
Faculty:
Faculty members are very sober and eager to teach you so that you can treat patients effectively. The course duration is four and a half years, along with one year, where they teach almost everything. The course curriculum is not very detail, so you have to go for higher studies like MD, MS, FRCS, etc.
Other: It is a very noble and highly respected course. Fests are organised every year where various bands like troop Yogendra Sharma, Nikhita Gandhi etc., perform.
