Things you must know about Motilal Nehru College before taking admission.
Placements: The college has its placement cell, which provides internships to students. Although there is no proper data on placements (maybe you can find some on the college website), as most of the crowd of college students pursue civil services and go for higher education. That was all about placements.
Infrastructure: I must say the library and canteen are my favourite parts of this college. The food of the canteen is good as well as most affordable if we compare it to any other south campus college. The food also tastes very good. The library of the college has 3 air-conditioned reading rooms. In addition to this, the library has access to around 1.5 Lacs (all combined) books, journals, encyclopedias, magazines, research docs, etc. So a student will get access to almost everything which suits his requirements. The main demerit in the infrastructure is that it is quite old. With the campus area of almost 10 acres, which possesses 4 lawns, 1 huge playground, library, canteen etc. College doesn't have its own auditorium, amphitheatre, hostel, unlike other colleges of du. Other than this, the classrooms are well maintained; some are also air-conditioned. Labs are well maintained. The college also has good Wi-Fi connections on campus. That was all about infrastructure.
Faculty: Faculty-wise, this college is good, at least in the case of my arts courses. Teachers are helpful as well as qualified. And the whole curriculum of du is so well maintained that if a student studies it very carefully, then he or she will definitely gain theoretical as well as practical knowledge from their respective course.
Other: In Motilal Nehru College, you will experience almost everything in terms of societies, politics, selection, and sports (Motilal's football team is one of the best teams of du between). This college is good especially for arts courses. One thing which the college can improve is the infrastructure facilities like hostels, auditorium, amphitheatre, etc. Other than these, this college provides almost every facility to its students, especially at such a low fee with a decent crowd. If studying is the foremost goal of a student, then this college is for you, but if there is any discrepancy like a hostel which you don't like, then you can prefer any other college over Motilal, but in terms of education, this college is really doing well.

I must say it is underrated college of south campus.
Placements: Approximately 40-50% of students get placed based on their performance. The average package is between 4–7 LPA. Top companies like KPMG, Amazon, and Flipkart visit the campus. However, students need to be active, and alert to new opportunities, and maintain engagement with groups and seniors to secure placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average and requires improvement. The college currently doesn't provide hostel facilities, but campus life is enjoyable. The canteen food is excellent, and sports and games are highly active. There is a popular spot called Pahadi and Sundari Chwk, which is considered the best.
Faculty: The faculty members are very good and supportive. They assist students with exams and help clear doubts. The exam difficulty level is not very high, and the pass percentage is likely similar to that of other colleges.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics - Batch of 2024

Do not expect placements, old infrastructure, decent course not for everyone.
Placements: There are no great placement opportunities in the Maths department. No one was placed because the offers are mainly for commerce and arts students, mainly in sales and marketing, so no one really applied for those offers from the Maths department. Research and programming opportunities are not provided at all.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very old. There is no auditorium; some classes are in tin sheds. Wi-Fi is there but very poor. Labs are good, fully AC, and well-maintained, but the systems are old. The canteen is awesome, reasonable, and has decent taste compared to other colleges. There are all kinds of sports, and the teams also perform really well in inter-college competitions.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and qualified. They teach very politely, answering all doubts, and they even maintain a good relationship with students after class. The course is purely theoretical. If you are planning to go into research or teaching, then it is for you, but other than that, it is not really good for the industry. The curriculum is very old and not updated. The exams are really easy; only previous year questions are enough to pass. The passing percentage is 40.
Other: I chose this course because I like Maths. The best thing, I would say, is that you can pursue your other goals along with this course because it is not burdensome. One thing that should be improved is practical application in the industry. The events and fests are not really awesome in Motilal; it's quite boring, to be honest.

Masti and padhai saath saath.
Placements: I'm a fresher and currently, I don't know about the placements of my college, but to my knowledge, it's good as the college offers good education and guidance. The professors are really helpful, and the faculty is also nice. Seniors are also there to guide you and help you take good decisions in the college.
Infrastructure: Our college has a massive ground for students to play and improve in sports. It also has a basketball court and NCC for future options. The food in our canteen is good and affordable for all the students living in PGs, and it is made hygienically. There are a lot of food options to choose from. A student can have anything they want as our canteen nearly has everything.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful and are always available if you need any guidance. The department conducts seminars for fresher students on how to write college exams and score good. There is rarely any student failing; I haven't heard any student fail till now.
Other: I was really interested in B.A. Hons Political Science. Our department is very nice, everyone is there to support you and guide you best. The fests and events in our college are really exciting, and students do enjoy them.

An average package of fun .
Placements: I am in B.A. hons in political science, and we have a class composition of 55 students. Overall, this course is so really good. We get to study different ideologies and different types of people and their thinking. It's the very start of the course, so we haven't gone through it much, but if I see it overall, according to my seniors experience, it is really so vast and nice. For the package, it's nearly about 6,45,000, and we mostly get jobs like journalism and copywriting, etc.
Infrastructure: There are not many facilities available for our courses, which are B.A. hons. in political science. Like none of the rooms are totally dedicated to political science, but we have a problem right there that where our classes are being held in Jubilee Block. We are fully equipped with ACs.
Faculty: Teachers here are really qualified in many fields and hold knowledge of political science a lot. Most of the professors are very friendly and cooperative, along with playing the role of a parent in college, being strict about the things that are unacceptable by correcting us. The specific course doesn't have much to make us industry-ready but definitely makes us UPSC-ready. Else, other than this, we have GE, VAC, SEC, and AEC. We can opt for different subjects and topics to gain knowledge.
Other: I chose this course because I was already very interested in political science, which made me attracted towards this course, and it's going on well as we learn many new things on a daily basis. I wish that it could've consisted of some industry-ready skills with it, which would help us get jobs easily in this capitalist world. Else event fest and the campus are so wholesome. Everything is so sorted and done on time. There is no fest season. You can see fests being held every day or every other day except during exam times.

Abosulety dissatisfied with placements but the college fees is really very affordable
Placements: Their are not such placements in my college. Right now i am going to complete my 5th semester and their is no such information of placements or any internship. Google shows the average package of our college as 5 lakh but that totally a lie. Don't believe such things. There are no placements of my college one needs to themselves get one from outside campus if they want so.
Infrastructure: There is no wifi facility in the college even in many classes mobile network is also not there. No calls can be made. Although the library of the college is nice. There is a reading area where one can sit and study which also has ac and inside the library also it's air conditioned. The canteen food is very affordable as one can have lunch in maximum 100 rupees but the quality is not that good. There is no hostel facility available one needs to find flats and PG outside the college. There is a medical room in the college and a common room are girls also. Sports facilities are also there. Football ground, basketball ground , volleyball ground. All are present in the college.
Faculty: The faculty is very helpful. Teacher's understands students issue and help them accordingly. They are all PHD holders and have great knowledge. The way of their teaching is very simple , they make each and every little thing so simple to understand. As our course is more of theories but yes there are practical classes like tally prime and financial accounts that are useful in corporate field. The semester are quiet easy not that tough. Most of the ques are from past year exams only. The pass percentage is 33% for each subject.
Other: As i was from commerce background this course was my first preference and doing it from a well known university was a cheery on cake. The curriculum of the course is easy , one can easily prepare for higher studies with it or the exams one want to give. The only thing that can be improved is more of a practical knowledge rather then theoretical knowledge. The college has one annual fest that is for 2-3 days. There are competitions and lots of activities. But the fest is not that good as i compare them to other colleges of the Delhi university. The campus surrounding is very nice as it's a clean and a posh area.
