B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2024

Placements and infrastructure are not good. Only a few faculty members are knowledgeable.
Placements: There are no placements by the college. No company will come to the college for placements. You have to search for work by yourself. It's good for mechanical engineering but not for marine engineering.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not good. There will be leakage during the rainy season. Wi-Fi is only available in the computer lab. Labs are good for mechanical engineering. Classroom conditions are not good. The library has only subject-related books. There are no novels or storybooks. The mess food is not up to the mark. It could be made better. There is no canteen or stationery shop inside the campus.
Faculty: Teachers in the mechanical department are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching is very good only for a few faculty members. For those who have less than 80% in PUC, it is very difficult. The passing percentage of students on their first attempt at our college is less than 25%. The management is not good.
Other: It would be good if the infrastructure was made proper and a few faculty members should be replaced by some good faculty. You can enjoy your college life here if you choose mechanical engineering here. There are very few cultural events, etc. You will get 100% of your fees as a scholarship if you belong to SC/ST. They provide 50% for minorities and 40% for OBCs.

There is good discipline maintained on the campus.
Placements: Almost 70% of students got placed in our college. The highest salary package offered is 1.5 LPA. The lowest salary package was offered in mechanical engineering. Anglo-Eastern Ship Management is one of the best companies for placements. In our course, almost 69% of students got internships, and we join the merchant navy.
Infrastructure: This marine college is near Kuppepadavu. It is well constructed and the infrastructure is also is very good. All the classrooms are well maintained to study, and the library has many books that are especially useful for students in the marine field.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very good at teaching. They are also helpful to students, especially in emergencies. They take good care of our studies before exams. They teach us several times if we don't understand and they are very kind-hearted.
Other: This college is very helpful for students from middle-class families as they help to get different types of scholarships for students. I would recommend joining this college if you are interested in this course.

Don't spoil your future by joining this college.
Placements: The college doesn't provide placement opportunities. All the placement records of this college were fake. Since the establishment of this college, only 39 students have got placed, that too 5 years ago, then after, none of the students got placed. The college offers 4 courses of BE, marine engineering, mechanical and civil. Students whoever passed out from the college remains unplaced. This is the worst college ever, and all the documents are fake.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is the worst. On the name of shipbuilding, they will show the pictures of other colleges like CMC. The campus is under construction from the last 5 years, but they say that it will be completed in 6 months, and it is the same case with the hostel too. The whole building has a leakage problem in the rainy season.
Faculty: Faculty members are not knowledgeable. They don't even know the symbol of the moment of inertia. Faculty members rarely come to the classes, and even if they come, they only ask questions to students without teaching. If the student asks a doubt, they'll either leave the class, or they'll ask the student to make an assignment on that topic, but they won't teach anything.
Other: The management is the major con in this college. Even if you clear all the dues, they will still ask for money. They won't let you write the exams or they won't give your documents if you don't pay your dues. Food provided in the mess is the most unhygienic. Rats will be roaming in the mess. The college has conducted only one fest in the college that too in 2014. One cannot take admission in this college without getting placement in marine, this is the new rule of DG shipping.

It is better to choose another college rather than this.
Placements: The college doesn't provide any placements. You need to find it yourself. It is very hard to get placed outside as there is no demand in the market. You need to search for the agents, but you can't believe them. The agents always cheat and run away. I don't know about the placements and the market. It is better to get the scholarship and join this college.
Infrastructure: The college doesn't have proper infrastructure, and the college is under construction. The college provides the hostel facility. The college has a swimming pool which is under construction, and don't expect that to be completed. We have a playground in the college where the students can play football, volleyball and cricket. Visit the college once and decide whether to join this college or not.
Faculty: The college has only a few faculty members. Most of the faculty members of our college are not experienced. Some of them teach well, but they left the college this year to pursue their PhDs. All the faculty members who join this college, try to move to some other colleges. The faculty members of our college are friendly, and some of the faculty members work hard. Sometimes, they teach with the help of projectors also.
Other: The college organises the sports day.

Dissatisfied by the faculty and no placements are provided since the last three batches.
Placements: No placements are provided in college. We even told them to provide some placements, but no use of telling them anything. They just run behind the money, and I don't know what they do with that money. The senior's batch was also not placed properly. We struggled a lot to find a job.
Infrastructure: Think as worse as you can. The labs and others are too worst. No proper equipment. The library is also too worst. The food quality is not good, and there is no canteen on the campus. The hostel rooms are not that good, and the hostel building is also too weak and can fall. All the students face the infrastructure related problems. Even now, my juniors are facing the same problem as we have faced.
Faculty: Some of the faculty are good, and some of them are bad. Some of them have just completed their BE degree and joined here as lecturers. Some lectures are qualified, and some are not that knowledgeable. The student to faculty ratio is fine, but no use of it. We didn't get any proper industry exposure. The course was too bad. It was just a bad experience that we all had had for the last four years.

If studies is all that you care about, then you are welcome here.
Placements: Honesty speaking, there is no such thing as placement in the above-mentioned college. But one can walk into his career goal by clearing examinations hosted by various shipping management companies. It works purely based on one's hard work and efforts. Here are many experienced faculty members who'll guide you to success.
Infrastructure: The college has a wonderful structural infrastructure resembling a ship with a spacious campus and marine workshops with a variety of valves, engines and other marine-related machinery, but that's the end of the good part. When it comes to the maintenance and providing basic amenities, it hits the bottom. There's no Wi-Fi facility provided to the scholars, though it was said to be provided. There is a low-maintained playground and a dripping classroom. Though with so much hardship, there is a little satisfaction as the food provided in the hostel mess is way good. There is neither scope nor encouragement for sports activities.
Faculty: Well-experienced faculty members in the marine department, which includes the chief engineer, 2nd engineer, and other course-based faculty members. The course curriculum mainly deals with the development of an efficient engineer who is well-versed in the operation of various marine onboard machines and their maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
Other: This is the place only for studying, as there is no support for any other extra activities like festivals or events. The college doesn't organize or contribute to refreshing events. The majority of the fees are collected by the institute yet they have never been provided so far to conduct any activities. Students join hands together to add up a few bucks and organize small events by themselves.
