Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for B.E. / B.Tech students at N.B.K.R Institute of Science and Technology?

    A:
    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

    Success Rate of Placement Cell

    * According to the reviews, the placement cell at N.B.K.R Institute of Science and Technology has secured jobs for 175 students in the academic year 2017-2018.
    * However, the success rate varies across departments, particularly for Civil Engineering, which does not receive placements due to the placement officer's focus on software companies.
    * Despite this, the college provides a separate training programme for students before placements and has a dedicated placement cell.
    * Reviewers noted that companies like Infosys, Amazon, and Flipkart visit the college for placements annually, offering salaries ranging from INR2.5 Lacs to INR3 Lacs per annum.
    * Additionally, the college facilitates internships for students, including CNC lathe machine training in Chennai and Hyderabad, and offers central government certificates beneficial for job prospects.
    * While there may be variations in placement success rates, the college appears to prioritize placement efforts, although improvement could be made in terms of extending this to all departments equally.

NBKRIST - Good placements and a bright future.
Placements: Almost 90% of students were placed in our course. The highest salary package offered was 12 LPA. The average salary package offered was 6 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Capgemini, Accenture, Delta, DBS, TCS, IBM, etc. Everyone did individual internships from their side.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college was very good. We had a very good and well-stocked library with all the important resources available. All the latest books and newspapers were accessible. The college labs were well-equipped and had reliable Wi-Fi connectivity. The quality of food in the mess and canteen was average. I would rate it 5 out of 10.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful. A few were approachable and strict. But all teachers were well-qualified and knowledgeable. They had Ph.D. degrees in their respective fields. The course curriculum was relevant and made students industry-ready. I would rate it seven out of ten.

Good placements, best infrastructure, and good placements in 2022.
Placements: 80% percent of students were placed in my course. The highest package was 12LPA, the lowest package was 5LPA, average package was around 8LPA. The top recruiting companies for my course were TCS, Accenture, Tiger Analytics, Cognizant, etc. Everyone did internship based on their own.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for our course were very good. There were proper classrooms for every section, and a Wi-Fi connection was only available in computer labs. We had jammers to block the internet. I was not a hosteler, so I do not have much of an idea about the hostel. Based on what my friends said, the quality of food was okay, and the canteen was far, but it was okay. There were many sports and games, as well as NCC candidates, etc.
Faculty: The teachers were very helpful; they were qualified and knowledgeable. Everyone had done a Ph.D. in their qualification. The quality of the teachers was good. We used to have reviews for teachers after every semester based on their teaching approach. Yes, the course curriculum was relevant. And also, it is helpful for someone who wants to join the software engineering side. The semester exams were of an intermediate level. If you prepared well, you could qualify. The pass percentage in my year was 60%.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to join IT department. The best things about my course is you cab get more placements in this course. You can learn computers and their languages. I wish we had 100% placement offers for everyone, due to recession we had only 60%. There were few events like Ecstatica, CSI EVENTS to improve skills.

Satisfactory campus, but new faculty need to get experience before entering teaching.
Placements: As many of the colleges are not getting in Andhra Pradesh, this college is also one of them. The one and only company recruiting largely is Accenture. Among total students, only 20 to 30% get placements of the highest package of 3 to 4 lakhs per annum. As many people are choosing CSE, it's just like a herd of sheep joining, and the faculty are also dumb, except some.
Infrastructure: It is a large and environment-friendly college, surrounded by empty lands. There will be no signals within campus, which reduces usage of the phone. The only thing where we get peace is the library itself, because there will be no one. The hostel is fine, but the canteen is the worst under the new rules. The college became worse than ever.
Faculty: Teachers explanations in core subjects are understandable, but the new faculty still need experience in subject. I appreciate experienced faculty for their teaching style, but I am dissatisfied about new faculty. To pass a semester exam, daily attendance is important.
Other: I choose to learn and explore in the computer world, but joining here is completely different; it's just like a school. There are only 3 events in college and we can only see one that is done annually once.

    College freedom is very good
Placements: No placements in this college study is good. Accenture will hire in this college. Above 75% of students will placed to fraud in placement in charge. He will only place some of the students. Attendance is not mandatory in this college.
Infrastructure: Food quality is worst maintenance, also too bad classroom, no WiFi provided in some student's systems or too bad and not working. In class room old benches are there. The benches are too bad, some of the benches are broken not worthy. It only focus on money, how to collect money from students.
Faculty: Some of the teachers are good. No industry trips are provided. Some teachers are helpful. Some of the teachers use notes to see and explain. No experienced faculty. Exams are conducted strictly because they collect the supply fees. They have only interest in money collecting purpose.

    Dissatisfied with the college placements.
Placements: Around 5-6 members got placed out of 70 students, and all packages are 3 LPA. Accenture recruited, and some start-ups conducted interviews like Snovosys and Delta X. For our course specifically, no company visited, and the highest package overall at the college is 7 LPA.
Infrastructure: Everything is available but not well maintained. Wi-Fi is provided, but with less speed. The hostel is not that great; it looks kind of old. The sports ground is very big, but only a few will play. The canteen is not that good for food, and there is only one canteen that is always crowded.
Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful and highly qualified. They teach us well, and we can easily understand, but not in all subjects. Some teachers just complete the syllabus. Semester exams are moderate, with a pass percentage of over 85%. The course curriculum is relevant to the industry.

Really good infrastructure and good faculty.
Placements: I am from ECE and I passed out from this college in the year 2024. Due to recession, this year my college got fewer placements compared to previous years. In my course, I think 15-20% of people got placed in my year. The lowest package is 3.5 lakhs, and the highest package is 6.5 lakhs. I got an internship with companies like Tapacademy, etc. They offer normal job roles.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for our department are better. The main drawback is the unavailability of Wi-Fi for all students. The facilities in the hostel and the quality of food are good. In my college, special priority is given to games, sports, and NCC/NSS.
Faculty: In my department, highly qualified teachers are available. Mainly, the mechanical faculty are very good, and they train students to be ready for the industry. My college is an autonomous college, and the exams are held very strictly. All the HODs are doing their jobs to prevent any scams in exams.
Other: The campus is very big, with 200 acres of land. Events and fests are held twice a year.
