Q:   Is B.Sc. at Motilal Nehru College worth the investment?

    A:
    {Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from current students and alumni, here's a summary:

    * Infrastructure: The college has a mix of old and new infrastructure, with some outdated classrooms and labs. However, the canteen and library are considered good.
    * Teaching: The majority of students praise the faculty members, citing their help, guidance, and willingness to assist.
    * Curriculum: The course is seen as relevant and conceptually strong, making students industry-ready.
    * Examinations: Semesters exams are considered moderately difficult, and students need to study adequately to pass.
    * Placements: While some students reported good placements, the overall trend indicates that the college doesn't have a strong reputation for placing students, particularly in the B.Sc. Maths Honours course. Average salaries ranged from INR6 LPA to INR10 LPA.
    * Internships: Around 60% of students reportedly got internships, with roles varying depending on the company.
    * Hostels: Unfortunately, there is no hostel facility available for students within the college premises.
    * Festivals and events: The college organizes regular festivals and events, providing a lively atmosphere for students.
    * Location: The college is situated on the South Campus, close to other educational institutions.

In conclusion, while Motilal Nehru College has its strengths, such as dedicated faculty and relevant curricula, the placement scenario is a concern for many students. Considering the mixed bag of infrastructure and amenities, prospective students might want to weigh the pros and cons carefully before investing in this course.

Here are some key points summarized in bullet points:

    * Infrastructure: Mixed, with outdated classrooms and labs, but a good canteen and library
    * Teaching: Helpful and knowledgeable faculty
    * Curriculum: Relevant and conceptually strong
    * Examinations: Moderately difficult semesters
    * Placements: Limited reputation for placements, with average salaries ranging from INR6 LPA to INR10 LPA
    * Internships: Approximately 60% of students received internships
    * Hostels: None available within the college premises
    * Festivals and events: Regularly organized
    * Location: Situated on the South Campus, close to other educational institutions

Motilal Nehru College is good for a degree purpose.
Placements: Students did not get placements in our course and college. In our course, many students went for further studies, and others are preparing for government jobs. Students come to this college to complete a basic bachelor's degree.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is decent. In our department, all the required facilities are available. We have classrooms and good labs. There is 5G Wi-Fi, which has very good internet. If students' mobile data network is not good in classrooms, they can use Wi-Fi. It has a very good speed and connectivity. There is one library for all students. All kinds of books are available.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful and well-qualified. They are very knowledgeable and very kind to students. They always share their experience and knowledge where students needed. Our course is relevant and makes students industry-ready. Many of our batchmates are pursuing master's in the same subject.
Other: In our college, many events are held. There are many clubs. They organise many events which are good in many fields. Each group has different goals, so students can choose which one they want to go to. For transportation, students can choose either the bus or the metro. A bus stop is 100-200 meters away. The metro is around 3-4 km away. There are many more colleges near our college. Motilal Nehru College is on the south campus. Ram Lal Anand College is close to our college.

Overall, the college is very good. The crowd is mostly North Indian.
Placements: There is nothing as such called placement in physics. Although the placement of the cell seems decent, they were previously even better, as I have heard. Placements are more for the B.Com. guys who are into the management and accounts fields.
Infrastructure: The facilities are very good. Especially in the recent few years, it has been under constant upgrade. Recently, LTs were upgraded with AC. The labs are pretty good. Although college grounds need to be maintained better, other than that, the canteen is a good place to stay.
Faculty: Very good faculty. Coursework is simple and helps you learn. It is exactly the same course and exam pattern followed across DU. I think in MLNC, the physics faculty have supported the students very well whenever required. It gave me some very big and career-defining opportunities.
Other: The annual festival needs to be organized in a better way. Funding needs to be increased in such cases.

Do not expect placements, old infrastructure, decent course not for everyone.
Placements: There are no great placement opportunities in the Maths department. No one was placed because the offers are mainly for commerce and arts students, mainly in sales and marketing, so no one really applied for those offers from the Maths department. Research and programming opportunities are not provided at all.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very old. There is no auditorium; some classes are in tin sheds. Wi-Fi is there but very poor. Labs are good, fully AC, and well-maintained, but the systems are old. The canteen is awesome, reasonable, and has decent taste compared to other colleges. There are all kinds of sports, and the teams also perform really well in inter-college competitions.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and qualified. They teach very politely, answering all doubts, and they even maintain a good relationship with students after class. The course is purely theoretical. If you are planning to go into research or teaching, then it is for you, but other than that, it is not really good for the industry. The curriculum is very old and not updated. The exams are really easy; only previous year questions are enough to pass. The passing percentage is 40.
Other: I chose this course because I like Maths. The best thing, I would say, is that you can pursue your other goals along with this course because it is not burdensome. One thing that should be improved is practical application in the industry. The events and fests are not really awesome in Motilal; it's quite boring, to be honest.

Nice college especially for students living in South Delhi.
Placements: There are no placement facilities available in our college for this course, although they are available for some other courses like the B.Com (Hons) program, etc. They get placements easily in some private banks or in any other private institutions. Our course offers good lab facilities and sometimes visits to IUAC, etc.
Infrastructure: Our college has moderate infrastructure and facilities available. A fully Wi-Fi campus is available in our college. Medium-sized classrooms for around 60 students. Canteen facilities are wonderful in our college at a medium rate. There are numerous sports facilities available in our college.
Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful, while some are non-cooperative. Some teachers have good teaching standards, while some are only for their attendance. The curriculum is the same as that of DU. The wonderful thing is that we have a big library with more than Lacs of books in it. It provides a study environment for you if you want to study.

Our college has very good infrastructure.
Placements: We have a total of 50 students in our class. No placement is available for our department in this college, although it is available for different departments like B.Com (Hons), program, etc. For Physics students, we get lab facilities and sometimes visit laboratories like IUAC.
Infrastructure: We have 3 labs in our department, and the quality of the instruments is good. We have also been provided with Wi-Fi with unlimited internet, which helps us in various ways. There is also a library in our college which has a vast variety of books. Our college does not provide hostel facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They answer our every query in a very easy manner. Moderate infrastructure with moderate facilities is available in this college. For South Delhi side students, this college is good to choose not that much but yes you can achieve something.

It’s a good college to take admission in.
Placements: The college placement services are severely lacking and fail to provide adequate support to the students in securing meaningful employment opportunities. Despite promises of extensive industry connections, the reality is that only a few students benefit from it, leaving many students to search for jobs on their own.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good. The library has a vast collection of books, both physically and digitally. The campus ground is clean. If we are talking about our course, it’s quite good as well. The lecture hall is good. The lab is good as well but the apparatuses in our lab are very old and most of them do not function well.
Faculty: The faculty members are 50/50. There are many good faculty members but there are lots of inexperienced and unqualified teachers as well. Overall, the faculty is good. Exams are good. For extra curricular activities, we have a Physics society that performs really well.
